BAILEE DUNNIGAN ( BELIEVING IN BAILEE)

Bailee was diagnosed on March 5th 2001 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
She was in treatment for 2 ˝ years. At the end of her treatment, there were still signs of disease, and on March 5th 2004, exactly 3 years later, Bailee relapsed. Our home is in Florida, however, On October 1st, 2004 Bailee had a bone marrow transplant at New York’s Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital, using her 10 year old brothers bone marrow, our hero.
Since October 1st, Bailee has had a bone marrow transplant, 8 surgeries, 12 rounds of total body radiation, EBV Lymphoma virus, that spread to the brain, 5 t-cell boost using Michael’s blood, hemolytic Anemia, loss of hearing and a Cardiac Arrest, and our latest setback, lung failure in October 2005. After 22 months in New York, we are finally home, we will continue treatment at All Childrens.

Bailees battle was lost on September 6th 2006 Bailee will be forever in our hearts. REST IN PEACE, SWEET GIRL

Journal

After going to Emily’s funeral. I have never missed Bailee so much. The pain and feelings, all came back, as if I was at Bailee’s funeral. My heart was so broken for Emily’s family. This is happening more and more, each and every day; these kids are losing their lives, to this horrible disease.

Please keep their family in your prayers, as it is these weeks, that is becomes the loneliest. When family goes home, when your friends stop calling, and when you are faced with the reality, that your child is really gone.

The pain does get better with time, but the thought of Bailee, and the times we had together, are so fresh in my mind. When I go to bed at night, I pray that she watches over us, and I make the promise to her, we will be together once again.

Please keep all the kids, as well as adults, in your prayers.

God Bless,

Robin
