We have created this page to update our friends and family regarding Kenny's battle with Neuroblastoma. Kenny is in REMISSION!! And nearly all of the tumor has been removed. He is on a follow-up protocol which includes frequent Cat Scans & MRI's to ensure there are no new growths. He has an excellent prognosis, with a recurrence rate of less than 10%. I have added new pictures. You can now hardly tell he was ever sick!! I hope you enjoy. To leave a message simply click on "guestbook". Also, to view recent photos click on the camera. Newest/Latest information will be under Journal. Hope you like it.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Hi Everyone-

It has been such a long time since we have lasted updated and sooooo much has happened.

First...Kenny's make a wish was granted and we were preparing for our trip on a big boat with Mickey. The Make a Wish organization did such a fantastic job. They prepared a whole packet for us listing every detail and planning every move. It was wonderful. First they had a limo pick us up and bring us to the airport. What a treat...Not to have to drive and actually relax with the kids. We flew to Florida and they arranged for us to spend the night in a hotel before departing for the ship in the morning. It was the airport hotel, but what a nice hotel. We are such a big family that we needed two rooms and they were HUGE!! It was Big Ken's birthday that Saturday (day we flew to Florida) so we had Balloons waiting to surprise him in the room. The next morning we rode the Disney bus to the ship and were one of the first families to board. It was huge, awesome, and so exciting. It was hard to control the kids excitment and not wanted to get mad because you knew they just could not contain themselves.
We departed early to miss the treat of Hurricane Wilma. The seas were a little rocky...mom was sick the first two days and need seaband...actually by day two Big Ken and Bryeanna needed them too. The Captain was great and talked with us often, doing his best to move around the high waters and keep the ship calm. When we arrived in Nassau, the weather was warm but the winds from Hurricane Wilma made it feel much colder but that did not effect the spirits. Smiles all the way. We spent the day at the beach in Atlantis...SO BEAUTIFUL. Next we were off to Disney's Castaway Cay Island. It was hit really hard by the storm and most of it destroyed or ruined. Crew memebers went ashore early to help clean the island. When we were finally able to disembark the ship we could only visit the far single beach, as it was the only one that was safe to swim in the water....the nets to the stringray adventure had broken and they did not know what had gotten into the waters since the nets were gone. The singles beach was full of seaweed which prevented the kids from going in the water...they did not like the feel of it...but the beach was just as fun. The last day we got to meet 9 other families from Make a Wish and each family got time with Mickey and pictures. At the end of the trip, a limo picked us up and brought us home. We were all so sad to leave and had the TIME OF OUR LIVES. Truely a wonderful experience. We have already planned a cruise for this coming year.

We can not thank Make a Wish enough for providing such a wonderful opportunity for us. Something all of us will remember and cherish. We are so lucky and so blessed!!!

Upon returning from the cruise we celebrated Halloween. Kenny and Kyle were Dinosaurs and so cute. Bryeanna was a witch and Brandi an Arabian Princess. They sure do grow up fast. They had a blast going from house to house and they had enough candy to last a year or two.

On Thanksgiving we had the whole family over and enjoyed everyones company and good food.

The kids are all excited for Santa!! Being good of course. Can't wait for the Christmas morning brunch (and presents).

We have had a wonderful year and are so very fortunate. Kenny returns to Yale in June for a final visit before being transferred to the HEROs clinic. A huge milestone!! He is still having trouble with his eye, something that will probaly need surgery in the future. He is still attending speech therapy, but he is progressing nicely and trying so hard. They are both minor problems and nothing we can't handle. We are so lucky and can't thank everyone enough for all the support, love and prayers. Thank you!!

Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season and a safe, happy and HEALTHY New year!!

All our love,
The Nichol Family
