Samuel F. Kiener

October 30, 1987 - April 29, 2003.

Welcome to Sam's Web Page. Sam was a 15 year old boy with relapsed ALL who underwent a bone marrow transplant and passed away from complications related to that bone marrow transplant.

Sam's journey with cancer began in December, 1989, when at the age of 2 he was diagnosed with ALL. He relapsed in 1996, and then again in November, 2001.

In February, 2002, Sam underwent the first of three consecutive bone marrow transplants at Fairview University Medical Center.

Sam was laid to rest in St. Patrick's Cemetery near Cumming on May 2, 2003. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sam Kiener Pediatric Oncology Endowment which benefits the pediatric oncology programs at Blank Children's Hospital, c/o Iowa Health Foundation, 1440 Ingersoll Ave., Des Moines, IA 50309.

We miss you Sam and will love you always!

Eight years ago today, with my hand on your heart, you left this world for a better place. Not a day goes by that I do not think of you and miss you.

With love always.
