Yahoooo!!! Good job Kurtie!!! 100% is the best news a person could ever hear. Sorry you got the "carpenters disease" but once you get that shingling done you will be in tip top shape. And on a positive note, you probably won't have to go through shingles in your old age retirement years...so your ahead of the curve on that one! :) I know they are painful, but ya gotta keep your sense of humor,, right?

Hi Kurt, I haven't signed in for a while but I'm always checking in on you! Sorry to hear about those shingles, I know your pain. My gr-daughter Shelby had them too, on her butt, of all places! She had to go on her make-a-wish to Disney world when she couldn't even sit! When she "over-did" and got run-down they got worse again, so all I can tell you is "get plenty of rest". Sure hope they go away soon. Just wanted you to know I'm still thinking about you and wishing you the best!

Kurtie....man is good to hear an update from you! Glad all is well and your counts went up. Now on to a few dounut questions.LOL Were those technically dounuts or in the pastry family===cake dounuts, powdered,chocolate, vanila, maple plain... with or w/o nuts? Posibly long johns,short johns,cinnamon rolls,fried cinnamon rolls, eclairs, bear claws,jelly bismarks(lemon, cherry, raspberry or creme filled),dounut holes,glazed dounuts,turn overs? :)

And this black bird hunting obsession. Do you dress them out like cornish game hens? Do you prefer white or dark meat on your black birds? Are the drum sticks meaty? Do you grill or fry for better flavor? I bet you prefer the breast as that is probably where the most meat is on a black bird.
This must be practice for turkey hunting....working your way up the bird food chain eh? :)

The woodchuck would make a FINE fur frock for your special lady or ladies. Perhaps about 10 more chucks and you can make a coat. However,I urge all the nice senior ladies in the Pine Street vacinity should probably wear flourescent orange while walking about in Kurts area(instead of that old brown fuzzy bathrobe) for safety of course.....nobody needs buckshot in the rear. HA HA HA
No INTERNET either....geeze....well you best keep an eye out....a bear has been seen in southern MN....heard as close as Chester. OOOOO a bear rug for your room(add a disco ball and some neon low lighting and you''ll be a babe magnet) OR you could make another coat for that special lady! Hi Kurt, FANTASTIC news for you! I am so happy for you! Please keep in touch so we know how you and your family are doing. Syd was in St. Mary's on Tuesday, taken by ambulance that morning. She begged all day to call you, but I wanted her to wait until she saw all of her doctors to know how long she would be there. She had a short stay, thank goodness, but won't be back to school until tomorrow (Fri). Let's hope you BOTH stay out of there. It's the best place to be when you are sick, but going home is the ultimate! Stay well my friend!

It will put you in good practice when Pappy's Day comes around in June.

Elijah and I were in Rochester yesterday for blood work and a clinic appt. I saw you there! You were in a wheel chair and you and your mom were talking to a young lady in a wheel chair with a n/g tube and her mom was pushing her. I turned around and looked at you and you saw me but I didn't want to interrupt your conversation. I looked back at you a couple of times just so you'd think, "Who is that wierd lady and her kid staring at me?" I hope you remember. I really wanted to say hello but didn't want to interrupt. You look great!! Hopefully we'll meet again sometime!

Wow, that was a very nice poem!
I'm sorry if you have to miss prom this year Kurt. Prom is really just a great big party, you'll have lots of time for that once your immune system recovers. You've gone through so much and come so far, wouldn't want to have something set you back. I'm sure it's dissapointing but look to the future and realize there's a much bigger celebration a-waiting you!

I don't want this to sound like a lecture, but...you've come so far. The doctors are right. You'll miss one prom, but you won't be missing a nice long life. There is so much crap and infectious diseases going around and if you would happen to get one it could be very, very serious for you. Even though you're feeing great, your body is still adapting to your new marrow. Your immune system is so weak and it won't be able to fight off alot of things.
I'm sorry that I'm being a "downer", but believe me, you don't want a stinkin' infection or virus to put your life at risk after you've done so well at kicking the leukemia!
Don't be upset with your doctors, you have the best in the world and they know their stuff. They don't want to disappoint you, but they want you around, healthy, for a long, long time!

Oh yes it is me, I couldn't help but read, your journal entry. You did see me at your benefit, you were wearing quite the outfit. We talked and walked, and I think we both shed tears. But as we all know, there was so many that showed, to help show their support, and that we're happy to report.You had asked how I know, that you want to go, to school to become a DNR Guy. You shouldn't have to ask, since afterall, Riceville is small. News travels fast, so you shouldn't gasp. The weekend is near, people will come from afar to greet YOU, the big T.V. Star. so what are you plans, you the big man? A walk down the street? Or sitting on your seat? Maybe a stroll in the mall, or staring at the wall? Maybe a friend or two will know, that you probably want to see a show? Whatever your delight, just get some rest and might, and know we all are thinking of you tonight. For THIS journey down the road called life will soon come to an end, where you'll find yet another journey to spend, down another road. What? You can't get dirty? SpOse that means you can't be laying around the woods and fields stalking the poor deer and turkeys. So no Golfing either, guess you better stick to going to the theater. Since you asked nicely, I'll answer one question percisely. You wonder if there's one or two, there is two. Spose that could be a clue. But now for something new. The sun is bright, the day is just right, lounging around the house, just trying to clean for spring. Does this mean I'm a girl? Oh what a world if all males cleaned! But this still doesn't give me up! I wish I had a truck, then I could be cool like all those around me. Maybe soon you'll see, that you're not as bright as you used to be! So it was a tutor you had to see. Was it Math, English, or science oh yippie. While you study away, I sit and watch the grass sway on this very beautiful spring day. I could pick up a book, but then I'd have to stop and look, since there's something more exciting on T.V. Wonder what it shall be! Either ESPN or CNN. Maybe a little Outdoors channel never hurt. Lifetime is always good to. Either way, what can I say. There's nothing to fill my day. All the time in the world, and still you don't know if I'm a girl! With out any further ado, I'll say tata! Morning to the Wonderful Kurtie,

Well peaches and beaches is what came to mind. You may wonder why, but then again so do I. I see I'm not as great, as the other Poet the Great. That's alright, I have nothing to fright. As far as what you think you know, I have to say no. Those blanks don't fit my name, oh what a shame. You're wanting some clues, so here we go. This will prove how much you know. We had met oh such a long time ago. We have much in common, yet we're two different people. So am I a woman, or just an average Mister, afterall, I mentioned that hot sister. But then again, so did poet # 1. You're a hunter and a punter, and I think you may even be a grunter...... I agree with the personal things, weight/height/hair/middle name.... You love to sit in the woods with everyone by yourself....you'd like to get the wildlife stuck on your shelf. Your 4-wheeler you're aching to drive, yet it's a DNR you're working to strive. Well lunch time is near, so i better go my dear. Should I grill out for lunch or wait and grill the pork steak later tonight........

Why the harshness? Its just a game. Such shame, although you don't have the name. Since there are two others with rhymes, and at different times, you may think your done, but you may only have one. So you like to play Football & NASCAR Racing, I'm just glad it's not the girls you're chasing. Afterall it was Michelle you took out, AGAIN. She must be a nice Northern Bell for you. In a couple weeks, it will be you two that we all see in the spot light. Because afterall, it will be prom night. A Fancy tux, a flashy gown, at least you'll be out on the town, and not back at the Donald's Mansion. It'll be a great night full of fashion. Lights, Music, and lots of Dancin'. Lets just hope you stay on your feet when you go to greet, ma and pa noble. I bet mamma Sheryl hopes you two stay out of trouble. We check everyday to see how you are progressing, are happy to see that things are looking up. (Even boredom is a positive indication .) It's a beautiful spring day here in Northern Iowa, but a bit cool. The rain has greened-up the grass and burst some of the buds on the tree. (For the English teachers among us, I'm not sure "green-up the grass" is correct, but that's what I was thinking, so it came out) Anyway, its a great spring day. We think of you (and Rickie Ring) often and we continue the prayers. The Lord has been good to both of you, and, as we pray, will be in the future. Hang in there, Kiddo.

So you went to the show, and took the girl you SURE know, then why did you need the nudie girl magazine? Mother Nancy should have kicked that skinny little bootie, then maybe you'd see, that your pretty little lady will be all that you need!
