Welcome to Anna's first ever website! It has been provided to keep people updated through our journey. Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers!!!

Anna was diagnosed with a brain tumor called Infantile Desmoplastic Astrocytoma at the age of 3 1/2 months. She started vomiting mainly in the mornings and decreased eating. Mom and Dad took her to the doctor 3 times within a 2 1/2 week period. Finally we did a cat scan and found that it was a brain tumor the size of an orange in the middle of her brain by the hypothalamus/pituitary gland that was making our baby sick. After trying two craniatomies to remove the tumor and three rounds of chemotherapy to get rid of it, the tumor has shrunk significantly. Anna finished radition in October 07'

Anna started round 2 of vinblastine/vp-16 yesterday. Her counts were okay so she's on her way. Today she is doing okay. Eating is still a chore but she manages to get just enough in and still drinking her fluids well. She had a great time at the Miracle League baseball game on Saturday. We're hoping to be able to make many more with Anners. Our big trip to Mayo is coming up on Tuesday. She'll have the MRI/blood draw and then meet with the docs to see how everything is looking. Anna is still excited for her baby "bubba" to arrive. Only 7 more weeks. Thank goodness.

Thank you for the continued thoughts and prayers for Anna's healing.
Kari, Anna and Nick
