Lindsay's Page Lindsay (of the left :0)) and her BFF Hailey before the Justin Bieber concert October 2012
Welcome to Lindsay's page It has been provided to keep family and friends updated on her battle with Leukemia.
Lindsay was Diagnosed with pre-b ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) on July 3rd 2003. She had been complaining of headaches and had a fever on and off that her doctor couldn't pin to anything. On July 3rd she was in to the doctor again for a fever and he decided to run a CBC at our local hospital. He called us later that afternoon and said Lindsay had Leukemia and we needed to get her to a hospital that night and so began our journey. She is Currently in remission. She does have a chromosome abnormality, but she is standard risk and given a good prognosis. Her treament will be a little more intense, and she is on protocol POG #9905 regimen C. Lindsay, her dad, Bryan, and me..Carine would like to thank everyone who has thought of us or said a prayer for Lindsay. We are thankful from the bottom or our hearts and please pray that Lindsay will be in remission forever! Thank you ! LINDSAY FINISHED CHEMOTHERAPY ON 1-5-06!!!
DID YOU KNOW? 1 out of every 330 children will be diagnosed with cancer (during childhood). Cancer is the number 1 killer amongst children. One option if chemotherapy doesnt work is a bone marrow transplant. PRETTY UNBELIEVEABLE HUH?
*****In My Daughter's Eyes***** By Martina McBride
In my daughter's eyes I am a hero I am strong and wise and I know no fear But the truth is plain to see She was sent to rescue me I see who I wanna be In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal Darkness turns to light and the world is at peace This miracle God gave to me gives me strength when I am weak I find reason to believe In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my finger Oh it puts a smile in my heart Everything becomes a little clearer I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough It's giving more when you feel like giving up I've seen the light It's in my daugter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future A reflection of who I am and what will be Though she'll grow and someday leave Maybe raise a family When I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made me For I'll be there In my daughter's eyes
(need I say more!)
Journal
Friday, January 18, 2013 7:58 PM CST Wow.... Well it sure has been a while since this has been updated. It took me a bit to figure out how to even log in.. Where to start..... Lindsay is doing great.. she is now 16!! and on the cusp of getting her drivers license. She is a Sophomore in high school, a JV cheerleader in the middle of basketball season, honor roll student...We couldn't be prouder of our girl. She did have a hiccup with her first semester finals... had to make them up after Christmas break as she caught the nasty sickness that has plagued our area. She missed the whole week of school before break, was off 2 weeks for break, and has now been back to school a couple weeks, made up everything and is back into her routine... She has a very busy - concert going Summer last year. She saw lots of Country shows.. We won't some tickets, she was invited with a couple friends for their birthday's...with the final concert last year for her 16th birthday - Floor seats to Justin Bieber... To this day she says it was the best day of her life - so far...lol.. thanks to grandparents we were able to make her sweet 16 a birthday she will never forget... I then caught whatever it was that she had and is just now getting over a 3 week (no joke) sickness that had me either in bed or on the couch and to the doctor 3 times...with a trip to the hospital for a chest x-ray...not fun at all.. I have been off work since Christmas and am hoping to head back Monday...In this economy a month off work is going to hurt... Here's to hoping we get through the month....:0) Other than that things are the same. We are still in out rental house..digging out...Bryan is still with Frito Lay and I am still working for an insurance agent as his assistant. Lindsay is due for her next Milwaukee checkup this Summer, and I will try to post highlights from that.. Her 10 year diagnosis anniversary is July 4th - this year...and she just celebrated 7 years off treatment - which is awesome!!!
Thanks to any and all of you who continue to check in and think about us... it is very much appreciated...
