Welcome to Anna "Banana's" webpage! For her latest update, see the Journal entry at the bottom of this page. Her story follows:
Anna was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma stage 2 (a solid tumor cancer) on 11/28/02 at 9 weeks old. Anna "Banana" is one of the more fortunate of kids b/c of diagnosis before age one.
She had an intrathoracic mass growing around her left lung, pressing on her bronchus. It was found by accident through a chest x-ray for a cough. The primary treatment was surgery with over 95% of the tumor removed on 11/28/02. She now has no evidence of disease!
She struggles with chronic sleep disturbance caused by a limb movement disorder and sleep apnea. She has made great strides with meds and removal of adenoids and tonsils. She loves to talk and is an outgoing, curious & mischievous 5 year old!! As I like to tell her, she is our gift from God and I thank him for her and her awesome big brother Lucas everyday!
Neuroblastoma and all cancers must be beaten, keep the faith always!

Sunday, July 20, 2008 11:07 PM CDT The Rezac clan is enjoying a great summer, full of T-ball, Little League, swimming and camps. Anna has grown like crazy this summer. And it's hard to believe she is starting Kindergarten this fall. Lucas is having a great summer and is starting 4th grade this fall. What an amazing journey.
Anna, Lucas, Mike and myself send many thoughts and prayers to the fighters and their families. You are always in our minds and hearts.
Sharon
