When I close my eyes......I can feel Coulter's hand in mine, as we wade into the ocean. His grip tightens, and his smile broadens as the waves get bigger.
When I close my eyes......I can tangibly recall his soft warm body after a bath when he was a baby.
When I close my eyes.... I can feel his curly blond hair brush against the palms of my hands as I tousle his hair.
When I close my eyes.... I can hear his belly laugh from the back bedroom as Coulter watches Woody and Buzz.
When I close my eyes.... I can feel his red mittened hands cupping my face as he wipes away my tears.
When I close my eyes....I feel his sneaker whoosh past my head as he swings higher and higher...'faster, Momma!, faster'!
When I close my eyes..... I can hear him clomping around the house in Terry's oversized sneakers.
When I close my eyes.... I can feel the water splash against my chest as he jumps, full of pride, off the diving board on a hot summer day.
When I close my eyes....I can feel his hand in mine and feel his body brush against mine as we walk together, hand in hand.
When I close my eyes.... I can hear the excitement in his voice the night Tinley came and recall with rapture the way he held him so gently for the first time.
When I close my eyes.... I remember his weight on my hip as we dance to music in the living room.
When I close my eyes....I see him gather an imaginary kiss and with one sweet breath, sent it reeling across the room to me.

Tonight, when I close my eyes, I will imagine him swimming in a pool of blue m m's.
Tonight, when I close my eyes, I will imagine him walking straight legged and tall as he runs through a field of amber colored grass.....his hands skimming the top of the long tendrils.
Tonight, when I close my eyes, I will hear the thounderous sound of God's bare feet slapping across the sky, and Gods giant hands outstretched, ready to hoist him into the air....gently pulling Coulter's body close and folding his strong arms around him...,"I'm glad you're here." he signs......,"I've been waiting for you!"

Tonight, when Coulter closed his eyes to our world, I whispered in his ear, "Run....run! and don't look back....we'll see you soon....I love you....."

Tonight we lost BoPeep....Coulter's puppy. BoPeep was given to Coulter by his teacher Ms. Tena...who claimed he 'asked' for her. She always knows best....Ms. Tena and Mrs. Marty. So on his fifth birthday....we were blessed with the fattest beagle puppy you have ever seen. Coulter chose her name....he loved Toy Story and we had all characters except for BoPeep. So, now we had a BoPeep. Sweet and gentle...but willing to play rough at a moments notice. She was a life line for Terry and I after we lost Coulter....a living memory we could hug and touch any time we needed her. She was too old to jump in the bed anymore...but she had taken to sleeping on the floor beside my bed. For a girl who doesn't sleep much she was a great comfort during long nights. I will miss her so.... my only joy is in knowing that a forever eight little boy will be playing fetch with his best buddy in heaven tonight and snuggling deep in her velevety fur.

Thank you Bo...
