Hi there! One of your caringbridge friends has sent us your heroes page. Just letting you know that we would love for you to be apart of our special team of children, families, and photographers working together to capture miracles and picture cures for children with serious and life altering illnesses.

The Littlest Heroes Project provides free photo sessions for children who are currently fighting or have fought a serious illness, family included for the session. We then provide the family with free photos via CD or by print as a special gift to your hero. We understand that in the face of illness it's hard to do things like take your child in to a professional photographer, thats why our special team works with your family to set up a special session just for your child. Our photographers can shoot at your child's hospital, home, on location, or in studio (if they have one) depending on your child's health needs. Each little hero gets there story and photo posted on our heroes page and each week a child is selected for our featured hero page. Finally we are fighting back and pushing some of these invisible diseases into the light through the art and beauty that photography captures. We hope you will consider joining forces for our littlest heroes and help to bring light and hope for all of these special children!

You can visit the website at: www.littlestheroesproject.org
You can apply for a session at: www.littlestheroesproject.org/submitapp

Please help us by passing on our link or website to other families you might know. We stop accepting applications for 2008 on Oct. 8th to give our team a short break for the holidays so make your Littlest Heroes photos your holiday photos as well and get your application in!

Hi,
I wanted to make you aware (maybe again) about the Cure Childhood Cancer petition! The GREAT news is that CureSearch, LIVESTRONG and Alex’s Lemonade Stands have ALL written about the Petition on their websites! And TX Children’s and DUKE have both allowed us to setup paper versions inside the hospitals! WE ARE MAKING HEADWAY and are at over 11,000 signatures! But we need your help again. If you can please make your readers aware, email it around again, and give just a little publicity, I think we can make this happen!

Thanks again,
AJs Dad

Hello!! So good to see Payton is feeling great and enjoying life just like every child should! It seems to me though, people only check on those currently suffering. I don't understand this. My nephew is NED also, but hardly anyone signs his guestbook. It's like people kinda forget these special children when they too need prayer daily. Anyway, just want you to know, your child is being prayed for right here, right now. God Bless.

We will keep Payton's health in our prayers and hope that she continues to have a full and healthy life.

Dear Payton,

It is very encouraging to see a child like you who has a cure from this horrible disease. My son Ryan was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma on March 7th. We are still in therapy. Ryan also has a web site www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryanmalarkey

I found your site thru the CNCF web site. I sincerely appreciate all the work your mom is doing to raise funds and awareness with the CNCF. It will make better treatments available for Ryan as well as all children with Neuroblastoma.

Sincerely,
Henry Malarkey IV

Gin,
Thanks for signing Chandler's guestbook. I feel like I know you as I have read about Payton since the very beginning of our journey. I was at one time on the NB listserve and during the time I read it a lot, either you or your mom contributed to it. Your mom has already signed our Caringbridge guestbook as well....during our stem cell transplant...can you tell it meant a lot to me????

So glad to hear that Payton continues to do so well. Our doctor said not very long ago something like,"we must be doing "something" right since the death rate for stage 4 nb just isn't what it used to be when I got into Hem/Onc" (He is around 40) I agree, still ANYONE not making it is too high.

Have a wonderful Independence Day with your HEALTHY family!

Hip hop, hippety hop
My “Easter Bunny” went off to the shop,
He bought me an egg and lots of chocs
And packed them into a cardboard box.
Then he wrapped it with paper and shiny string
It really was such a pretty thing.
Disaster struck when I opened the door-
He slid across the parquet floor,
He went round the corner and past the stairs
And finished up in a pile of chairs.
Of the Easter goodies not a trace,
he’d thrown them into my fireplace!
So a warning before you go opening doors
Make sure your “Bunny” has non-slip paws!

Happy Easter

With lots of love,

Everyone at Post Pals

I'm so glad you're doing so well and feeling great. Your story was an inspiration to me. Our son, Jeremy, was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma on august 17, 2005. He was just four years old at the time. I'm happy to report, seven months later his is in remission and just completed his BMT.

Gin,
Your children are so beautiful!!
I learned of your site from Beth (http://justicefortaylor.blogspot.com). I have been following Taylor Wells' plight since 7/05.
However, I empathize with all that you have gone through, starting 5 years ago. Not the same, but: my boyfriend of 12 1/2 yrs. (we're both middle-age adults) was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in 2003. He died 2 days after Easter, 2004.
I empathize with the trauma you and your beloved Payton have been through. With the scramble for information and A+ medical care. With the comaraderie of other patients' caregivers. Even with possible soul-searching re "what have I done to contribute to this loved one's cancer?"
I, too, am a Floridian (Brevard Co.). In fact, today in the mail I received a notice from the Florida Brain Tumor Association.
I applaud you for keeping this online tribute to your daughter and to other children with NB, even 'tho your child was out-of-the-woods 4 years ago. You are, of course, helping other parents; I just went to Christi's webpage, which url you have here.
Reading a bit here, Gin, I see a very loving and spiritually wise woman, a supremely dedicated parent (human, allowing herself to sometimes be imperfect)! Thank you for sharing!

My name is David and I also live in Florida. My Mommy has talked to your Mommy in the very beginning, when I was first diagnosed. Everything has been crazy and it seems as if we live in the hospital. I am almost done with my chemo and most of the time I am feeling well. I can't wait to meet you!
I heard that you are a big sister...Again! Congratulations!
My Mommy always thinks of you, because you are an inspiration to her and she can't wait until I am NED just like you!

Anyway, I was so glad to find your page and see almost 2 years NED. Praise God!!! I must admit I have not read the journal yet. I am best friends with Natalie Rhodes and they mentioned your names when I talked to her while out in NY. My 3 mth old daughter is named after Natalie. I hope she grows up to be strong and compassionate just like Nat. I will do anything to find a cure for this deadly and vicious disease. Your daughters are absolutly beautiful!!!

What a wonderful idea. I have made the donation in Patton's honor and I'm sure my friends will do the same. Our prayer are with you. Our only child was diagnosed at age 6 with ALL and endured 3 yrs of chemo and treatments. That she survived would have been enough; that she was able to bless us with a grandchild was unexpected and truely miraculous. Thank you and your beautiful family for sharing your lives. Don't give up hope.

Hi Rob, Gin, Payton and Madison: Aunt Nell is so happy that Payton is doing so well (that's our girl) and will be coming home soon. I know that you are so happy that the surgery is over. We all are. We don't like to see our babies in any pain. My little munchkins here are doing well - growing like weeds and getting too big too fast for me. I want to keep them toddling around my feet. Hope we will get to see you soon. Let us know when you are coming to LaGrange to see Granddad. Love you all!!! Hugs and Kisses!!!! Aunt Nell

I'm a long time friend of Patsy's and I'm just so glad that the surgeries and treatment have gone so well. Peyton must be an incredibly strong child who obviously has an important purpose in life. I'm so glad that all your family and friend's prayers have been answered for Peyton's recovery. I told Patsy you should make greeting cards from the girl's Easter picture - they are beautiful girls. We will all continue to pray for your family. Miracles do come true!

Sweet Payton, as I reread the summary of all you went through, the tears came streaming down my checks. It brought back so many memories of what our two Peytons went through, little one and big one. It must be the name, our girls are fighters, survivors. Our girls who, most of the time, could find a smile. Strong girls!.. thank you for sharing the wonderful pictures of your new hair do, Peyt laughed so hard, just because you looked so cute, with all that hair. We are so blessed, that the good Lord guided us to the wonderful Drs. and Nurses of Sloane, and Mom, one of these days, we'll be able to go for more than an hour, without thinking that the monster will return. Somehow, I don't think he will, our girls are making it. We love you all, and miss you so. Jeanie, "alias Gia"
