Sadly, I write the last entry into this journal. We miss John and are trying to imagine our lives without him. He is there -- in our children's eyes, their laughter and their love for one another. He is with all of you who have followed him throughout this difficult time. I hope each of you take some of his dignity, courage, optimism, loyalty and passion for life with you.

This site started as an easier way for us to communicate with family and friends. It has grown well beyond our expectations. Not just in sheer numbers, but the comfort, encouragement and consolation we received from your comments have been overwhelming.

We thank you for loving John as we did.
