Cassidy

Welcome to Cassidy's Web Page. It has been established to keep our friends and family updated on our sweet, funny Cassidy.

Cassidy was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia on 9/5/2002 when she was 21 months old. She relapsed on 12/30/2003, when she had just turned 3.

On 3/16/2004 she received a Bone Marrow Transplant from her big brother Cal. Thank you Cal for being our hero!

On 7/15/2004 Cassidy relapsed from her Bone Marrow Transplant.

On September 17, 2004 - Cassidy earned her angel wings. We love you and miss you!

I love you very much. Every time I do!

Hello,

Here it is Cassidy’s 8th birthday. I just went through the photo album with the pictures we shared at her service. It’s got most of my favorites in it. Anyway, so many memories.

Her first baby pictures where she’s just sleeping, her hands are always up either next to her head or under her head. She was such a quiet baby. She would just take it all in. She would hardly ever smile, which is ironic, since she turned out to be such a smiley girl! In fact at her 6 month pictures the photographer couldn’t get her to smile, and I finally said, it was okay, since that’s how she was and it would be better to remember her that way anyway. What a little goof. By her first birthday she had figured out the smiling thing and never went back.

Looking at the pictures I am reminded about what wonderful friends she and Cal were. He was such a good big brother, and she just thought he was awesome. He still is a wonderful big brother, but it’s different with the huge age difference between Cal and Caitlin.

It’s also funny to see all of the different hair styles (for lack of a better word). She had reddish blonde wavy hair, then you see that coming out so it’s stingy, reddish blond, wavy hair, then it’s no hair, then it’s fuzzy like , then it’s brown wavy, and then brown curly, and then it comes out again and finally dark brown spiky.

I see pictures of her in the hospital playing with dolls, playing with friends (Tyler in one, and April in another – April is also an angel). Thank goodness she liked playing there so well. I also see pictures of her playing with her cousin, Caroline. Since she didn’t get to play with too many kids, Caroline was her one true friend. They really loved each other and it’s apparent even though they were so little. It would’ve been so fun to see them grow up together and how that would’ve panned out.

The other pictures that get me are the birthdays – real and otherwise. She just loved them and we had to play birthday so much. The one of her and her animals in our apartment in PA, complete with party hats, balloons, etc. brings back a lot of memories.

She also took such good care of her babies. I see her washing them, feeding them, walking them and loving them. And of course, her true love – Bubbles the bear.

I just wish we were adding pictures to the book rather than looking at them and seeing them suddenly end at way to early of a time in her life. I wish I was doing something with her today rather than just thinking about her. I wish I didn’t have this darn hole in my heart. I wish, I wish, I wish……

Cassidy, Happy 8th birthday! I miss you more than you will ever know, and I hope you are having a wonderful party in heaven. I am glad you are already in our true home and I look forward to the day I get to hold you again. I love you with all of my heart and miss you so very much. Thank you for touching me so deeply and for being such a wonderful person. I love you very much – every time I do! (I wonder if you’d still say that – probably not, but I still love thinking about you saying it to me!)

Love, Mommy XOXO

Thanks for tuning in and feeling my sadness! Be sure to hug your kids.
Love, Chris
