WHERE DO BALLOONS GO WHEN YOU SET THEM FREE???

Where do balloons go when you set them free??
do they float into the clouds or get stuck in a tree?
do they fly high in the sky or get popped by a bee?
do they soar witht he birds and the bugs in the air...
or stay close to the ground and get chased by a bear?
does the wind blow them out over the big blue ocean..
or do they climb up and over samll hills and big mountains??

Do they go out into space and circle the stars and then
fall back to earth after traveling so far??
or does GOD collect them all in a big bouquet and give them to the children in heaven each day??
where do balloons go when you set them free?
I hope they go to heaven as a gift for you from me!!


We went to a special event recently and were allowed to hear this poem. then we sent out one balloon for all all our angel friends...one name on each one. wanted you to know your little angel now has it.

It has been awhile since I have signed
the guestbook, I come by often to see how
you are doing, it has just been really hard
for me because my 10yr old daughter is now
getting ready for transplant on the 26th of August
and I had followed Chassidy's journal for so long.
She has just relapsed so things have been very crazy
as you well know... I just pray I can remane as strong
as you have. I think of you often, and I am so glad
to hear that you will be going to school. My husband and I often talk about going into the medical field because of
our experience with our Hospital and staff.
I myself thought about child life therapy..You never know
we will see.. I truly wish you the best...

Dear Tonya,
I learned of Chassidy from Tracy and Katia's page. I'm so sorry that Chassidy has passed on. It was brave of you to prepare yourself for what could happen. It is very difficult to think about the future that way. The memory wall for Chassidy is a great idea. It will keep her memory alive, so no one in your family will ever forget her. it must be comforting for you to know that her Homecoming Celebration was beautiful and she is happy in heaven with her angel wings.

Last year when school was about to start I didn't want to return to work. Dawson was 8 months old and I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I prayed and prayed for a way to stay home, but I didn't feel like that was what God wanted me to do. So, a little reluctantly, I returned to work only to find that God didn't answer my prayer because it was not part of his plan. He had a reason for my being there. God knew that Chassidy would be there, and if I wasn't, I would miss out on knowing and loving such a fine young lady and her family. I feel very honored and blessed to have known her! I know that Chassidy will be missed by her classmates very much. They always wanted to know how she was doing each day, and they each showed how caring children can be for each other through their generosity. Chassidy taught her classmates' compassion for one another. That is a priceless gift that she gave them. I know that Chassidy is a beautiful angel, and someday, we will meet again. Tonya, Forgive me for the last entry being there four times (having computer problems). We went and order Chassidy's flowers from Keliann today and I have been down all day. I know how much the girls thought of each other. I know Keliann will miss her terribly. Some times I don't know what to say to so I read the web-site. It helps me. I still can't believe it at times. I will miss her beautiful smile and personality so much. We don't understand God's plan for us but I am glad we had her in our life and I am even though it will be hard for Keliann I am glad they were so close and great friends. They loved each other alot. Call anytime. Thank you for allowing ourr daughters to be friends. Keliann will care that with her forever. It meant alot to her that you let her do the posterboard for the service. And that chassidy will be wearing the other half of their best friend necklace forever. It won't be the same around her without her. WE will miss and always love you Chassidy.

Tonya, you are right, Chassidy will always be around. I look at her dear picture so much during the day, the one of her with the SpongeBob pillow. I love that Michael Jackson song and I can just see Chassidy overlooking her services and just smiling through that song. I am sure she is loving you and feeling you in her heart. I look for butterflies. I really believe butterflies and dragonflies are precious souls flying around. I look at that as playtime and what child wouldn't want to be able to fly, what adult. So God must allow them wings to fly and soar and do turns and just have fun. Since Katia was diagnosed, I found a whole new meaning in nature. Each time we lose a precious child on these sites or the hospital that I know, I go out and look for a butterfly. I have a butterfly light in the tree next to my desk. They are like Christmas lights so there are 10 different colored butterflies. I have a story I want to share with you that I found a few months back. I just really liked the meaning of the story.
THE DRAGON FLY STORY
The Dragonfly Story
Down below the surface of a quiet pond lived a little colony of water bugs. They were a happy colony, living far away from the sun. For many months they were very busy, scurrying over the soft mud on the bottom of the pond. They did notice that every once in awhile one of their colony seemed to lose interest in going about. Clinging to the stem of a pond lily it gradually moved out of sight and was seen no more.
"Look!" said one of the water bugs to another. "one of our colony is climbing up the lily stalk. Where do you think she is going?" Up, up, up it slowly went....Even as they watched, the water bug disappeared from sight. Its friends waited and waited but it didn't return...
"That's funny!" said one water bug to another. "Wasn't she happy here?" asked a second... "Where do you suppose she went?" wondered a third.
No one had an answer. They were greatly puzzled. Finally one of the water bugs, a leader in the colony, gathered its friends together. "I have an idea". "The next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk must promise to come back and tell us where he or she went and why."
"We promise", they said solemnly.
One spring day, not long after, the very water bug who had suggested the plan found himself climbing up the lily stalk. Up, up, up, he went. Before he knew what was happening, he had broke through the surface of the water and fallen onto the broad, green lily pad above.
When he awoke, he looked about with surprise. He couldn't believe what he saw. A startling change had come to his old body. His movement revealed four silver wings and a long tail. Even as he struggled, he felt an impulse to move his wings...The warmth of the sun soon dried the moisture from the new body. He moved his wings again and suddenly found himself up above the water. He had become a dragonfly!!
Swooping and dipping in great curves, he flew through the air. He felt exhilarated in the new atmosphere. By and by the new dragonfly lighted happily on a lily pad to rest. Then it was that he chanced to look below to the bottom of the pond. Why, he was right above his old friends, the water bugs! There they were scurrying around, just as he had been doing some time before.
The dragonfly remembered the promise: "the next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk will come back and tell where he or she went and why." Without thinking, the dragonfly darted down. Suddenly he hit the surface of the water and bounced away. Now that he was a dragonfly, he could no longer go into the water...
"I can't return!" he said in dismay. "At least, I tried. But I can't keep my promise. Even if I could go back, not one of the water bugs would know me in my new body. I guess I'll just have to wait until they become dragonflies too. Then they'll understand what has happened to me, and where I went."
And the dragonfly winged off happily into its wonderful new world of sun and air.......
Thank you God, for the story of the water bugs and the dragonflies.

Here are a few more poems. I know you have read these on other sites but I want to leave them here for you
I'LL LEND YOU THIS CHILD

I'll lend you for a little time a child of Mine, He said, for you to love the while he lives and mourn
for when he dies. It may be six or seven years or twenty-two or three but will you, till I call him
back, take care of him for Me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely
memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay since all from earth return, but
there are lessons taught down here, I want this child to learn. I've looked this wide world over in
search of teachers true and from the throngs that crowd life's lane I have decided you. Now will
you give him all your love nor think the labor vain and hate Me when I come to call to take him
back again?

I fancy that I heard them say Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy this child will bring the risk of grief we'll run, We'll shelter him with tenderness we'll
love him while we may and for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay. And should the
angels call for him much sooner than we planned we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to
understand.


GOD'S GARDEN

God looked around His garden
and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
Gods' garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered "Peace Be Thine."
It broke our heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
We love you and we miss you.



MY MOM IS A SURVIVOR


My Mom is a survivor, or so I've heard it said.
But I hear her crying at night when all others are in bed.
I watch her lay awake at night and go to hold her hand.
She doesn't know I'm with her to help her understand.
But like the sands on the beach that never wash away...
I watch over my surviving mom, who thinks of me each day.
She wears a smile for others...a smile of disguise.
But through Heaven's door I see tears flowing from her eyes.
My mom tries to cope with death to keep my memory alive.
But anyone who knows her knows it is her way to survive.
As I watch over my surviving mom...through Heaven's open door.
I try to tell her that angels protect me forever more.
But I know that doesn't help her or ease the burden she bears.
So if you get a chance, go visit her...And show her that you care.
For no matter what she says...no matter what she feels.
My surviving mom has a broken heart that time won't ever heal~!



I HEAR EACH TEAR FALL ON HER FACE

My Mom doesn't know I'm watching her
but I'm watching her just the same.
And I hear each tear fall on her face
at the very mention of my name.

She says it sounds like music to her ears
and can be heard over a crowd.
Oh, I hear each tear fall on her face
when my name is said aloud.

I watch her stumble through each day
as she wishes the day would end.
And I hear each tear fall on her face
as she talks of me to her friends.

But there are few who truly understand.
Oh this I've heard her proclaim.
And I hear each tear fall on her face.
Will my Mom ever be the same?

I know that her smiles light up a sky.
But I don't see that smile today.

Her blue skies have turned to gray.

Tonya...my heart aches for you as I read the pain in your latest update. One thing I'm learning in my own grief is not to rush your feelings and actions. Tonya, I have been by your page a few times today just to read it again and agian. I just wanted to see Chassidy through this. She was such a tough fighter but I once read on a site of another child that passed that cancer didn't beat them, they beat cancer by going to heaven. I like that thought. I don't like to look at it as they lost a battle, they have gone on. I know you are going to miss her and I can't imagine what dear Skylar is feeling and the questions she will be asking. My heart goes out to you. We feel like we really know these kids through the websites and I am so glad I got to be a small part of Chassidy's life. Tonya- my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I will miss Chassidy forever. I will always remember our silly string fights and the little arguments that chassidy and I seemed to have together. We were quite a pair together. We both knew how to get on each others last nerve and then make each other laugh again. I smile at the thoughts of chassidy and cry at the thought of how much I am going to miss her. The thought that she is free of pain and of fighting this horrible battle of cancer is what keeps me going. I feel honored to have met your family. YOu are such a blessing to me. Dearest Tonya,
Oh I can't believe it...I woke up this morning and headed straight for the computer to check on Chassidy and just couldn't believe what I read. I am so extremely sorry... I don't know what to say. My heart feels like it has broken into a million pieces all over again...Chassidy was such a SPECIAL, SPECIAL girl to me...I cannot even begin to describe how much her journey meant to me...I loved checking on her. She had and always will have a special place in my heart, FOREVER...I am thankful for being able to share her amazing journey with her and all of you..and I am thankful that God granted her her much needed angel wings...as much as I would've loved for her to stay here on earth with all of us, I am relieved that she is now at peace, pain-free and happy, and most of all, CANCER-FREE forever! It is really weird, but even though I have never met Chassidy, I feel like I "knew" her...I will really miss updates on her. Dearest Tonya and Chassidy,
I know you probably don't know who I am, but Skylar and my daughter, Alexis, are really good friends and go to the same wonderful daycare and are in the same class at school. I just wanted to tell you that you are both in our prayers. I have read all the entries and hope that everything is going to be okay. So many prayers are being prayed and I am one who believes in miracles. Chassidy is a miracle. I see donation cans in almost every store I go in here in Metropolis and ALWAYS add a little something from the heart. Every picture I see of Chassidy is one of her smiling. I can't imagine it any other way. I met her once and she was SMILING. :-)Our mutual friend gave me this website and I am soooo glad she did. Hey Chass! It's another day and that means one day closer to Saturday when I can see you again!! YEH!!! Quinton and Cameron have been going to Bible School this week. I think Quinton found a new girlfriend. I say new because he had one that is a regular member of church. But this new little girl has just been coming to VBS and he just met her.
