Hey Jan and Terrell!!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Thank you for the message on Saharah's CB page! It was so sweet of you!!

I was at the RMH/Minneapolis from June 2004 to around September 2004; then they transferred her via medjet to Columbia once she was stable so she could be closer to home...I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED that RMH house!! It was literally like a resort of sorts! I couldn't believe all of the nice rooms, play rooms, toys, food, facilities, supplies, etc, that they had! It was just unbelievable! That place was a gift in and of itself!

Saharah's MRI showed some changes, but they are still thinking it is post-surgical-which I'm told can show up on scans their entire lives! He then said unless there are problems before hand to come back for another scan in a YEAR!!! That was the best birthday present for her!! We are still working on her feet issues; she is on Neurontin, and if that continues to not work we will be headed to either Duke or Harvard to see what is going on...from one problem to another; story of her life! I do see a slight decline in the issues she has to deal with so hopefully we are on the downside of this roller-coaster!

Anywho; I have to study for a 200+question test I have tonight at 5pm! I just wanted to check in on you guys!

What is Terrell's scan schedule? Is he getting any therapies or having any problems? I am so happy to read that he did the survivor lap-and wanted to do it himself!! I bet the floodgates just opened up; it's so awesome when they are FINALLY tears of JOY instead of fear and sorrow, isn't it?!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU GUYS!!!

Look forward to hearing back from you:) Hope you have a great week!

Lots of Love, Hugs, and Answered Prayers From Above~

"He's My Son" by Mark Schultz

I'm down on my knees again tonight
I'm hoping this prayer will turn out right
See there is a boy that needs Your help
I've done all that I can do myself
His mother is tired
I'm sure You can understand
Each night as he sleeps
She goes in to hold his hand
And she tries not to cry
As the tears fill her eyes

CHORUS:
Can You hear me?
Am I getting through tonight?
Can You see him?
Can You make him feel all right?
If You can hear me
Let me take his place somehow
See, he's not just anyone
He's my son

Sometimes late at night I watch him sleep
I dream of the boy he'd like to be
I try to be strong and see him through
But God who he needs right now is You
Let him grow old
Live life without this fear
What would I be
Living without him here
He's so tired and he's scared
Let him know that You're there

CHORUS

Can You hear me?
Can You see him?
Please don't leave him
He's my son

he my son

Just wanted to stop in and say "hi" and let you all know that we continue to think of all of you. It sounds like things are still going well for Terrell, and we will pray that they will continue to. I am so amazed each and every time that I read your journal entries, how far Terrell has come. I used to worry about him so, back when he was going through transplant. Now look at him. He is amazing, as are the rest of you. I think his success, stems right from the support and encouragement that he receives from all of you.
Please know that we will continue to keep your family in our prayers.

Dear Jan and Family- Thanks for the update. I too have been slow to update. Sometimes I think about closing the site, but it is nice to let people that we met in Mpls. know how things are going. And as you said, the kids are always in tx, no matter how well they may be doing. I know it is in the back of their minds everytime there is a checkup, etc. Brianna is having a PET/CT scan and it brings back memories of all those days she was here for chemo. and radiation. I bet Terrell is anxious for Christmas break. Even Brianna who is a super studious student was getting sick of studying for finals last week. We have had lots of snow and cold and wind so we for sure will have a White Christmas. God's blessings to you and your family.

When I wake and see the Light
I thank Him for another day.
Help me Lord, to see and do things Your way.
I start my day thanking Him for Loving me.
I speak to Him as A dear dear friend, as a brother and a shield.

My day ends, He helps me know, with Him by my side the world becomes real wide, to explore and to think,
I will run and tell Jesus, with Him I am not weak.

My Purpose

I have cancer. There isn't an explanation as to why I became sick.
All I know is God has a plan for each of us and for each plan there
is a purpose. Some of us know what our purpose in life is and others
will never find it. Then there are those like me who accomplish if
without ever realizing it.
My journey with cancer will not and has not been without purpose.
It is through my illness that I have helped doctors understand this
disease a little more so they may find a cure.
It is thorugh my illness that I have opened the eyes to those around
me to how precious life really is. Something we all to often take
for granted.

It is though my illness that some of those around me have realized
that life is too short to be afraid of our feelings. My cancer has
been beaten back by the power of love. It is the most powerful of
emotions, one not to be afraid of, but to be embraced. To be loved
by someone unconditionally and completely is to reach into your soul
and feel warmth.

It is thorugh my illness that I have shown there is no guarantee for
the future--only dreams for it. Whether the future is just another
day or another 75 years, we should all dream big and live fully
everyday.

It is through my illness that I have seen the strong cry, only to
find more strength.

It is through my illness that some of us who haven't talked to God
in a while have once again begun to pray.

It is through my illness that I have joined the hands of those
familiar to those of strangers, to form one long chain.
I have already accomplished so much in such a short amount of time
and each day I continue to touch the hearts of many.

That is my purpose.

LOVE MOM

Thanks for the update Jan! Now, we will anxiously await a new picture, too! So glad to hear that things continue to go well for Terrell. We thank God that the "bumps" he deals with today are quite small compared to the mountains he had to climb three years ago! What a brave, strong boy you have! As always, you all remain in our thoughts and prayers. Will you be going to the BMT Celebration and Reunion in Minnesota in November? We're thinking about going -- if we can work out the details. Maybe we will see you there! (Wouldn't that be cool? The last time we saw everyone, we were all still in the midst of transplant worry and stress. This trip would be a joy!)

I got your message on Tanner's website and want to appreciate your open arms. I have never forgotten about you and your family. I am just busy and tired all the time to do anything. I am lucky to enter journal updates for Tanner. Things are quite different since the last month. I just worry, because this is not like Tanner. It could have grown on us, but BOOM it changed.

Your Terrell looks awesome in his uniform. I am sure he is full of energy for you as well. I think that is one thing boys are made of! They love to wear you out.

Hello Jan, Terrell and family,
Well, I am assuming that you are living your life and are having fun on the way! I pray all is going well for you. We sure are looking forward to summer. Can hardly wait to see some sun and " green" again! We are planning a busy summer. I am building a house in Elizebeth Minnesota ( near Fergus Falls.) Its not "in town" but right on the edge. We got a acher and a half. We are considered "rural" but close enough to hook up to city water/sewer PTL! We also have a full schedule of other summer stuff.Again, I am so happy that things are going so well. Please know you are thought of often and you continue to be in our prayers...

We are so happy that Terrell has reach this milestone. Imagine that! Three years since the cord blood transplant! Our hats off to Terrell and his wonderful family for maintaining a positive upbeat outlook and providing communications to us.
Terrell, you did the hard work! Congratulations!

Hello, and thank you for signing Matthews guestbook.
I'm sure you know the encouragement it brings to hear about another survivor. I love to see the words cure.
Matthew had his transplant at the U of M as well. I agree both Childrens and the U are great hospitals.
Thanks again for signing and we will add Terrell to our always growing list of little people to pray for.
God Bless,

WOW. Congrads on your appointments! We are so happy for you Terrell. You just go out and L.I.V.E.... Amanda loves Mercy Me. When they first became popular they had a song called " Imaigine.' Amanda an four of her friends did a human video of that song and won 1st place in ND fine arts. They got to go to Nationals where she placed 2nd. Right now, her three favorite songs of "hope" are " Lord, I don't know" by the Newsboys, " Strong Tower" by Kutless and yes, rain by Mercyme. They stick in her heart. SHe is going through a difficult time and we have even heard her sing " Lord, I dont know" in her sleep.
You kids are imazing... untterly imaizng. "In YOUr Weakness, HE is made strong." For anyone who has watched your life or the one like my Amanda, they would have to know that scripture was true and is true in the two of you!

Terrell,

It is fantastic to read that you are doing so well. We are hopeful that your test results will continue to be in the normal range so you can continue to be busy with being part of school, sports and all the other things that bring happiness into your life. We are so glad for you - mom, dad and Emanuel too! We hope you had a blessed Easter.

Praying for You,

Dear Jan & Terrell & family,
Loved the guestbook Easter entry - ha ha! :} I will be praying for the 3 year tests results. Tom will also be in MPLS starting on Thursday, but he will be on the other side of the river to have his other knee operated on because of the steroid damage. Dang prednisone! Glad to hear that Terrell continues to do well. He has always been such an inspiration - and you too! Love the baseball picture!

We're thinking of you as you travel to Minneapolis for your appointments. Jan, you guys are so thoughtful, not wanting to take up a room at the RMH, so a long term family can get in. We are praying that all comes out well.
Terrell, you continue to be one tough kid and an inspiration to everyone that has had the pleasure to meet you. We miss seeing you guys, but are very glad that we don't see you at clinic! Keep us posted on your appointments.

Happy Valentine's Day Terrell! You definitely are a "brand new man" - you have had to grow up so quickly. It is wonderful to hear that everything is going well. Looking at the slide show is so fun! Emanuel is growing up so quickly too. I think of you often ~ especially when I see anything John Deere! Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey. God Bless! Debbie

I saw a john deere tractor thing in the store yesterday and thought of terrell. glad things are going so well. it certainly has been a long journey for you all. and really nothing short of a miracle. may god bless you all and continue to keep things on the "normal" side of life. enjoy every minute of it, as I'm sure you all do. what clarity our experiences have given us -- to really take in each and every little thing that before we would have taken for granted. best wishes to all. and happy valentine's day! xoxo elly

Hi Baumlers,
Just stopping by to say "hello." Hope all is going well and that you're busy doing regular things! Won't be long and it will be time to get the boat out again! What's the chances of us having two good boat years in a row??? (Pretty slim, I think!)

We miss running into you at the RMH. We are going back in a couple weeks to visit Squeeks spine surgeon. Should be a relatively short visit.
