This site was created to keep you inform on Mitchell's winning battle against osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Mitch was dx August 8, 2002 when he was only 4 years old. On November 26th (2 day after he's fifth birthday) 85 percent of Mitchell's left femur was removed by amputation and a rotationplasty was performed to save as much mobility for Mitch as possible. He endured 18 rounds of chemotherapy which included; cisplatin, mexthotrexate, ifosimide, doxorubicin, and vp-16 after poor tumor necrosis. He has adjusted wonderfully with the life he has been dealt. Thank you for checking in on Mitch's progress. We hope this information will provide hope and education for anyone traveling a similar journey. Take a moment and sign the guestbook.

"Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident."
Psalm 27:3
Thank you for your faithful prayers regarding this brave soldier.

Greetings,
Above is a picture of Mitch with a one legged water ski. Mitch has invited by the folks from Adaptive Aquatics to come out and try his moves on the water. Mitch and I were so thankful for the opportunity. Mitch had a blast and is already talking about spending his 2012 summer on the lake mastering this new sport.
I have posted some new photos of Mitch from this past summer. He is doing wonderful and is healthy. His last survival clinic appointment went very well and we are seeing some teenage development. Chemotherapy tends to withhold this development in young boys. You can say he is a late bloomer. (: Mitch is now 5' 4" and will be 14 year old in November. Time sure has past since we were on that Aflac floor at Scottish Rite 8 years ago. But it has not been forgotten. Please consider being a blood and platelet donor. You could be helping out one of Mitch's friends who needs a transfusion in their battle of cancer. Maybe a monetary gift is more your speed. How about donating here on caringbridge? Here we are able to keep you posted on our loved ones' activity for free with your support. And there's always The Rally Foundation, AFlac Cancer Center and Cure Search; all finding a cure for childhood cancer. Thanks for your consideration.

Please be in prayer for our friends, Will, Brooks and Connor. We are resting peacefully however, these friends continue to fight. Remember them in your prayers.
We love you and are grateful for your love and prayers.
Take time to sign the guestbook. Mitch is interested on who visits these days.
God's Blessings,
Robin
