Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Romans 5:6-9 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Revelation 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Psalms 116:1-5 I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

We have hope because of a babe born in Bethlehem. Praying!
Luke 2:1-14 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Psalms 91:1-2, 4 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. (4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Isaiah 53:4-6 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. A letter from Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

"It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.

I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you.... in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain.

And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile."

So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going.... you're coming here with me.

A Birthday In Heaven
I heard you crying yesterday
And felt your heart-sent love
So I’m sending you this message
Now, from Heaven up above.

You’re wondering if I’ll celebrate
My birthday (way up here)
I know you’re missing me today
I feel your essence near.

God planned a special day for me
He told me with a wink
He’d ordered me a special cake
(It’s Angel food, I think)

I’m getting lots of hugs from God
He’s really good at that
And every time that I walk by
He gives my head a pat

Balloons will fill the streets for me
They float up through the clouds
And we have lots of clowns up here
That make us laugh out loud

There is a birthday carousel
Jeweled horses ride the wind
With music playing oh so sweet…
The magic never ends

I’ve made so many friends, you see
We laugh and play and sing
We ride our bikes and play jump rope
And sleep in Angel’s wings

We’ll have our cake and ice cream
And open gifts, surprise!
But we don’t blow out our candles here
Instead, they light the skies

AND GOD SAID

I said, "God, I hurt."
And God said, "I know."
I said, "God, I cry a lot."
And God said, "That is why I gave you tears."
I said "God, I am so depressed."
And God said, "That is why I gave you Sunshine."
I said, "God, life is so hard."
And God said, "That is why I gave you loved ones."
I said, "God, my loved one died."
And God said, "So did mine."
I said, "God, it is such a loss."
And God said, "I saw mine nailed to a cross."
I said, "God, but your loved one lives."
And God said, "So does yours."
I said, "God, where are they now?"
And God said, "Mine is on My right and yours will be in the Light."
I said, "God, it hurts."
And God said, "I know."

The story of your beautiful little girl is inspiring and furthers my desire to become a Child Life Specialist. I truly feel that God led me to your Caringbridge page to further instill in me the desire to head down this career path so that maybe I can bring light to a wonderful child like your daughter. I also wanted to add that there's a wonderful organization (you may have already heard about it) for "twinless twins". One of my best friends lost her twin sister five years ago last weekend and she attends the Twinless Twin conferences and has found them helpful as well as healing. I will continue to pray for your family and please know that even years later, your beautiful Emily is doing work for her Creator with the story of her brave fight.

I can't imagine how hard that first day of school must be for you -- I consider it a triumph if I make it through the morning without tears as I take Carolyn and think of the many children we know that have been robbed of that simple joy. May God bless you all and give you strength.

Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

I know how difficult Mother's day is for those whose child is now in Heaven. This poem has been a comfort to me as I pray it will be for you.

You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes & pray that she'll come back,
Or you can open your eyes & see all that she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
Or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow & live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
Or you can cherish her memory & let it live on.
You can cry & close your mind, be empty & turn your back,
Or you can do what she'd want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

God's Lent Child
I'll lend you for a little while a child of mine, God said,
For you to love her while she lives, and mourn for when she's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or forty-two or three;
But will you, till I call her back, take good care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you, and should her stay be brief,
You'll have the lovely memories as a solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return;
But there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn.
I've searched the whole world over, for teachers kind and true;
And from the throngs that crowd life's lane I have chosen you...
Now will you give her all your love? Nor think the labor pain?
Nor hate me should the angels call, to take this child back again?
To which the parents did reply...
Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joys thy child will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness,
We'll love her while we may...
for all the love this child will bring,
forever grateful we will stay.
But should the Angels call for her,
much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.

I just learned of Hannah's passing today and through her website read your journal about your precious little Emily. My brother and sister-in-law lost a baby to SIDS and although your situations were different, they really weren't because the end result was the most painful thing that can happen to anyone - losing a child. Your story was told so beautifully I felt as if I were part of it. Someone should make a documentary of your experience as told by you, it would be a wonderful, poignant memorial to your daughter and of all lost children. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that your faith will carry you through and give you peace. God bless you.

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. Please know that I am thinking about you during this holday season. I would like to share this special prayer with you.

Dear Father who art in Heaven...
Please join our family on this Thanksgiving day
And bless each one as we sit down to pray
As we remember those who have joined You above
So dearly missed and deeply loved.

Please provide us strength on this Thanksgiving day
Bless us with memories of those faraway...
Please grant patience to family and friends as we grieve
And help us reach out to others who are bereaved.

We give thanks to You on this Thanksgiving day....
For Your presence in our lives each and everyday.
For Your comfort, guidance, and never ending love...
And for taking care of our loved ones...in Heaven above.

As we light this candle on this Thanksgiving day...
And it glows in memory of those in Heaven today....
May their lights always shine down on us and give us light...
And may we feel their presence along with Yours tonight.

May the peace and tranquility of this Thanksgiving day
Be an everlasting light within each of us along the way...
Lets bow our heads and give our Thanks to God above..
For our blessings, whether on earth or in Heaven above...
Amen

Diane (and David),
When Diane sent her e-mail telling of your journey with Emily, it made me cry as I remembered my wonderful friend and felt your grief. I'm so sorry for your loss and know that there is nothing I can say or do reduce your grief. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I hope that some day, we (me and Diane) can re-connect in person. I have many wonderful memories from 1975 to 1978. Meanwhile, I'm so glad to learn about you, MaryGrace and Emily! I read through your postings and looked at all of the pictures.....what a precious little girl! Keep posting your thoughts and feelings. It's not depressing and I like to read them.

With much love!

II Corinthians 12:8-10 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

I don't have an inkling of what you went through losing a child, but I did fight the cancer battle with my husband and lost him to this terrible disease. Like you I worried about that first anniversary. Our children and I tried to figure out a plan for the day, but nothing 'felt' right. It was the realization that it was just another day without him that finally made sense. My question for my girls was - have I done things this year that dad would have been proud of, what did I do that maybe he wouldn't have been proud of? Time has changed the hurt and the pain, I can't say it has been lessened, but it has become easier to accept this loss. Like a parent with so many plans for their child's future - a spouse has so many plans for the future - plans for what we would do when we retired (he died a year before we were to retire); plans to watch our grandchildren grow, plans for the baby our daughter was pregnant with when he died....plans, plans and more plans. Also, a hard thing is what to call myself - just like you having twins and trying to remember that Mary Grace is now a one, not part of two. I keep saying our children, our house, our life - am I now supposed to say my children, my house, my life. Many questions, many hurts and many times of pain. Know that I have followed your website for a long time. I have prayed for all of you and will continue to keep you in my prayers. My biggest point of gratitude is like yours - my faith in God and His promise that we will all be together again. God Bless you all.

Psalms 18:28-30 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.

Thinking of all three of you as the anniversary of Emily's passing comes quickly upon us. I think of you guys often and after following Emily's site for the duration of her illness, I have now become a CaringBridge "regular". I follow the sites of many children and feel it is the least I can do to look at their picture, to read their story, and offer my prayers to their families. I breaks my heart to see what kids like Emily and families like yours have to go through. Sometimes just the pain of "seeing' is nearly more than I can bear....I honestly cannot know your same pain. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies.

Vivit! He lives! Praying as always!
Job 19:25-27 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

1. I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever-living Head.

2. He lives triumphant from the grave,
He lives eternally to save,
He lives all-glorious in the sky,
He lives exalted there on high.

3. He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.

4. He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul's complaint.

5. He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.

6. He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I'll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.

7. He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He Iives to bring me safely there.

8. He lives, all glory to His name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Psalms 46:10-11 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

"I'm but a stranger here, Heav'n is my Home"...one of my favorite hymns. It's such a comforting thought! Know that I'm praying!

I was reading Emily's story and have to say that it touched me greatly. My daughter, Anna, was diagnosed in Oct 08 with ganglioneuroblastoma stage II. Her tumor was removed and tests all came back the best that they could. We have avoided chemo. Our first follow up scan is Feb 11. I'm extremely scared.
Like your Emily, Anna has a twin sister. So not only do you worry about your little warrior you worry about her other half.
I hope that you are all doing okay. I can only imagine your pain. May God carry you through this tough time.

The Lord is the only true source of strength! Turn to Him always! Praying!
2 Corinthians 12:8-10 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

Dear Adamson Family
We think and pray for you everyday. We went to see the tamarind tree and it is beautiful. Little Joania liked it very much. She was happy to see the tree close to the playground. That tree is a symbol of hope and love from our Lord Jesus. May our Lord give you hope and strengh everyday. With all our love

Jonah 2:1-2 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Hi My Friends,
I hope each of you are getting over the flu. 2009 is here and hopefully it will be a year that will lessen your sorrow. What a beautiful place to have ^Emily's^ tree. How she loved to play especially in a playground. You and your little angel are always in my thoughts.
Love, Kathy D

You are not forgotten...nor is the pain that you are feeling. I thought so much about all of you who lost your precious ones this past year. I can feel your strength though through your words. God bless you in His perfect peace. Love to you all.

Hope only in the Lord! Praying in Seattle!
Lamentations 3:22-26 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
