Welcome Baby Brother!

Welcome to Gwen's website!
Gwen was diagnosed in September 2004 with stage III (maybe IV), high-risk neuroblastoma. She had stopped walking because her tumor was growing into her spinal canal, compressing her spinal cord. She had surgery immediately to relieve the compression, and then began chemotherapy. Thankfully, she has recovered her ability to walk. Gwen has completed five rounds of chemotherapy, tumor resection surgery, two tandem bone marrow transplants, three weeks of radiation, and six months of Accutane. She is now OFF TREATMENT!

Gwen is truly the sunshine in our family and it is a blessing each day to watch her LIVE her life!

We finally got the news on Gwen's scans... Everthing looks great! It's the news we expected, but it's still good to hear it! Gwen is now 2 1/2 years out from treatment, what a miracle!

Sorry for the late notice, but I was having login troubles with caringbridge--anyway, Gwen's scans are this Wednesday, July 16th. I'll post results when we get them!

We are so pleased to announce the birth of our little boy, James Whitford Mason, on June 11th. He came two weeks early (THANK YOU BABY!!!) and is healthy as can be. He was 7 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches long. After a rather miserable pregnancy, I have been feeling much better since getting that baby born! Anna and Gwen adore their little brother and love to help take care of him.

Gwen will have scans next month, so I'll update again when I have a date for those...
