Welcome to Anna's first ever website! It has been provided to keep people updated through our journey. Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers!!!
Anna was diagnosed with a brain tumor called Infantile Desmoplastic Astrocytoma at the age of 3 1/2 months. She started vomiting mainly in the mornings and decreased eating. Mom and Dad took her to the doctor 3 times within a 2 1/2 week period. Finally we did a cat scan and found that it was a brain tumor the size of an orange in the middle of her brain by the hypothalamus/pituitary gland that was making our baby sick. After trying two craniatomies to remove the tumor and three rounds of chemotherapy to get rid of it, the tumor has shrunk significantly. Anna finished radition in October 07' "Anything is possible for those who believe." Mark 9:23
Anna's celebrated her 5th birthday on January 30th!

Wednesday, September 3, 2008 9:16 AM CDT Anna has continued to do great. She started school all day and is loving kindergarden. She'll get to start swimming class next week which will really help her muscles get stronger. We took her to Adventureland over the holiday weekend and of course grilled with family and friends. A good time was had by all.
We had a couple items of bad news for our family come up the past couple weeks. Nick's dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He is doing well as can be expected and doing weekly chemo. We're praying he can be around longer to see his grandchildren grow up a little more. Anna loves him alot and will be so sad not to have him around.
Also, the same week Grandpa was diagnosed our dog, Bailey was diagnosed with lymphoma. He basically has 3-6 months to live.
Nick has been pretty down with both his dad and Bailey's cancer diagnosis. Luckily he has a pretty positive attitude and strong faith to get him through.
I started classed back up again on Monday and Thursday nights. Monday night is Developmental Psychology and Thursday taking Comp. I also passed my CNA written test and will take the skills part on the 20th. Always something going on at our house! Speaking of house, we're going to try to do the drywall with our neighbors help this Fall/Winter. I'm hoping we can get some of Nick's buddies to come over some Saturday to help out with it too.
Hope everyone is doing well and thank you for the continued prayers for our family. Love, The Nalevanko's
