Tuesday, July 8, 2008 2:41 PM CDT What a crazy summer! My summer has been quite an odd balled one to say the least. After graduating from Hawkeye(with High Honors), moving out of my apartment, I finally moved back into my house for the summer while I'm working for the DNR.
With all of that high water and flood damage and flood control needing to be done, that is what the first month of my summer was. I seen a lot of crazy things and got to do some pretty unbelievable things as well, like one day I was driving a boat down the Coralville Strip doing rescues. The next day I was over in Cedar County helping with Bridge Inspections.
I guess that is why I love my job and want to pursue my life career with the DNR, because you just never know what you could be doing the next day!
But during all of the flooding and madness we still found time to get out and shoot some rough fish like carp and buffalo with our bows as well as using a spear. I had a blast reeling those big hogs in with my bow! We also did some fishing during the high waters and we actually did quite well, catching too many to count nice blue gills, medi-oker walleyes, lots of little bass, and some really nice crappies.
Now finally things are getting back to normal and I am doing what I was hired to do but now my summer is over half over now just one month to go before I start up at Upper Iowa University.
So hopefully the summer slows down so I can enjoy it a little more and I get to get in on some more fun and exciting events! Kind of looking forward to helping with the RAGBRI coming up in a couple of weeks.
I added some new pictures!
Monday, May 12, 2008 1:52 PM CDT Well my life sure does feel relieved and excited for the next steps. Today I finished with my last final and also that was the last of Hawkeye College for me. I have done it, I've gotten my AAS in Natural Resources from Hawkeye. Next step on my to do list for school is to transfer into Upper Iowa University next fall where I can study and receive my Bacherlor's Degree in Conservation Management.
Got a once in lifetime chance probably this past week. I got the chance to go look for Massauga Rattle Snakes in Bremer County, Iowa. The snakes are very rare in Iowa with only about two small populations. I had an exciting day looking for them. First off, I hate snakes and anything to do with them. So as I am walking around in the grass and shrubs, I was freaked out and thinking about what if I get bit and if I'd make to the hospital in time. Sure enough I was the first one to find one, man was did I yell and proabably scream. I found the first then someone else found one and as we were about to leave, I found another one. It was a neat experience and I even got to hold the Massauga Rattlesnake after we got it's head safely secured. Mother's Day weekend was a work filled weekend. I had to move all of my stuff back to Riceville and that was a chore because I had no one to help me load my things.. But I got it done. Had a nice Mother's Day with my parents.
Today was my last worry of stress and frustration. I finished my last final and I also moved back to the Coralville Area. All moved in and ready to get started with work tomorrow. It is such a nice day, by golly I am going to go hit a round on the golf cours!
Wednesday, April 23, 2008 1:04 PM CDT Yet again another month goes by! I have been quite busy this past month with classes, projects, and preparing to moving out. I have had the oppurtunity to do some neat things this past month.
Some of those neat things are that I got to go catch Endangered Trumpeter Swans once again like I did last year and I also got to help in Clear Lake at the fishery station. I got to help retrieve the eggs from walleyes for reproduction and releasing capabilities. Even got to help put tracking tags in all of the walleyes as well. Also got to release quite a few 40 inch plus muskies back into Clear Lake after we tagged them and got their information.
I was able to make it back for my buddy Connor Gordon's benefit. He is going through the Leukemia process at St. Marys as I did a few years ago. By golly I even had a couple of days off from class and work so what did I do? I went home and grabbed my bow and went the turkey woods! I stalked up and bagged my gobbler within 10-15 minutes and decided that it happened a way too easy. So I decided to get another tag and go with a buddy in the morning. Sure enough in the morning we ended up calling a tom in and I let another arrow fly and bagged another nice Tom. That Tom we even got on tape, how sweet!
Now I am just counting my days of school as well as my days at Best Buy! Two weeks for both and I can't wait!
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 9:01 AM CDT WOW!! Today is my 3-year anniversary for my Bone Marrow Transplant. That is just crazy to even think that it has been 3 years. Thanks to all of YOUR SUPPORT & PRAYERS, here I am today, healthy as can be and in the process of fulfilling my goals in life!
To me now adays it doesn't even seem like I went through what I did. With all of YOUR SUPPORT and the Awesome doctors, nurses, child life, & Mary. YOU ALL MADE MY TIME THERE THE BEST IT COULD BE, considering the circumstances.
On spring break all this week even though it doesn't seem like it, working 35 hours at Best Buy, but I guess I have to make the money first: then play second!
The buck I harvested with my bow this past fall is done at the Taxidermist so I will get to pick that up. Pretty excited!
Other then that it has been the same 'ol with classes and work everyday. I'm going home for a day tomorrow and I'm going to do some four wheeling and also I plan to go up and see my buddy, CONNOR GORDON, he is going through his Leukemia treatments in Rochester now.
HOPE ALL IS WELL IN YOUR LIFE!
Wednesday, February 27, 2008 1:52 PM CST Well I had my 6 months check-up last Friday and all went well. It was a quick one because I only had to get my blood counts and see my doctor. This trip was in a way a first, because my girlfriend Michelle came along with my mom and I. We got to meet up with an old nurse of mine in between blood and my visit with my doctor. That was great! So then we went back to the clinic and even ran into good 'ol Toy Boy! I believe he was trying incognito by growing a beard so he could not be recognized, it was a nice attempt but at the same time it was great to get to see him! After my doctor appointment, I got to go see Connor Gordon, who is going through the Leukemia treatments. He was doing great and waiting to get out of the hospital for a few days. So I hope everyone can keep him in their prayers as well.
As far as check-ups, I am far enough out that my protocal says I only have to go the clinic once a year now!! WooWhoo! Other then that, I am just back in Waterloo, going to classes all the time and working and just trying to enjoy life..
Friday, February 1, 2008 8:19 PM CST Well another month down, and another month closer to being done with college. Over the past just got back in the flow of being in school and working like usual. My car died out on me so i am back to drivin my Tahoe..
Hope everyone's holidays went well and everybody is back in the swing of things. I am coming up on my next check-up which will be my 3 year anniversary so to say, 3 years from my transplant! It honestly seems like an eternity ago that i went through it all..
I sure do have boring entries, i guess i am just a boring guy, because i dont seem to do to many exciting things! Oh well..
Keep On Keepin On
Monday, December 31, 2007 2:51 PM CST HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON TO EVERYONE!!!! Hopefully everyone is enjoying all that the holidays have to offer and your familys are all doing just fine and dandy!
As for myself I have been trying to enjoy my school break but it really has not been much of a break even though i may not have classes right now i have been working about everyday of the week so that kills my free time and my time to get home to HUNT!!
I got home just enough during bow season to harvest a great buck and even a nice doe with the muzzleloader. Still waiting to find time to get home to fill some more muzzle loader tags though, freezer is gettin low..
Michelle and I went to the Monday night VIKINGS vs. BEARS game in the cities, that was pretty sweet!!! I had a great christmas my whole family was actually able to get home so it was great to see everyone!!
well hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and take it easy
Sunday, November 25, 2007 8:37 AM CST Wow has it been a very busy last month.. I started working at BEST BUY which I really enjoy working there. Except that I do work a lot. Classes have been pretty krazy with lots of big projects and long papers being due. It was hard for me to find some time to get home and hunt. But I did manage to get home just enough to be able to harvest a nice buck with my bow. Well I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and wish you all the best!
Monday, October 22, 2007 3:44 PM CDT Well it has been pretty slow around here. Just a lot of classes and starting to do a little huntin'. I've been a little ill lately with a sore throat and the nose issues.. So that has set me back a little bit but no big deal! This week I start working for Best Buy so I will have a little extra cash flow. Other than that, I just have a Halloween party that Michelle and I are going to. We are going to be Indians!!! Michelle's mother is being kind enough to make us the outfits even. So that will be pretty kool!!
take care
Monday, October 8, 2007 11:24 PM CDT Well last friday i had to go to Rochester again for an eye appointment and they told about exactly what i expected!! that my eyes are looking great and that there is no problems to eye that they had to cut open back in the day.. I believe she said i had like 20/15 vision.. I impressed her!!
After my appointments, i went back to the PICU at St. Marys because I have been following a kid who is going through his bone marrow transplant. So i got to stop in and visit with him, and share stories and try to give him some advice. he is doing awesome. He has his own page except it is on www.carepages.com, and his name is buzz3. that brought some crazy memories of being back in the PICU..
Over the weekend i was home and i did some GEOCACHING!! If you have never heard of it, it is a hobby people do. they go out all over the world and plant a wanterproof container in the woods and you can go find it using your GPS. It is pretty kool. the website for that stuff is www.geocaching.com.
Otherwise i have just been stuyding for school and going to class. I guess today i got to do something really sweet, we got to help the DNR shock fish at George Wyth. that was my first time ever doing or seeing it be done. that was neat! this week otherwise looks like the same ol' same ol' with the exception of having to get Chainsaw Certified again and taking my Pesticide Application tests on friday...
Tuesday, October 2, 2007 3:11 PM CDT This past weekend was a fun yet kind of long adventure!! Last thursday Michelle and I headed to Des Moines, to my brothers house. Once we got there we just hung out and then Cory and Sherrie came. We played a little Nintendo WII and then called it a night. We got up and friday and headed off to the Jordan Creek Mall. We walked around the mall awhile. While we were there i saw the guy that won Last Comic Standing, or so i thought it was him. Later we met up with Mr. Joens and ate lunch. While eating i saw the guy i thought was from Last Comic Standing, i asked everyone if he thought it was him but they had no idea, Michelle and I thought it was him though. I almost went over to ask if it was him but then some guy went up and shook his hand and got his picture with, so i knew it was him! After we, Michelle & I and Cory & Sherrie, ate we headed for Springfield Missouri. We finally got down there later Friday night and waited for my brother Erik to show up. Once he got there we went out and ate and came back to the hotel to play cards. Saturday we went to Bass Pro Shop, out to eat, then played some mini golf! Then headed back to the hotel for some more cards. Sunday got up and packed and took off for home! Back in classes again, with about the same thing day in and day out. This friday i have to rochester for an eye exam of my eye that they had to cut open and take specimens from to check for Leukemia. Then finally this weekend i get to get back to a tree stand and start a new year of SHOOTIN' WHITETAILS!!
Saturday, September 22, 2007 3:36 PM CDT Why hello there..
This past friday was my 6-month checkup at the clinic. It started off early with the usual blood and urine test. then it was time for an Echo cardiogram of my wonderful heart. In the process of all that, i came across some people wearing some Cresco gear and i put 2 & 2 together and thought that it had to the be the Miller family. It was Andrew and his mother. So that was pretty neat to see them and get to talk to them for a while.
After that we got that done it was time we had so we went over to St. Marys to see if anybody was around. And by golly I got to see MARY-the housecleaner, boy was she glad to see me!!! and of course i was excited to see her as well.. then it was time to eat and head back to the clinic for my appointment with my doctor. She said everything went great and that I was not do back for another 6months. Other then all of that, im just getting back in the flow of everything with classes and what not.
So i will talk to you later.
Thursday, September 6, 2007 9:58 AM CDT WoW what a nice sweet trip! Just got back from the Boundary Waters on a 5-Day Canoe trip. Had a great time being out in the WiLd. Each day we would get up around 6:00am and clean up camp and then canoe and portage to the next lakes until we would get to the camp area that we wanted. Did some fishing and a lot of just walking around in the woods. I even found a deer shed, the antler from a deer, too bad I couldn't keep it do to the LEAVE NO TRACE RULES. It was a huge downer because once we got there, we found out there was a Burn Band so we were not able to have any fires. So no smores and roasted marshmellows... Now I just have to get back in the flow of being in school and going to class everyday, well everyday except FRIDAY.. Oh yeah that will mean 3-day hunting and fishing trips. Well new pictures for my page are at Wal*Mart getting developed so give me a few days and there will finally be new ones up.
Thursday, August 23, 2007 3:47 PM CDT Well classes have started and things are going great! Been doing alot of training for our big BOUNDARY WATERS TRIP. This week has been pretty busy with just getting back in the flow of classes and then working at Menards everynight. I could use a vacation to the wilderness.
I thought I was going to have my first easy semester because I only had 16 credits but then I found out on the third day that I needed to pick up a class now or in the spring that was madatory for my graduation. So that bumped me back up to 19 credits this semester...
I am still working for the DNR on the weekends for a little while so that will be fun to get to do that on my three day weekends.
Monday, August 13, 2007 5:52 PM CDT Hey,
Well it has been awhile since my last update. I am not around the internet where I am currently living for the summer so I dont get to check my internet things very often. The summer is down to its last week for me becasue i start classes on the 20th again. So I have one full week left as being a Law Enforcement Officer for the IOWA DNR. Once I start school I go to working just on the weekends. The first week I am mostly training and getting everything ready for out big trip to the BOUNDARY WATERS. That will be a fun time and Im excited for that week! I just turned 20 yesterday and yet I still look like im 16??? Its a bad deal.... I have a my big 6-Month-Check-Up coming up in Septemeber! So that will be fun to get up and try to see the docs and nurses again.
Monday, July 2, 2007 7:10 PM CDT Wow it has been awhile. I do not have access to the internet in the State House. Therefore I do not get to check things out. I am in the process of getting some new photos of me on the job and of our house and good stuff.
Work is going great! And let me tell ya, crime just dont ever sleep. Getting to meet alot of people and do some fun things with this job. I even have to go to court to handle a situation I ran into this summer.
other than really I do not have much to mention. catch ya later
Wednesday, June 6, 2007 9:19 AM CDT Well this summer is going great! I love my job and the people I work with are fun to be around. Last week was my official first 40 hour work week. I even wrote some citations on the first day, that is a good start. But I am gonna have a blast this summer. I'm working on trying to get some photos up on here of my house and truck and all the goodies. My days consist of patrolling Lakeview OHV park, which is the ATV park that I do most of my Law Enforcing. I also patrol around Hawkeye Wildlife Management Area looking for people on ATVs or doing things that they should not be doing. I even go with the Water Officers at times and go check fishermen and boaters to see if they are in compliance with the laws and regulations.
Wednesday, May 16, 2007 9:01 PM CDT Well I am officially a Law Enforcement Officer for the Iowa DNR. Now I go by: Officer Kruger, Iowa DNR. This past week I have began my training for my job. It is a lot of information but I am anxious to learn and get out to the job and start patrolling.
This summer is going to be the biggest FOOT IN THE DOOR for my Career with the DNR as far as becoming a Conservation Officer!! Its amaing and it is goign to be so much fun!
Wednesday, May 9, 2007 10:24 PM CDT I finally finished up my first year of college! Grades come out tomorrow--I'm hoping for the Deans list again, but not holding my breath! This weekend I'm going down to Iowa City to get all of my equiptment for my training and my job. Sunday I'm going back to Riceville for Mother's Day! Sunday night I'll be heading to Des Moines..next week I start my ATV officer training at Camp Dodge. I've been helping Michelle move into her new place--we'll be all finished up tomorrow!
KOKO --> KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 12:33 AM CDT Well all the excitement has kind of died down for the meantime.. Since I last wrote, i did go home and get my turkey stuff ready to go. Cory was home so dad-cory-i picked up the yard. Last week during our class went out to Hickory Hills and cleaned up the pens for the animals and Me and a buddy got to take a sludge hammer to a large concrete pen. I instantly got blood blisters and blisters on every finger but i can tell ya i had some serious fun just smashing the snot out of that pen!! It was a 2-day project and on day 2 my fingers could hardly hold the sludge hammer!!! This Past weekend i attended a 2-day certification class for IoWater, which was a class taught by the Iowa DNR on Water Quality and Water Testing. Now i can test water for the State and be accredited. This is my last week of school and next week my finals start. Can't hardly believe i basically got 1 year in the books already. I can't wait to get home to do some turkey hunting this saturday!!! More importantly right is i really want to start my new job as an ATV - OFFICER!!!! It is going to be fun working for the IOWA DNR!!!
Friday, April 13, 2007 10:13 AM CDT
Well this past week I have probably done what of the koolest things in my life. First in my class we got to examine and disect Owl Pellets to find out what they had been eating. I guess there is a 1st time for everything. We went out to a Quarry where there were some Trumpeter Swans. Our mission was to capture them and realese them in other areas to help raise the population. We were working with the Trumpeter Swan Project out of Clear Lake. Anyways we set up a little fence and we kind of pushed them into the fence area and then placed them kennels to transport. We also had to use extremely large nets and boats to catch the stragglers that didnt go to the fence. Once we had them captured we got to hold them and that was the koolest thing to be able to hold a huge Trumpeter Swan.
The day after that was the day that was snowing hard and we went out at 7:00am to a farmers back woods and planted Willows along the river banks to help prevent erosion. That was pretty neat as well. It looks like next we are going out to help do some chainsawing again. Also next week I have an IoWater Certifcation, so that I can be certified to test water quaility the right way. I even get to help out with the Earth Fair, where people from the public come and learn how to fish, canoe, kayak and other outdoor activites. So i have been really quite busy down here with all our projects and plus working at the good 'ol MENARDS!!!!
This weekend I am going home b/c I need to get all of my Turkey Hunting supplies ready and shoot the Bow a little bit. Also got to go out in the mornings to scout around and listen to see where the Turkeys are at this year..
Its all pretty exciting!!!
Thursday, March 29, 2007 12:12 AM CDT Well really not too much has changed since my last entry. Basically everything is a repeat. I go to class every day and work at Menards a few days a week, which pays really nicely!!
Classes are still going awesome. Just started my Equipment Operations class. Which is probably about the koolest klass possible. We just stroll out start cruisin campus on the loader tractor and skid loader. we also do some pushin of dirt. But alot more of dinking around with the little utility vehicles and sweet rides. On the other I do wish that I would be on my last semester at Upper Iowa and about to graduate so I can start getting into my CAREER LIFE!!
Friday Michelle & I are going to be kookin' up some good ol' Mississippi fish. this saturday a buddy of mine and I are going to Upper Iowa University for an open house of the campus and what not. Once I get back, Michelle and I are going to "The Hills Have Eyes 2". then on sunday we plan to be making HOME-MADE Chicken Noodle Soup...
That is agendi for awhile.
TURKEY SEASON IS LESS THAN 3 WEEKS AWAY
Monday, March 12, 2007 9:14 PM CDT HOWDY THERE AGAIN,
Well let me tell ya, the last 2 weeks have been pretty exciting!!! Last weekend, it was a friend's birthday so we went out to eat and then did some bowling followed with some hanging out at Michelle's apartment.
Like i said in my last entry, i was excited about my letter i got for my WPO / ATV Officer jobs. I got an interview and that same day got an interview for Cerro Gordo County Conservation board, which was followed the next day with a call about an interview for Back Bone State Park.. Whoofta that was a prett sweet 24 hour!!
So this past Thursday i drove up to Mason City for my Cerro Gordo interview, and it went really quite well. This weekend I had a wedding in Riceville to go to. At the dance i made $5.00 b/c i ate a goldfish.. that was the easiest/nutrious $5.00 i ever made.
Sunday it was off to Ames for my WPO / ATV officer interview to work for the State DNR.. I was so pumped and excited for this interview, it trully is mydream job for a summer. I showed up and i rolled in to a room with 7 Iowa DNR officers which surrounded me and just started asking me questions. I was nervous at first but then quickly relaxed and felt really confident that they were interested in me and that i presented myself well. They told me they would call this week sometime to let me know. Well after that i went to stay with Erin & Joy in Des Moines. After only being done with my interview or 2 hours, they called and i got an ATV OFFICER job in Coralville for the summer. They even said i get t stay with a kid from Missouri in a 2 story house. SWEET SWEET
THAT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE!!! After that just chilled with Erin and i left late this afternoon but not before teaching my brother how to tie a tie and help tie all of his ties!!!!
This week i start working at MENARDS, and also i am on break all week. It has just been a great past few weeks!!!
Monday, February 26, 2007 8:40 PM CST HoWdY
Well last thursday I ventured homeward because of my appointment on friday at Mayo. As the story goes, i got home thursday and right away dad and i took off after some good eatin bunny rabbits. It was a pretty good night, i was able to harvest 7 rabbits that night.
friday mom and i headed up to Mayo for just an easy & quick check-up. Got up there aroun 12ish and had my blood drawn. then we had about 1 1/2 hours before i saw my doctor, so we headed over to St. Marys hostpital to see if any of my old nurses or child services ladies and even looked for MARY!!! I only got to see 2 nurses, tammy and amy. all the others were newbys to my eyes but i did get to see Johanna from child services. Good 'ol Mary was at lunch when we got there...
It was then time to grab a quick lunch and go see the doctor. She told me all was great and that now i am to the point of my protocall that i only have to go in every 6 months. She was telling me about how glad they are to see all the time and that part of it was because of how i handled it all and really just flew right through it all where as most kids have a real tough time.
The weekend was quite a storm, woofta!! I made it safely back down here sunday afternoon. Today for some reason, we were ever so fortunate not to have any classes cuz the college was closed down.
Today Michelle and i went to Wal*Mart to get OUR pictures taken because WE thought it would be neat to get OUR pictures taken for OUR 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! so we did, it was only $5.00.
The best news it the week came today in the mail, a nice little white envelope that contained a letter from the IOWA DNR, saying i was one of those to be seleceted for an interview about getting a job as a WATER PATROL OFFICER (WPO). that is the #1 job i have wanted since i have started looking and applying!!! i know i still have a long shot to actaully get the job but i at least i got an interview!!!!!
To top that off, i even got an email from Cerro Gordo County saying they want me for an interview to work in their parks for this summer!! This has just been a GGGRREEAATT DAY!!!!!!
Later Gator
Wednesday, February 14, 2007 7:43 PM CST HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
This past weekend I went home to take care of some business, and while at home I got to hang out with my little stud (Logan)!! I even got some one-on-one time with my Pops. We went bunny hunting and ended up getting 6 and by golly they made a good Sunday dinner!
Then I came back to Waterloo and my buddy Shane came over and he brought us over some prime ribs to eat! We played darts, Xbox, and a little heads up poker.
Schools going good and I finally got pictures up on the website (I finally found out how to put them up)!!
Sunday, February 4, 2007 12:17 AM CST Wow yet another week goes by and honestly didnt do too much of anything. Mon. Tues. Wed. i am honestly packed with school then straight to work!!! Those make for longs days.
This weekend my parents came down here to see the 'PAD' and we did some shopping and dida little eating out. Today i am off to greene to watch the super bowl at my buddys place to shoot the bull and play some cards while we watch the game!!

Wednesday, January 24, 2007 9:38 PM CST Hey!!
Well I got a letter in the mail from Hawkeye the other day and by golly it said i made the DEAN's LIST. My GPA was 3.765, so that wasnt to shabby, was really shooting for the 4.0 but biffed my math final...
Other then that I really dont have anything too exciting. Just go to class the work and in between i find time to beat Dick in darts or xbox!!!
Have a good one everybody!
Sunday, January 7, 2007 9:16 PM CST Well my big break is finally over. I guess it is abot time, and now im not ready to get back into the swing of things especially with my pretty tough and llloonngg schedule of classes!!!
On my break i basically did nothing but hang out at home and did some hunting. I did at least shoot an 8-Point buck that had lots of good meat that we made into steaks and burger..
Now i just have to get back into the swing of thigns for school and work and hopfully after about a week or two all is going good and i got my routine down and it all works out for me.
Take care
Monday, December 4, 2006 9:03 AM CST Well it has been awhile since i have wrote and also since i have had to go to work. So i thought seeings that i have to go back to work tonight i should write on here again.. Not having to work the last 2 weeks have been great, i have had so much free time and i have got alot of school stuff done and done some pre-studying done for my finals.
Tonight at work i finally start over to a cashier..oh fun fun. School has gone great so far and is still going good for me. I love it just wished it was done and i had my BA and was in the DNR field working... I only got 1 week of classes left then next week are my FINALS. Up to this point as of just before Thanksgiving break, i have all A's so i think i can hold strong and finish great.
Not sure how that Dean's List works, i'm pretty sure it goes by percentage so i might not make it cuz i dont know how high my A's are but i think i can pull off all A's at least. This weekend Logan and Mindy came down for a night. Logan was just loving it here, he had so much room to run around and play with some baseballs but mostly he had the PS2 to play..
Well ya all have a great week!
Sunday, November 19, 2006 4:50 PM CST Another week done but it was a fast and fun one! I had no classes on friday which allowed to me get back home thursday night. Thursday was my fun day with my classes because again we got to go out and help the ' Leisure Activities ' of Waterloo, cut down more trees and brush to widen up a prairie area in Katoski Park. Other then those two things the week was the same with the work and school. The weekend was a quick one because i realize it is over now and here i sit and have been sitting for the past 3 hours doing homework at the library.. whoopie!!! This week is only a 2 day week for classes which is nice thanks to Thanksgiving!!!
Monday, November 6, 2006 9:21 AM CST Well another week goes by but this one had a little more excitement to it. For starters at work on monday they had told me that they had to let me go from working in grocery because my availabilty isn't enough to work there so now i will start being a cash register dude.. Oh yippie!! Walmart is such a dumb store and let me tell ya, you NEVER want to work there!! i still cant belive i ever filled out an application to there....
Tuesday I volunteered to work at a HaUnTeD hOuSe at the Rotary Reserve! It was called " PANIC PARK " i was the in a mask like the - Texan Chainsaw - guy, then i was in the last room and go to run with my chainsaw going and scaring people out of the house.
This weekend I came again because on friday i had my checck-up at MAYO. So i got up there and i only had to get a blood draw and then talk to my doctor. So we did the blood work and then went out to eat then back to the doctor. All the counts were great the only thing was that i had gain some weight since the last i was there????? Then they gave me a FLU shot and i left.
Saturday i did some bowhunting and again no BIG BUCKS... But i did talk with a guy and got some hunting permission to a sweet new area. Sunday morning, i decided to shoot a doe so when some does came through i decided to pull back stick one, which i did and she dropped about 40 yards from where i hit her, perfect shot!
This week i will be getting chainsaw certified by people from Stihl and then i will be chainsawing on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail.
Sunday, October 29, 2006 6:04 PM CST Another week goes by and yet again it was the same 'ol stuff with school and work. Except I got the help the DNR/Walleye club brand 1,200 walleyes and realese them into George Wyth. So that was pretty exciting for me. Friday I came home and got ready for a big morning of bowhunting on saturday. I seen only a few deer and only little bucks. About 10:30-11:00 a bunch of kids came walking through the woods with their dogs and came right up to me and started talking to me. I was really quite upset!! They were pheasant hunting I guess, not sure how many pheasants they were going to shoot in the middle of the woods???
Saturday afternoon i came back here and went to Michelle's brothers house for a little Halloween custume party. i was so kool and dressed up as a Walmart worker! haha Michelle was a DEAL or NO DEAL lady..
Today i have been in the library at hawkeye since about 2:15 and its now almost 6:15.. wow thats a long time to be here working on projects. That also means my tummy is growling and i am looking at my choices of what to eat tonight???
this week will have a little bit of excitment it in b/c monday i am volunteering to help clear a trail, thursday i am going to a REAP conference. Which REAP stands for: Resource Enhancement and Protection. Friday right after my morning class i am heading home because i have my appointment at Mayo. Haven't been there in a long time.. It should all be as good as last!!
Sunday, October 22, 2006 6:28 PM CDT Well it has been really a busy time down here lately, that's why i have not written on here. It seems busy yet again it seems like i do nothing but go to class then to work and then try to study.. But I believe all my grades are in the A range just not sure on one of them, so 5-6 classes are A's that shouldnt be too bad but like i said i think one may be an A maybe not..
This past weekend i went homeon thursday night b/c we had no classes on friday due to the midterm. So i got to go home and do some bowhunting all weekend. Didn't get a big buck but i did see some deer everytime i was out there in the morning and afternoons.
Michelle and I just got done making and baking our first cake down here! I can't wait to start munching on that baby in a little while after it kools off..
This week is more of the usual work-class kind of stuff. This friday i will be going to Mayo for my check up! I think it should be all good and clear!
Other then that i shall talk to ya later...
Friday, October 6, 2006 7:08 PM CDT Well this past week has been kind of a crazy one. First off, last weekend we went to Des Moines for Light The Night Walk which was again pretty neat.
Once i finally got back down here to waterloo sunday night i had a hard time sleeping because my tooth was bothering me. So monday morning after my class i went into a dentist place i saw and told them about my tooth and fortunately they got me in right away. After taking X-rays they seen that i had decay in my tooth and it was into the nerve system so they said i needed a root canal. I was like ... um ok get at it i got class in 3 hours! So we got going on it and about mid way through the secretary came in and said i had no insurance b/c for some reason my insurance was messed up with me being in school so they had to stop and just fill the hole. They told me to come back once i got that figured out so that it wouldnt cost nearly as much.. so two days later i went back and got it finished! Pretty crazy. Other then that nothing too exciting, just working Walmart Mon-Tues-Wed and school every day. I got my paycheck thursday so that was nice to see some money coming my way! This weekend i plan to hang low and catch up on sleep and do some serious homework!
Wednesday, September 27, 2006 9:49 AM CDT Well just another week in the books.. Nothing too exciting has happend in the past week. Just the usual going to school every day and the work right after.
I will say that it isn't so bad working at Walmart now but i would still rather not work there, but i only work Mon-Wed so it doesnt take up all of study time.
This thursday is my outdoor rec. canoe trip. That is my excite for the week.
This weekend is our homecoming so i will be home for that. This saturday though, we will go to Des Moines for a Light The Night walk and stay at my brother Erin's house.
Otherwise college is still going great and have a nice day
Monday, September 18, 2006 9:19 AM CDT Whoofta...
What a WEEKEND!!!! Well last friday after our classes were over, Michelle and I heading home for the weekend. As soon as i got home, I mowed our yard and my grandmas yard. THen it was time for the football game at school. That was pretty kool to get to see alot of friends from "high school" and get to hang out after the game and talk..
Saturday morning Michelle and I headed for St. Paul. We had no troubles getting to our hotel. We did some shopping in the Rosedale shopping center and then we decided to go check out Mystic Lake Casino!! I would have to say i like Treasure Island way better then Mystic..
Sunday, the BIG GAME!!! We left about 10 cuz the game was at 12 so we thought we would have plenty of time to get there and get in and watch 'em warm up.. Well we were right, it only took us 9 minutes to leave hotel and park in the ramp and be walking across the road to the Metrodome. We had some awsome seats, and where we were sitting i would rather sit there then anywhere else i think.. had a sweet UP-CLOSE view of everything.
When the players came out that place was so electrifying it even gave me the hibbity gibbitys and the shivers.. It was sweet! That place was so loud and crazy but it was just too kool or somthing... i loved it and i aint even a big Vikings fan, but i was hooting and holling for them.
We made on the big screen for a long time but i guess that is only showed inside and not on TV so we never got showed on FOX.. It didnt even take long at all to get out of there and be on our way home. I really gotta thank CARLA for really making this weekend be so FUN AND EXCITING! i will try to put up some pictures from the game later on.. Well i have to work at Walmart this afternoon so i think i will have a busy day so i best be going now..
Monday, September 11, 2006 4:09 PM CDT Hello there again..
Another week down and once again the week was quite fun and interesting.. Last thursday my outdorr recreation techniques class went out to Hickory Hills and we discussed canoe tips and skills. We then got to get in canoes and paddle around the lake then we practiced falling in and getting back in the canoe.
Last friday night michelle and I ate at Peppers for her brothers birthday. Saturday michelle and I went to charles city for a wedding then came back to waterloo that night. Sunday was a gloomy day b/c it was rainy all day but at least i got my laundry down thanks to Michelle!
TOday it rained all day until late late this afternoon. One of my professors said they measured 2 inches over the weekend and 4 inches+ since she last poured it out.. so i would say we have gotten alot of rain down this way.. Gas is pretty cheap too, its $2.23 at my gas station.
Tomorrow night i have orientation at Walmart to learn my jobs or whatever. So i will start work there with-in the week i am sure, but i am going to check out another job somewhere else next week.. This weekend will be pretty exciting for me, because i will go to my first Pro football game ever. Michelle and I are going to the Vikings vs. Panthers! Should be pretty kool. We will be in the endzone 3 rows up.. maybe just maybe we can have a kool sign or somthing and make it on TV!
Wednesday, September 6, 2006 8:07 PM CDT Well over the holiday weekend I went back to Riceville. It kind of felt weird being home.. We had our annual family reunion so I basically was camping all weekend. On saturday I guess I did get out on my four wheeler, that felt good to be back on, and went to the woods to check my tree stands and do some trimming for the hunting season.
Monday I came back and I did not have any classes 'til 12:00 on Tuesday. Today i got back in the swing of things and am ready to get studying even harder. I had my first quiz in math today. Um the rest of the week is going to involve some school and this weekend my cuzin gets married so i will head up to that..
otherwise pretty same 'ol same 'ol around here...
take care
Thursday, August 31, 2006 5:24 PM CDT Howdy once again..
Well since I have last wrote i have had my 2nd interview and i am hired as long as my drug test passed this morning... My drug test, thats a funny story.. I got up and went over to take my drug test before class today and when i got there i went in to pee in the cup and by golly i peed but not enough and she said i had to dump it out and try over in a little bit..
That sucked because I had to stay in the room and had to be done before the time limit of 3 hours. Also i had to be at class at 10:00 and it was like 8:50. so i sat by the culligan jug and i kid you not, i bet i drank close to a gallon of that water in about 40 minutes. I waited til 9:30 to pee again. I had been feeling the urge to go but i knew if i went and it wasnt enough i would not have enough time to try again and get to class.. well i did have enough and i did make it to class at 10:00. thats hustle baby!
Today i had 3 classes and only one of them i actually had a professor. My morning class we were on our own in groups and then alone typing a paper because our professor is in the boundary waters for the trip they do every year for the Outdoor rec class im in. At noon my algebra class my plan was to just take attendance then hand in my work for the week and leave.. as she was done with roll call and asking questions she saw me and laughed about me holding my work and said it looks like i am ready to go home. i said right back " can I b/c i am done for the week?" she said well i suppose and before i knew every person in the class except for 1 got up and left. so i basically got us out of algebra for the day!
This weekend we have a yearly family reunion out at Lake Hendricks. So i suppose i should head home for the weekend. Its going to be different being home for the first time since i left for college..
well i hope you all have a great weekend and travel safe and have lots of fun!!!!
Tuesday, August 29, 2006 5:28 PM CDT Well its only about 2 days since I last wrote and I am still loving COLLEGE!! I just love the experience and the new knowledge. I think it might be really kool because I am only studying the things i want to study. Plus my professor is awesome!
My interview at Walmart went really well on Monday and they have called me back arlready for a 2nd interview! Today we had Fall Festival at the colletge so we all got as much free pizza and pop as we wanted and also they gave us calculators. They were different booths there for free things and you were able to sign up for different things. The Army and Marines and what not were all there. They had their obstacle course set up. Along with the bungy run thing we had at prom and some fun blow josting stands.
We just got our cable hooked up and along with our internet. Except we never got a router so we are going to buy one now so i am have the internet in my room as well.. well i will talk to ya later..
Sunday, August 27, 2006 7:44 PM CDT Hello to all....
Well I have officially just finished my first week of college and about to start my 2nd week. So far i am just loving college and the freedom i have. I love my life style down here.
Friday my room mate and I and Michelle and some other friends hug out at the towers. We sat around talking about school, had just a good 'ol time.
Saturday I had an interview with Target Distribution Center. I went the whole process and then found out "officially" that I couldn't work there. I knew going in that i would never be able because it was seasonal work so they needed people for 36-40 hours a week. So after all the questions and what not, we discussed when i could work and they laughed because we could have discussed that in the beginning and i could have not had to go through it all. But it was good practice and i had 2 pretty funny and kool guys interviewing me.
Then I attending a wedding/reception in Charles City with Michelle. Sunday, today made a big breakfast including pancakes - scrambled eggs - bacon!!! It was yummy in my tummy. Then just sat around and then I went over to Michelle's and she did MY LAUNDRY!!!
Got class in the morning at 8:00 so I need to go look over some plants. I also have an interview at Walmart tomorrow afternoon.. So i will keep ya updated!
Take care and enjoy
Wednesday, August 23, 2006 1:56 PM CDT Well college is going great! I love it, it is way kooler then high school. you have so much free time and you get to come and go as you please.. I am enjoying my classes.
Last night i read a chapter in a book to myself 3 times. that is more then i read all of my high school career.. ha ha.. I am able to work ahead in my math class so I have been, so i am done with my work for the next 3 days or so.
i have met alot of pretty nice people... it is actually like high school in some of my classes when we get to joking around and saying dumb stuff to eachother..
Mondays-Wednesdays are the same for me, easy because i only have one class at 8:00 then two classes from 12-2.. Then i am done. But Tuesdays and Thursdays are packed. Yesterday i was here from 10:00-4:00 with back to back classes. It wasn't too bad but when i was done i was ready to be done..
Last night Dick and I were up late playing darts and X-Box! Well I am done for the day and i am just chilling in the lab. If i go home, i can either play PS2-X-Box or watch 1 of our 3 channels we get... so i think i will hang here for a bit to play some games..
Next tuesday though, we get our cable internet hooked up so then we can watch TV and play on our computers..
Talk to ya later
Monday, August 21, 2006 2:04 PM CDT well it has been awhile since my last update. I have been quite bored but then things got interesting and i forgot to write on here.
well i had my birthday and now i am 19! Um last week my brother Erik came up. so i got to see my little neice. we Hung out at mom and dads for most of the week. But One day we put up and moved around all my tree stands. One day we went up to Cory's house and then once up to Grandma and Grandpas in Wisconsin.
Last friday everybody went to the river for a day on the water. we tubed all day and went through the lock and dam and had a shore lunch. The day started out just down pouring rain. but it turned out to be pretty nice.
saturday i came down here to waterloo to move in for good! I started classes today. I am pretty excited for college. It will be lots of fun and good times, i can tell already!
well i dont know too much else, and besides i have some home work to do!

Thursday, August 3, 2006 9:53 AM CDT Wow another week done, and absolutely nothing accomplished! Well i shouldn't say that because last weekend i did go out to Cory's house and move him in all day on saturday. So that took my whole weekend because we left late friday and came back mid afternoon sunday.
This week I play some golf with a kid and won $10.00. THen we played some X-Box at his house and i ending up mooching food and pop from him all afternoon!
Wednesday i went to Rockwell with Michelle to pick up a dress she is going to wear next week at a wedding. Friday i am going to help Michelle move into her apartment. Saturday is Wapsi Day here in town.
That is what my future looks like as of now..
Take it EaSy
Wednesday, July 26, 2006 5:55 PM CDT Howdy, I have been really un busy! In the past week I have applied at 3 spots in Covenant Hospital in Waterloo and have done alot of sitting around the house watching tv. The past couple of days me and my friend 'BIRD' have been chilling together playing poker and watching our football season along with a little tv surfing.
Those pictures of us tubing/boating were from last weekend. that was a pretty good time. over the next week or so, my plans look pretty wide open and up for about anything that gets me off the couch!!

Friday, July 14, 2006 7:02 PM CDT Yes it has been awhile since my last update. I guess I have actaully been kind of busy from time to time. Oh last weekend i stayed at my place and got myself a blockbuster card. I did some shopping and got denied on a job again. Menards in Waterloo is not hiring at this. So the next time i go down there, I am going to try an apply at Allen Hospital doing something..
THis past week dad and I did some fishing on the Mississippi river. Tuesday and Wednesday night i had slowpitch softball out at the lake. THursday we went to Cory's new house then stayed over at my grandpa and grandmas house. Tonight im going to go over to the fair and then hit the late show for the Pirates of the Carribean 3 or whatever...
Friday, June 30, 2006 9:36 AM CDT Well yesterday I went up to Rochester for my every 3 month appointment, except this one was an all dayer.. Got up to Mayo Clinic about 7:00, and i got an Eco Cardio Gram thing of my heart. Then it was off to do my Pulmnary Breathing Function tests. Then we grabbed a quick donut and and some fruit from the cafeteria. After we ate it was time to go give blood.
They lady STUCK her needle in my arm and wiggled it around for a bit but it wasnt working so she pulled it out and STUCK my other arm which seemed to work just fine and dandy! Once i was done with the needles and blood we went to go find Nikki who was in the clinic for her own tests. We all talked for a bit but then it was off to my Bone Density testing, from there i traveled over to get my eyes checked and dialated. After all of that I got to see my Nurse Practisioner, where she told me i was doing great and my breathing tests were so good that i was literally of the charts! THats nothing unusual though, i guess i am used to being off the charts at most things.... Today is good 'ol Friday and Michelle and I are heading up to Red Wing to take a tour of Treasure Island, resort and CASINO!!! I will be doing some fishing with my daddy this weekend and a little camping over the 4th with some friends then things will die down again for awhile....
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 6:03 PM CDT Well over the past week I have went to Logan's birthday party and another wedding with Michelle.. I have been looking around for a nice CHEAP car that will get me some decent gas mileage. I found a car that will do just that over in Osage at McKinelys. I picked up a cheap Mercury Sable,1987.. HOT DIGGITY! Last night I played Men's Slowpitch and today I got my licsense plates for my new car. This weekend I might go tubing but i know for sure that I am going to a Light the Night Cancer Walk in St. Ansgar..
Monday, June 12, 2006 6:31 PM CDT Yeah its been awhile...
I have finished all of my picking rock and put my money in the bank to earn interest at like .05% or somthing... This week is a big week for me. Wednesday is Logan's birthday but also the day I move in to my apartment. Not only that but that is the day I set my class schedule at Hawkeye.
Tuesday I have to go to Hawkeye to take an English test because I never took it and I need to take it in order for me to go to Hawkeye.. I will pick up some applications at some stores while I am there tomorrow and fill them out in hopes of someone wants to hire me.
Saturday I have Logans birthday party and also I get to go to a wedding party with Michelle. So basically I am just waiting anxiously to move in MY apartment and start my new chapter in life..
Thursday, May 25, 2006 3:54 PM CDT ! WOW !
Well I surely had enjoyed my last days of high school.. I do not believe that I will miss high school other then the football season. I might miss the fact that is was really quite a breeze and fun.
Over the past week I have been attending many graduations and i even threw my own graduation party. Graduatoin at the school went well and it feels good knowing that I am moving on in my life. Especially since just 1 year ago i wasn't even sure if i was ever going to play football or even go to school again...
This past week, myself and Richard have found a place to live in Waterloo. He is down signing our lease today. Nice 2 bedroom apartment with a huge living room!
Now I just have to finish picking rock and collect my $$$$ and put it in the bank, then head down to Waterloo to find me a nice job and start to work for a living.
Sunday, May 7, 2006 9:13 PM CDT Well this past friday we went over to Mindy's graduation from Hamilton over in Mason City, then went out to eat. Saturday Cory and I went golfing then I went to Michelle's Spring Concert at school, where she sang for choir and played in the band. After the concert Michelle and I rented " Wrong Turn", which was really good movie.
Sunday we had my grandma's 90th birthday party over at church. After that Michelle, Kayla and I went to Pizza Hut and once i got home, i went out quick and golfed 6 hours before it got too dark. Tomorrow I have no school due to Conference golf in St. Ansgar.. yippie
Well just about done with the k-12 school experience, only 7 days left!!!!!!
Wednesday, April 26, 2006 12:12 AM CDT Well what a big eventful weekend I had this past week. Saturday was our big PROM but first things first, I got up Saturday morning to go turkey hunting with Cory. Again called in turkeys but this time their eyes caught some hens and other toms across the field so they only hung out there about 50-60 yards. We heard them all morning and were surrounded by them the whole morning but only got to watch them from inside the blind...
But later on that day around 2:00 p.m., I got ready and suited up. Went out to Michelle's to pick her up and take pictures. Then hit up my house and both of our grandparent's houses. It was off to Grand March now!
After Michelle and I went through, Me and a bunch of my buddies went and walked down again for one last time... After the Grand March our limo came and there were 10 of us that went in that. We went to Mason City and ate at Applebees. Actual prom started at 8:00 and we stayed there til about 12:30, then went home quickly to change and head over to school for post prom. Played cards and games there til about 4:30. I ended up with some pretty sweet prizes. After post prom we all stayed at a friends house. The End
Thursday, April 20, 2006 12:04 AM CDT Hello
Well I haven't wrote in a while. I guess my life is just so boring these days... Last week was our week off for spring break. Started good with me taking my compass test on monday and then i figured i would just turkey hunt every day after that. Well tuesday i found out that my little buddy Anthony wasn't in very good shape. So mom and I went up to see him tuesday. It was really really hard for me to see him like he was. That I think was the hardest thing I ever have had to do. I had to say good-bye to my little buddy for good.. The next day after we had seen him, he passed away. He had Leukemia like me but he had a philadophia cromosome that makes it really really hard to cure. He had gone through everything I did but much much more. Check out his page: http://www.caringbridge.org/mn/atford/
After that, my week off was a bum few days. I did go to Scary Movie 4 on Friday. Saturday and Sunday i was at my grandpa and grandma's house in Wisconsin. Monday we had spring fest in school. We had speakers and then i went bowling all afternoon.
This weekend is our BIG PROM but also i get a different cell phone!!! So this weekend should be a lot of fun but also very tiring.
Friday, April 7, 2006 11:06 AM CDT Howdy...
Well since i have last wrote, I have started golf and I have seen the movie " Ice Age 2. Meltdown ".. My routine schedule of every day is to go to school and then to golf practice, with the occasional meets during the week.
Today was a new experience for me. I had to go get my BABY SHOTS. I got 2 shots in one arm and 2 in the other. It actually hurt, i was surprised. The bad thing is that I have to get more in June and then in 1 year.
This weekend I will be out scouting some turkeys and all next week we have no school so i will be hunting every day!
Gobble Gobble..
Monday, March 27, 2006 8:40 AM CST Aloha !
Well well well... where should i begin. Well the friday of march 17, we left for Bloomington Minnesota. We stayed in a suite on the other side of the road from the Mall of America. Saturday morning rolled around and we got shuttled to the airport.
We took off on our plane and had a quick 2 hour flight to Salt Lake City, Utah. From there we got on another plane and flew to Honolulu, which only took about 6 hours. The flights out there weren't bad because I sat by a window the whole way out.
Once we got to Honolulu we were greeted by a native woman. As I approached I got "LEID" And so the adventure began. We then got shuttled to AVIS car rental and picked up our Mini Van. On our way to our motel, i found out that the island wasn't anything like i had expected. The city was dirty and had lots of places that were run down and boarded up.
We stayed at the Waikiki Outrigger On The Beach hotel. Our rooms had nice views of the Ocean. As soon as we got to the hotel, michelle and I went down to the ocean. I was freaked at first because of the rocks and things you touch on bottom. Also the water was nasty tasting. It took me about 3 days to get used to the bottom and salt in the water.
Sunday Michelle's Great Uncle and Aunt live there and they took us to a kool resteraunt on the beach were we had breakfast. It started to rain while we ate and by the time we were done eating the streets were filled with water up to the sidewalk. They took us to their house and at times i did not think that we would make it through the water. You could just feel the water on your feet under the car. But when we went back to our hotel the sun came out and the rain soaked up and it was a perfect sunny day out. So Michelle and I went swimming again. At night we went out and ventured the streets. It was a crazy place at night. All sorts of people come out to the sidewalk to try an make money.
Monday came and we got picked up to go parasailing. That was a blast. When your up in the air, its so neat to see the ocean floor and the coral and then the Deep Blue water. I kind of got a little sea sick from watching Erin and Joy parasail because the boat was just up and down pretty bad.
Tuesday we went on a helicopter tour of the island. That was pretty boring I thought. I had pretty much got to see everything when we flew in on the plane. But it was kool to fly over Pearl Harbor and see some of the waterfalls in the forests.
Wednesday was probably the best day of all. We went snorkling. It was sweet to be in the water with the little fishys. I took lots of pictures of fish. Later that night we went to a Lu-owh.. The ride to the Lu-owh was fun b/c we had an awsome host on the bus telling jokes.
Thursday michelle, dad, and i went with michelles uncle dale to go eat and get a tour of the school he taught at. Later on we went on a dinner cruise at night. That lasted 2 hours and we went out in the big ocean and saw some huge waves. Had a buffet there and did some dancing.
Friday we hung out and went back to the airport and got on the plane for 7 hours.. We took off they said it was 78 degress and 2 degrees in Minnesoplis...
That was my MAKE-A-WISH
Friday, March 17, 2006 9:37 AM CST Well 1 day to go before I enter a plane that will take me to Salt Lake City, Utah, which from there I shall aboard another plane that will take me to Honolulu, Hawaii. Tonight we get to stay in a suite in Bloomington Minnesota. We leave tomorrow morning.
Yesterday I had my 1 YEAR CHECK-UP! Wow! What a difference 1 year can be. It sure is hard to believe that it has been 1 year already. Most of last year was a blur. Oh well it made the year go back quicker and now here I am, a senior with only like 40 days left of school!
It sure was awesome yesterday to get to see all my doctors and my faveritest phone picker upper/appointment making ladies. We all got to talk for a nice amount of time. It was just really great to get to talk with the 'ol gang again.
The counts were at their highest ever! My immune system looks to be pretty much back to normal. Now my next step is to get my baby shots once I get back from Hawaii.
My week schedule
Saturday--Fly to Hawaii Sunday---Chill out in hotel Monday--Parasailing Tuesday--Helicopter Tour of the Islands Wednesday-Snorkling Thursday--Dinner Cruise Friday--Evening, head back to Minneapolis on straight flight back.
Friday, March 10, 2006 1:18 PM CST Well lately I have actually been pretty easy going. I haven't done too much. Last weekend I went to Final Destination 3, which is probably the best movie I have seen in a long time. I watched Logan on saturday and then went bowling saturday night. This weekend I plan to go to the movie "The Hills Have Eyes'. I am getting pretty excited for my trip to Hawaii. We leave next Saturday for 7 days, 6 nights. It sure be pretty fun. Make - A - Wish is coming over tonight to go over the details with us for the trip.
Otherwise I am just waiting for golf to start so I have somthing to do after school. I believe we only have like 44 days of school left!!!
Thursday, February 23, 2006 12:08 AM CST hello
Well the past weekend i went to Rochester on Sunday with Michelle. It was our nice 1-Year anniversary dinner and movie outing.. We tried to eat at Bilotti's but there didnt open until like 5:00 so we ended up eating at Golden Corral.
After we ate we did some shopping and messing around until our movie started. We went to Date Movie. Yesterday was our first and final playoff game for basketball. We are all done with that sport and I Praise the Lord Our Savior!!
Now I just get to play cards and hang out after school and do whatever i feel up to doing! Nothing in store for this weekend either. Pretty lame and easy going time in my life now
Thursday, February 16, 2006 6:12 PM CST How are you ?
Well today we got hit with the snow storm. Though we did not get the 6 inches that was predicted but we did get enough to cancel school.
On valentines day, Michelle and I went to eat Pizza Hut and tehn watched a movie - " In Her Shoes " I got some kool looking heart PJ pants, some candy, poker picture frame, candy, and a poker boxers that even come in a box like a deck of cards. It was a GREAT VALENTINE'S DAY!
Hopfully we do not have school tomorrow and we can have a nice long weekend.
Sunday, February 12, 2006 9:50 PM CST Well the past week went by semmingly pretty quick. I had a couple of basketball games and we lost both of them. Saturday i took my ACT's and basically guessed on most of it. I got so bored and was tired i just could not focus.
After ACT's i went to Mason City to look for Michelle's valentine gift.. That took me forever! On the way home I stopped in Rockford because thats where wrestling was going on and i got back just in time for the finals. Today i went to church and worked on Ecology all day. This evening i went to Michelle's Pops Concert.
Saturday, February 4, 2006 6:06 PM CST Another week down, another week closer to being done with high school and BASKETBALL!! Well this past week consisted of going to school and also I went to Hawkeye Community College on wednesday. I went down there to take their Compass test and their weren't even offering it, so it was absolutly a wasted college visit!
Last night was parents/seniors night at the basketball game. We lost. Right in the last 5 minutes of the game I took an elbow right to the back of the head and it almost knocked me out. Coach made me leave the game and go sit in the locker room and answer dumb questions to see if i had a concussion or whatever.
Today I had State Speech contest in Decorah. I guess we didn't do too bad. We got two 1's and one 2. After that I have been sitting at home doing nothing all day. No plans for tonight either so it has been a boring boring day! Tomorrow Miller is having a Super Bowl party and that will be what I after I go to church.

Well another week goes by and I sit here trying to think of what happened... Well we had 2 basketball games. I decided I need too get a car and get rid of my Tahoe. So I save money on gas. I am looking at Chevy Impalas. Saturday went and looked at a couple and tried them out. I really like 'em and can't wait to get one! Only got like 3 weeks of basketball left and Gosh can I not wait. I can't hardly stand it anymore. This week will involve alot of the same stuff. School, basketball, and wishing I was out of high school. This coming saturday I have a speech contest in Decorah! It is the state level now I believe..
Sunday, January 22, 2006 11:32 AM CST Well I won $102.50 yesterday playing blackjack! Not too shabby I guess. Today we went to church and then we went up town to eat at the Cancer Breakfast. Otherwise just chilling today while watching football. No big events this week except two basketball games.
Thursday, January 19, 2006 11:50 AM CST Howdy
Well this week I have been battling a bad cold or somthing. I have the running and clogged nose and a really bad cough. I cough hard and alot but nothing comes up or out. Well I should not say that because during the halftime of our game Tuesday, I puked quite a bit.
Stay home yesterday for the first 3 periods and I also went to the doctor. i am on singulair now just to try an clear up my nose. He said if the coughing and things arent better by friday, I need to call him and he will put me on antibiotics. I think I will have to get those because things just aren't changing much with the cough.
Got a game in Nora Springs tomorrow. Saturday I have to go to a Speech contest thingy to do an acting onsomble. From that I shall go home and head to RED WING MINNESOTA! TREASURE ISLAND-RESORT-& CASINO!!! Oh i am so pyshed for that. Been waiting a long time to go back there.
Otherwise not much going on around this area. Two days ago I was 100% sure I was going to Waldorf next year to play football because they offered me $7,000.00 a year to play. But now I am dead set on going to Hawkeye Community College.
Friday, January 13, 2006 12:28 AM CST No school today due to the end of the semester yesterday. Um I kleaned my Tahoe out today and have been doing a few scholarships. We got a game tonight in Greene.
Last night we played poker and i ripped it up all night long. Today we have pretty much finalized my "Make A Wish". We are going to be leaving for Hawaii on March 18, and coming home the the 25th.
The things I believe we will do are: Snorkle - Parasaild - Helicopter Tour of the islands - go on a Dinner Cruise. Dad/Mom, Erin/Joy, and Michelle & I are going!
Not sure if I am going gambling tomorrow or not. So I think my weekend has nothing to exciting involved or planned yet...
Monday, January 9, 2006 11:38 AM CST Well let me think....
Friday we had a game and then I went to Michelle's house afterward and watched Wedding Crashers Uncorked. Saturday went hunting and then took a 4 hour nap and went to a basketball game and came home to go to bed. Sunday i went hunting and then went to church. Took a little nap and then went to Mason City to watch "Hostel" and it sucked, it was not anything like i thought it would be. So i was pretty ticked about that. We only have a 3 day week this week. The semester ends on thursday. But we got early on thursday at 12:30 and we only have periods and the rest of the day we can watch student plays or have study hall all day.
This coming saturday i am going to Red Wing to gamble!! I can not wait!!!
Thursday, January 5, 2006 12:09 AM CST DAYS OF MY LIFE
Well last weekend I ended up going to Michelle's to watch the ball drop. Sunday I went to a Noble christmas. Later on sunday night, I played poker and won $10.
Monday sat around until practice and then did absolutly nothing all the that day. Tuesday school started and we had a game. We lost big and bad!
Last night bunch of us went to a guys house and watched the ROSE BOWL and played poker. Here I am today and the future holds, a game friday and one saturday night. Otherwise nothing else planned.
Saturday, December 31, 2005 10:02 PM CST Happy New Year
Yuppers this is a good year, the year I graduate! I can't wait to be off at college. Just have to stick school out a few more months. WEll i hope you all are enjoying the holiday season!! I have been off school all this week. We had christmas here christmas eve and went to Wisconsin to my grandpa and grandmas. Monday, I shot a nice big doe with the muzzleloader.
Started basketball practice on wednesday. Otherwise i have been just enjoying my time off from school.
Wednesday, December 21, 2005 12:38 AM CST My life...
well as of now, i am in rochester and have been since 7 this morning. had to get up early today to get up here for my first events. So far I have had blood test and the breathing tests. I am waiting to go in for my Echocardiogram test and then from there on to see my Nurse Practitioner.
Um over the past week I still havent played basketball. My ankle is still swallon and hurts when I move it up or to the sides so i walk with it straight. I will practice next week.
I have not done too much other then christmas shop over the past week. I have got all my christmas shopping done. The bad thing is that on the way home from Cabelas last weekend I hit a pheasant right in my front head light and broke it all. I had just put in a new light bulb in that spot three days before i hit the pheasant.
Wednesday, December 14, 2005 6:46 PM CST
Well by golly i said in my entry on monday that I have had no real excitement but boy if i only knew what was about to happen. Late in basketball practice Monday night I came down from a rebound and my foot must of been twisted and i think I rolled my ankle. I hit the floor with some intense pain. My ankle swolled up instantly. Only a couple of hours later my ankle looked like a small boob! I couldnt put any pressure on it really until Tuesday. At school I used crutches all day. I had to miss our game last night too. Today we had no school due to the nice snow storm we had. The foot is movable up and down now but not too much. hopfully only a few more days of this bumed ankle. The swelling isnt too bad now but it is turing black and blue now. Just been thinking about college alot lately. Trying to figure out if i will play football or not. I have my college choices narrowed down to 3 places. If i do not play football i will go to Hawkeye for sure, but if i do play football i will go to Waldorf or Iowa Central depending on their programs for me. Well dinner is ready and i am hungry!
Monday, December 12, 2005 12:02 AM CST Well it has been awhile since i have been on the computer or at least wrote on here. I am on the computer for about 2 1/2 hours aday during school playing games at the wonderful websites of www.addictinggames.com & www.armorgames.com Well over the time since my last entry i have just been going to school and basketball practice. Basketball is not going so good, we are 0-3. We have memory mates tomorrow for basketball. This weekend I need to go shopping and get 2 of my family members gifts and also i need to get my girlfriend a gift(s).. Other then all of that excitement i have not done very much, wait i did go sledding yesterday and shot a rabbit! Yippie
Sunday, December 4, 2005 8:01 PM CST Well over the past week i accomplished nothing. We had our first 2 basketball games and they were pretty ugly. In fact one was more like a football game. Went to school every day and then practice after school.
Nothing too exciting for this coming week other then I go to Waldorf on Wednesday for a college/football visit. I have a few games this week. Otherwise nothign else going on
Sunday, November 27, 2005 5:43 PM CST Howdy
Well I had a nice thanksgiving. Tuesday i found out that i have 2 options with my tooth. Option 1: Put a wire brace around the top of my mouth until it is good enough for them too cut out my baby tooth and place a button on my impacted tooth. They then place a GOLD CHAIN on the tooth and pull it in over time like braces. The other OPtion is to just cut both of the teeth out and put in a fake one..
Well other then that i have been just hanging out with nothing too spectacular going on.
Tuesday, November 22, 2005 9:25 AM CST Well today or actually right now i am in mayo clinic. I am waiting to go in to see the Oral Surgeon. Quick update of what i have been up to.
This weekend I found out that I made ALL STATE PUNTER 1ST TEAM both for the Des Moines REGISTER and for IOWA NEWSPAPER ASSOCTION. To top that off, i also made ALL AREA PUNTER. Which is like all the teams in the north east iowa area of like 4a-A. So i have been just ripping up the football category!
Now that i made all state i will be pictured on the wall in school. That is the biggest goal i wanted to get this year personally and i did it!
Last friday i went down to visit Hawkeye Community College. REally nice place and i belive that i shall go there unless i decide to play football.
I have had offers to play football but from the wrong colleges. Waldorf,Wartburg,Luther,Buena Vista.. all the darn colleges that cost alot and do not allow you to have football scholarships. Waldorf said they would give me about 7,000 to play but they do not have my program...
Well today is our last day of school this week. And i get to miss most of it. After school tonight we are going down to Independce to play some basketball!
Well they called my name.. gotta go
Wednesday, November 16, 2005 1:13 PM CST
Well we started basketball on monday. Let me tell you, I was not sure if I was going to go out or not. In fact I did not know until after school when I was in the locker room talking. Then I changed and said, what the heck!
So far so good. It is funner then I thought it would be. I do not have any shoes yet so my feet hurt and it is tougher to do things with out half way good shoes. Yesterday we got a bunch of snow and some of it actually accumlated on the ground.
Today we were 2 hours late and I was 15 minutes late to school. I got up and folded some clothes then rode four wheeler. Then I had to get treats so I tried to get into my Tahoe and all the doors were froze shut. My driver door handle, pop out a little bit on one side when i lifted up to open it.. WHHOOOPS! I finally got the back door open and crawled all through it and started it up and let it run for a while.
When I came home, I rode four wheeler some more then got ready for school. I hit up Andy's for some Hot Chocolate. I got to school at 10:10ish and school had started at 10:00 I guess. So i was like 15 minutes late. They usually start at like 10:10ish but i guess not. Waldorf football coach was here today and called me out of my Psychology class so he could talk with me. They are really quite interested in me! I could play all 4 years for them! That would be sweet, but I am not sure that they have any program to offer me that I am interested in. That is funny because Buena Vista called me last night and they are really wanting me to come play for them too. Crazy how it is all happening in the same time.
Well get back to my seat so we can leave.
See you around if you dont grow SQUARE
Sunday, November 13, 2005 6:00 PM CST Days of my life
Well during the week got involved in some more PS2 NCAA Football '06 playing. I am still undefeated! Um, friday played some poker with some buddies. Pre-round I was champ. THen we played with a $1.00 entry fee and i lost! But we started another one and i had to go because i more important things to go to. So i went all in and almost won,but then left to go be with Michelle.
Saturday I worked on our highlight video for the foobtall banquet. THat night we had our football banquet. Sunday morning Michelle came with me hunting! I felt bad because it was probably about the worst day to hunt. There was like a constant 20 mph wind and it felt like 80mph gusts. We saw two deer, one being a buck that MICHELLE spotted!
Sat around the rest of today. Basketball is starting tomorrow, not looking forward to that one bit....
Monday, November 7, 2005 11:54 AM CST Days of my life.
Well no more football to look forward to. Sure do miss it. Well last Thursday after school a couple of us went to a house and watched the tape of our dramatic loss to Valley. I was ok with the fact that we lost i guess, but then i read the paper the next day and their kicker is a foreign exchange student who has been playing soccer his whole life.. is that fair? haha
Friday morning went hunting and called in some big bucks but no rack in my hands yet. Friday night Michelle and I went to Saw II. Saturday I went with Michelle's family to the Wartburg vs. Central Football game. Her brother is the safety. After the game went to cedar rapids to eat at Famous Daves! Good food, never been there. Sunday I went hunting and seen a good buck and I got buck fever and didnt get a shot off. I went to church because i left from my stand early because to elderly people came lolly gagging through the woods all over. Sunday night I went hunting and again seen a couple of bucks but not close enough to shoot. Tonight I am going to the UNI Dome to watch Brit and Valley duke it out.
Thursday, November 3, 2005 1:40 PM CST DAYS OF MY LIFE
Well last night was our big playoff game! Going into the game we were suppose to lose by between 30-40 points. The odds were 99 to 1 in their favor. So were going in there to have the biggest upset of all time.
Started off bad with us having a few turnovers and them having 13 points to our none late in the second quarter. We were going to kick a field goal, but a lidtke called for a time out and told coach we should try the freeze play.(on2) it worked and we got the first down. So quick told coach to do a slip pass to the left side because i knew it would score a touchdown, and sure enough it did! I kicked the extra point and it was 13-7 at half time.
After the half we held them and we took it into the endzone once again and the extra point was blocked badly to even the score at 13-13. But on their first play they ran it back for a touchdown but failed on the extra point. Score now was 20-13. A little later in the fourth quarter we scored and i kicked the extra point to tie it all up at 20-20. It came down to them kicking a 38 yard field goal with 25 seconds left. It was good and we were down 23-20. We tossed an interception going for it all and that was the game.
We gave them a run for their money. We were the first team to give them any problems. Valley had only allowed 10 points all year and we doubled that! We got the trophy and held our heads high because it was a heck of a year. I had my longest punt of my life, 85 yards, mostly in the air. Could have been farther but landed by the endzone.
Sure gonna miss it all now. I have nothing to look forward to or even do now adays. Hopfully I can focuz on my big buck and shoot him!
Sunday, October 30, 2005 7:44 PM CST Days of Kurt's life
The game on Friday was a pretty fun one. Everybody got to play but the bad news is that I only got to play a half and a series. Oh well, we won 76-0! I almost made a kick-off through the up-rights. Just under the polls by about 2 feet at most.
Our next game is on Wednesday November 2 at Elgin Valley. It will be a hard fun game. They are ranked at the top and they are suppose to win this game. So we should not even come close to winning this game according most people. Therefore when we play and if we WIN, it will be the biggest UPSET for a long time! Can't wait to get there and start playing some football.
Saturday, went hunting in the morning and did not get anything. First time I did not see a buck. Left early to gambling with Cory and Richard. One thing about the trip to Treasure Island, i did not do quite as good as I did last time when I won $125.
Saturday night me and COry judged the Mascarade Party in Elma and that was my Saturday. Sunday I went to church, served for Youth Group and had Football practice. THen just been hangin out.
Sunday, October 23, 2005 10:05 PM CDT Weekend started out bad bad. The game was the biggest game we played all year so far. It was for the District Championship and Playoff seading. The game started out good with us stopping them and me kicking a field goal to put us up 3-0 early. After that we only had 2 good drives with one ending in a touchdown but blocked extra point and other a turnover on downs on a close 4th down conversion.
Second half they just held us and we kept on beating our selves with dumb plays and dumb calls. They beat us 19-9. They were good, but i personally thought we were better them but we just didn't play anywhere near our potential for some reason and we shot our selves in the foot way too much.
Saturday morning I didn't get up to go hunting becasue I was tired and sore. Saturday dad and I went squirrel hunintg and it was one of those days that nothing was out, not even any birds but then at the end of the hunting we seen two and I shot one and dad shot one. Saturday night went out in the woods and seen lots of does and no shooter. Then went to Michelle's to watch a movie. "Cursed"
Sunday I went hunting. It was rainy and it made me think about going out or not, but I know I have read that the bucks like to move in the bad weather and even rain. Plus I really wanted to get out there because the morning hunt is best time of all to be out. The darkness and the sound of deer and other animals coming in close, oh gotta love it! Unfortunately there wasn't a shooter! Slept most of the day and went to Wing 'N It with Michelle and here I am.
Wednesday, October 19, 2005 8:55 AM CDT Days of my life...
Well last Friday night we played Clarksville. We won 42-0 but it was a harder game then intended. I had 7 kick-offs with 4 of them going into the endzone for touchbacks, 2 that landed on like the 5 yard line or less and 1 bad line drive. Punting was even better yet! My first punt went 73 yards, my 2nd went 55 yards and my 3rd punt went 59 yards and he fumbled it while trying to catch it and we recovered!! Figure out my punting average to be around 62 yards.
I am now leading the district in kick-offs and punting still. I have always been kicking butt in the punting stats but i finally took over the lead for kick-offs too. My overall punt average on the year is 46 yards.
Some good news about football is that we are IN THE PLAYOFFS!! This Friday night we go play Brit, West Hancock and the winner of that game will be the district champions for Class A District 2. It will be a fun hard hitting football game!
Saturday I almost shot a buck but decided he was too little but the good thing is that I saw some deer and the pre-rut is kicking in. Bring on the cold weather please!! Saturday night Michelle and I went to a movie and pizza hut in Mason City.
Sunday I woke up about 7:05 and ticked off that I didn't go out hunting, I must not of hit my alarm set button or somthing... Chilled the rest of the afternoon.
Nothing too exciting happening around here. Just been thinking about college alot. I am thinking I will attend Hawkeye Community college, but they don't have a football team and I am thinking I want to try punting at college just to see if I am any good or not. So I am still looking at other colleges in Iowa that have my program and football.
Monday, October 10, 2005 12:08 AM CDT DAYS OF KURT'S LIFE
Friday night's exciting game was a successful one! We had a nice long scenic ride over to Buffalo Center. The game started slow with us having to punt on our first possesion. But the punt was a good one, I booted a 55 YARD PUNT. The best thing about it 55 YARDER was it was all in the air. It was just too bad that later in the game i would have to punt and it would get blocked but it still went 20 yards. That was the first time I have ever been blocked....
During the game one of the referees said to me: "You have the ugliest shoes I have ever seen." Then later on I went up to him and was like do you really think they are that ugly?? he said yes and i told him i had a story behind the color and he said yeah yeah, he read about it in the papers. THen he said, i still think they are ugly and he asked how i was going to get a girl with those things because they looked like shit. He soon was informed i had a girlfriend because he was saying smack about Michelle.
We won the game 45-6. WEnt hunting saturday and seen 27 deer. 26 of them were does and the first deer I seen a was a little buck. Sunday I went to Pizza Ranch with Michelle and that was it!
Monday, October 3, 2005 11:27 AM CDT DAYS OF KURT'S LIFE
Another week goes by and yet it seems like I did not do a whole lot but indeed I did do ever so much! Last week was Homecoming week. Thursday night was our big festivity night.
Thursday night we start off with a parade that ends up at the football field. Once we arrived we began with some words from student coucil then our grand marshall. Then we got into our King and Queen skits. The queens had us kings listen to clips of disney songs and we had to guess what it was from. I WON !!! Then we had to stick a marshmellow in our mouths and say: Riceville Wildcats. We would say it and then stick another one in. If you could not be understood when you said Riceville Wildcats then you were out! I WON AGAIN!! But I eat marshmellows like they are going out of style!
Then it was our turn to make the queens do somthing for the community. We made them get into shoulder pads and helmets. Then they had to face the crowd and do 10 jumping jacks - 10 sit ups - 10 push ups - 10 hit ums. They were dead after having to do that. Then we made them run high knees over the big cylinder bags twice. Then they had to do it with us kings hitting them with hang bags. It was fun and exciting!
Next it was the famous: Powder Puff Football! The girls play flag football. But the best part was, I was an annoucer!! Once that was over we played the GrEaT TUG a WAR! Lastly we had a scavenger hunt around the school grounds.
Friday rolls around and we only have classes until 11:45 then we all go outside and grill up our food! I personally bought a 1.25" inch PRIME RIB STEAK! Oh my Lord, was that baby deliscious!!! It was done with just a hint of pink left to see. It was charcoal grilled to perfection by none other then ME!
A professional photographer came and took King and Queen Canidates pictures. Before we got out we had our big PEP RALLY!! School was out and I went home and got all of my Bowhunting stuff ready and the alarm set.
5:00 P.M. rolls around and I head to the school to get ready. Come 7:30 the sidelines were packed ever so fullfillingly and the WILDCATS were just waiting to give Janesville wildcats a taste of THE REAL THING! We surely did. We won 48-7! At halftime they announced the winner of King and Queen. MICHELLE *(my girlfriend)* was crowned QUEEN and Justin Anderson my great buddy was crowned the King!
After the game we had our Homecoming dance! Then it was off to bed so I could go Bowhunting!
Monday, September 26, 2005 11:26 AM CDT DAYS OF KURT'S LIFE
Last wednesday I went to Rochester for my 3 month check-up. Got there and got the arm prick for a little blood. Then I headed on over to the hospital. I visited with Kristina then headed up to talk to Dena.
After a little visiting it was time to head back for my appointment. I arrived a little late so that way they would be just craving my entrance!
She told me all looked good and counts were great! Headed back to the mall to the food court and stopped by Walmart also.
This weekend Michelle, Mom, and I went to Des Moines for a Lymphomia Society: Light the Night Walk. That was pretty neat. The walk was like 3 miles or so. It was a long one, let me tell you! Otherwise just chilled at my brother's house down in Grimes for the weekend! This week is homecoming, and today is dress up day. Tomorrow is Senior Citizen Day, then Nerd Day, Crazy Hair day and Red & black day! Should be a fun and easy week!!
Monday, September 19, 2005 2:14 PM CDT DAYS OF KURT'S LIFE
Well today, I got to spend at home instead of being at school. Woke up feeling crappy and had slight fever but went to school thinking it would just go away and plus I wanted to work on the High light tape from last friday. But things didn't change and I went home during 3rd hour.
Got home and slept for about 2 1/2 hours. Then ate couple bowls of cereal and took some Ibprofan and have just been chilling watching tv.
On better side of things... Last friday night we played over in Northwood. It was the game in which whoever wins, would be in the drivers seat for the district! Started out good with us holding them and turning around and scoring a big long touchdown.
After that they scored and then we fumbled and they took the momentum and they ran hard and fast with it for the rest of the half. Second half we came out thinking it was a new game 0-0. Really the biggest difference between the 2 halves was in the first half we played TENSE and the second half we played INTENSE just like we said we wanted to going into the game! We beat them 26-18!!
Saturday I spend a few hours out in the woods working on my treestands and my shooting lanes and basically just scouting out the whole woods. Came back and later on MICHELLE and I went to Mason City to eat at China Buffet and see 40 Year Old Virgin.
Sunday after church, MICHELLE and I went to Cabelas because I needed some hunting clothes. Get there and they don't even have my bibs on hand so I had to order them and pay shipping and crap. That sucked but at least they had my jacket and I got a facemask. Then we ate at Timber Lodge.
Got home from Cabelas and I went right to sleep for a few hours. That was my weekend. It was pretty eventful. Getting ready to go see the people of Rochester on Wednesday for my 3 month check-up!
Monday, September 12, 2005 11:29 AM CDT DAYS OF KURTS LIFE
Friday we had what was suppose to be a tough game. SCMT did play good hard football, but we just out lasted them and wanted it more! The final score was 53-0...
In the game I had some really nice kick-offs that went out of the endzone and some that landed in the endzone. I had to punt two times. The first punt was more BEAUTIFUL then it's done in the textbooks.
It left my foot going straight UP & OUT at about 70 degree angle with a tighter spiral then a frozen jar of jam. As it was sorrowing through the air, the fans had time to take a drink of pop and a bite of a candy bar or popcorn, then look back and wait to watch it land. On the way down, it was so far and coming so fast & hard, the kid dropped it and we recovered it. So there we were with the ball right after we just punted, except now we had the ball back about 70 yards down field!!!!
The second punt-snap went cruising way over my head, leaving me running it down and rounding it off as I was picking it up ( to see where the defenders were) and as I did that there were like five defenders sprinting with one thing on their minds: "CrEaM that son of a WILDCAT!" I got the punt off barely...
A few other highlights for me other then all of my blocking would have to be my two big catches. I believe one was like 3rd and 6 and I caught a pass for a big WILDCAT FIRST DOWN! Another catch on the same play but a little later in the game was: 4th and 8 and I released ahead and caught it again, but after the catch I remeber the crowd cheering and the annoucer going: " Looks like that's good for ANOTHER WILDCAT FIRSTDOWN!!!
Saturday Cory and I went golfing in Elma because the carts were all rented out in Riceville. When we got back we got ready and headed to Red Wing to do a little gambling. We ate at Golden Corral in Rochester and were ready to finish the trip. We got there and I walked around a little while but when I sat down to play, I played BlackJack. I Whipped out a TWENTY-DOLLAR BILL and got some chips. It was a cheapy table, only $5 mininum bet. After like an hour maybe hour and half, I walked away with $145!! So on the night I cleared $125, not bad...
Sunday was just a lay around day. In the afternoon, we ate at Hunans in Charles City. Sunday night watched a movie at MICHELLE'S house. I even rode my 4-wheeler out there!
Oh yeah, if you want to see clips from the football games, go to www.riceville.k12.ia.us and click on Riceville Football it should be in the middle. Then you can see the website that I am working on. I got one video down and working on last weeks game. A few things aren't quite down and some things are on there but with some erros have to fix them...
i got a little descriptive with a few things above, but I am so bored in study hall and am trying to make it go by quicker!

HoWdY!!
Well it has been a little while since i have wrote on here, sorry but nothing is exciting really in my life... Um last friday, we played Manly. We kicked their booties 66-7!!! I had alot of extra point kicks and kickoffs! I didnt get any passes and in fact we never passed once.
Over the weekend we had our family reunion up in Fairmont Minnesota. THat was pretty fun. Came back monday for practice. Last night we had tape night. Looking at senior picture stuff now!
THis week we face SCMT, who already has one loss and around here 2 lossses will not get you to the playoffs unless some crazy stuff goes on. So they need to win and plus they are one of the teams to be the top notch.
This weekend i think i might be going to Red Wing to try a little gambling with my brother!! Other then that, dont know too much...

Monday, August 15, 2005 9:08 PM CDT KURT'S OUTSIDE LIFE
Well thank-you to all who wished me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! On my birthday, we had my niece's baptizim, then we reheared the wedding and had rehearsal dinner at our house after that. Once we were done eating me, my brothers and some friends went to Cannon Falls, MN.
We ended up staying in a motel right across from Mayo Hospital! Another night spent in Rochester except this time it was fun, because I wasn't confined to a room! Got back early Saturday morning and finally went to sleep for a quick couple of hours before having to get ready for the Wedding!
Saturday afternoon we celebrated my brother Cory's wedding! So it was another late night back to back... Sunday was a day of rest and naps. Late in the afternoon I got enough ambition to clean out MY TAHOE! Wipe down inside and vacuum and use the air compressor to blow out anything the vacuum didn't get!
This morning got up about 7:00 for football Practice and man was I tired! Saturday was a long day working with about 2 1/2 hours of sleep. I have learned my lesson.
I filled MY TAHOE - GRIZZLY 660 today and spent about $60 on that and then took them to the power wash to wash them off and get it all looking SpIfFy! The rest of the week involves every day practice from 8:00-12:00 with our inner squad scrimmage on Friday! We kick off our season with our first game on AUGUST 26TH, AT WARTBURG COLLEGE against West Central!
Until next time, take care and enjoy life!
Monday, August 8, 2005 4:21 PM CDT DAYS OF KURT'S LIFE
Well let me think what I shall write in this 'ol gal.... Um football started today. 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., practice then ate at the bar (Hangout). All last week we had football camp. This past weekend was our towns 150th year and we had big celebration and parade! I was in the parade with my four wheeler for NATES OUTDOOR RECREATION. I went shopping yesterday at Rochester. Got some clothes from OLD NAVY-AEROPOSTLE-AMERICAN EAGLE, and some toothbrushes from WALMART! Why do we call a toothbrush a toothbrush? Honestly, I mean we don't just brush one tooth? It should be a teethbrush or somthing ya know ? I got a big weekend coming up. Friday the 12th, is my 18 BIRTHDAY!!!!! GAMBLE GAMBLE GAMBLE @ Red Wing....hahaha then the 13th my brother is getting married. Should be another quite festive weekend.
School starts, two weeks from this wednesday! That will be nice to get back in a routine of things. Only one more year! Once school starts I will write on here more because there will be computers all over the place!
Well my Leukemia awareness cleats are working great so far! Talk to you later!
Tuesday, July 19, 2005 3:19 PM CDT DAYS OF KURTS LIFE
HOW GOES IT??
Well the shingles are gone, just a few little scabs and marks from where they used to be! they sure do suck let me tell ya...
Well yesterday went to Mason City to get some Football Cleats and low and behold they didn't have the good ones! So I ordered some off the internet, SORRY NO BLUE SHOES THIS YEAR.
I was looking for Blue ones, but couldnt find any other then some for $119.99. But I decided since I went through all of the crap that I did, I would get ORANGE ones! for LEUKEMIA AWARENESS!!!!!!!
Just been golfing and playing Medal of Honor: Call of Duty! On PS2! Its a tough war but the battle is worth it!
Today on the golf course I used the good old FLOP-SHOT and put it in the CUP from about 20 yards off the green! That was sweet. Anyhows, on hole #7, I was 2 and triple bogeied on the hole! Man I was Torked!
Well take it easy!
Sunday, July 17, 2005 1:46 AM CDT Greetings to all that are reading this page. We recieved word this past week that Kurt is 100% in remission and also that he is 100% his brother's marrow so everything has worked so far. His shingles are pretty much heeling as the last 2 crusted over and his sister got to take out his IV for him . We got pills to take now. This will be great no more IV's and getting up at night to do that. Thanks for everyones prayers they are working. We appreciate it all that everyone has done for us and Kurt. Thank our family. friends and anyone else who has become involved. Nancy
Monday, July 11, 2005 7:40 AM CDT Greetings to all. This is Kurt's Mom updating this page. Kurt has some how gotten the shingles. Now for those of you that know what they are like --well he is not very comfortable. He has them on his back. He has to have an IV every 8 hours-luckily we can do that at home. So this is what Kurt is up to and will be for a few more days. He is feeling really good other wise and doing what he wants pretty much. Thanks to all who still check his site.
Monday, June 27, 2005 4:49 PM CDT Kurt had already updated his page today but this call hadn't been received yet when he wrote on his page. So you can check the previous journal entry to see what he had to say. This is Kurt's Mom reporting a phone call we just received. Just an update as the Mayo clinic called and said that the slide of Kurt's bone marrow showed no blasts and that he is in remission. Now we have to wait for the total results of the % of the donor marrow but they felt that there should be no problem with that as well. Wont know those results until later in the week.
Monday, June 27, 2005 3:09 PM CDT DAYS OF KURTS LIFE
Well the tests and x-ray went fine and looked well on Thursday! Friday was nice and quick. Got there at 6:45 and was on the table sleeping by 8:00 a.m. Left the hospital by 10:00 and ate at Old Country Buffet! Now I am getting back in the golfing spirits. Just came back from the course now. Just won $3 bucks!!!! Um not too much going on.
I will find out the results from the bone marrow sometime this week hopfully. If all is good, I dont have to go back through it all and I get to stay home for GOOD!!!! Sure is weird without the hickman, I am still really cautious thinking I still have it.
Well I got some nice thick side-burns going on. Not too much longer and I will have a full-grown beard! The hair on top is fuzzy!
Tonight I get to go umpire for Jr. High Baseball games!!
Well I guess that's : STRIKE-3..... I'M OUTA HERE!
Tuesday, June 14, 2005 9:42 AM CDT Well on the 18th of June I go back to Rochester for my monthly steriod boster for the immune system. Then on the 23rd, I go in and do all my breathing and CT scan testings and I belive I stay over night and on the 24th, I get my hickman removed and bone marrow checked again! June 26 will be DAY 100! Anyways after all of that good news, now I don't have to go back every week, now it is every 3 months or unless I want to!
Friday, May 27, 2005 9:59 AM CDT HOWDY PEOPLE ON THE OTHER END OF THE LINE...
Oh nothing too special around here. Just been trying to finish school before school actually gets out. IT'S GONNA BE CLOSE! Um, been riding bike and playing tennis for my excersise. Did a little lifting last week.
Um we get our Pontoon today. So that will be fun. Other wise nothing too exciting.. More graduations this weekend!
Go to check-up on Tuesday of next week.
Tuesday, May 24, 2005 8:53 AM CDT OK THEN WILD WORLD !
Well it has been awhile. I do not have a working internet computer at home. So therefore I am unable to check on here everyday and when it does work, I can't even get into my email!
Well yesterday I went to Rochester for my usualy weekly check-up. Counts were really up. That is a first for 3 weeks. The last 2 weeks worth of appointments, they kept falling down, and we were beginning to worry or wonder what was happening.
Through my days, I usually get up and go get a donut and chocolate milk from Andy's. Then cruise the country for some wild kritters. Then I settle back in at home and start on some homework. I will do some work and get it done then head over to school to turn it in and mess around there.
During the day I shoot the black-birds that come into the yard. In fact just the other day, I SHOT A WOODCHUCK. You know the 'ol saying: how much wood, would a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood? I know the ANSWER: NONE cuz he is un-ABLE to ChUcK wOoD ANYMORE!!
Otherwise nothing else going on. Over the weekend I enjoyed the graduations. Of course the FREE FOOD always is a HUGE !!! Well that is about what I do these days and I also shoot my new BOW in between lunch and school breaks.
There ya go hope ya enjoyed it very much so!!!
