Welcome to McKenzie's website. This site has been created to keep our family and friends updated on McKenzie's progress. We want to thank each and everyone of you who continue to follow McKenzie's journey, and for your prayers, love, and concern.

McKenzie was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, stage II, on January 21, 2003. It is a malignant turmor that arises in the muscle cells. She began chemotherapy on January 24, 2003 and will continue for 48 weeks. She was almost 4 months old when she was diagnosed.

"Trust the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understandings. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight".
Proverbs 3:5-6

"Children with cancer are like candles in the wind who accept the possibility that they are in danger of being extinguished by a gust of wind from nowwhere and yet, as they flicker and dance to remain alive, their brilliance challenges the darkness and dazzles those of us who watch their light"

Just wanted to let everyone know that still checks up on our girl that her scans and appointment last month checked out great. She continues to remain all clear!!! Thank you for your continued prayers.

We also discussed starting survivor clinic. We are grateful that the time has come to think about survivor clinic but in the same breath we have mixed emotions about what we will learn and the "new journey" that is survivor clinic.

We will go over in detail her entire treatment protocol and all the potential effects that could arise from chemo and radiation at such a young age. We have already begun to be pro-active in monitoring for problems with her back/spine, but there are many other things that will have to checked and monitored as she grows.

Above all, we continue to count our blessings for Kenzie's complete healing. We believe that one day she will be a true testament.

Love,
Carol
