Isabella Welcome to Isabella's Web Page. It has been provided to keep people updated about her battle over neuroblastoma.
Thank You for all of the prayers, cards, dinners, calls and visits. We feel so blessed to have Isabella in our life and to have such strong support from family and friends around the world!
Isabella was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on August 19, 2004 at 10 months of age. On August 23, 2004 she underwent surgery to biopsy the tumor, aspirate bone marrow from both of her hips and to place a central line in her chest. Within one week of her diagnosis she began chemotherapy treatments. Isabella received four rounds of chemotherapy every 21 days. On November 17, 2004 a CT scan and MIBG scan showed that the tumor had shrunk to 1/3 of its original size. The decision was made to operate on the tumor to remove it. On November 29, 2004 Isabella underwent a 4 1/2 hour surgery to remove the tumor and the adrenal gland from which it originated. The surgeon was able to remove 99% of the tumor through surgery. A few months after the tumor was removed Isabella's central line was also removed. Her initial follow up treatment included a CT scan and blood work every three months. From there the CT scans were pushed to every 6 months and then to once a year. She has now been given a clean bill of health and will no longer need to have CT scans. We will closely monitor her health for years to come and look for any signs of drastic change. Please pray that the tumor is gone forever, never to return. We are truly blessed and are so very thankful to God that He carried us through this journey. It is through His mercy that we have this story to tell. God bless the many children who battle this disease every day.

Thursday, January 31, 2008 The New Year has brought us the most wonderful news ... Isabella had her FINAL CT scan this month! That's right, it's not a typo, she had her LAST scan! The doctor has given her a clean bill of health! She will continue to see her oncologist every year but that's it! We are so relieved and so very thankful to God for His mercy on us. I will continue to post updated photos of Isabella on the site from time to time so you can all see how much she is growing! We thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed on us and we continue to pray for the children still battling cancer. It is a rough road to travel and your support and encouragement means more to those families than you'll ever know. Thank you for caring about us and our daughter.
God Bless You.
