CaringBridge is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization offering free
personalized websites to those wishing to stay in touch with family
and friends during a significant health challenge. Our mission is
to amplify the love, hope and compassion in the world, making each

<xhtml:h2>Primary Duties and Responsibilities</xhtml:h2>
<xhtml:ul>
<xhtml:li>Leads and plans the user interaction, interface and information
architecture strategies. </xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Champions user needs and continually strives to improve the
usability of CaringBridge services.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Designs interfaces that are both functional and emotive. </xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Develops scenarios, task flows, wireframes, interactive
prototypes and navigation models.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Communicates design solutions by clearly articulating the pros
and cons with detailed evidence and rationale for decisions.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Collaborates with UX team, business analysts, software
engineers, product managers and other departments to create highly
usable and emotionally engaging interfaces that meet both the user
needs and business goals.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Provides leadership and guidance to other user interface
designers as needed.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Stays current on best practices, trends and innovative
technologies related to user interaction and interface design and
information architecture, and make recommendations on how
CaringBridge services may be improved.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Supports and participates in user research and testing of
prototypes for projects.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential
problems, and related information necessary for effective
management.  Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with
others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team
approach.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Performs related work as apparent or assigned.</xhtml:li>

<xhtml:h2>Experience and Qualifications</xhtml:h2>
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements
listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or

<xhtml:ul>
<xhtml:li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in User Interaction or
Interface Design, User Experience Design, Human Factors or related
field.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>5-7 years of interaction or interface design and information
architecture experience – mobile experience required. Experience
using Axure a plus.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Strong skills in user-centered design best practices,
information architecture and UI documentation techniques.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Experience working on Agile teams a plus.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when
designing for mobile; experience with web technical constraints a
plus.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Excellent understanding of the diverse needs of mobile
users.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Strong self-starter with a record of success.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Excellent organizational, critical thinking and planning
skills.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Ability to cope with the rapid pace and constant change
associated with the industry.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Ability to successfully manage numerous projects
simultaneously.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications.</xhtml:li>

<xhtml:li>Implements volunteer programs to ensure engagement and global
support for the mission of CaringBridge.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Implements programs to ensure strong staff engagement.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Implements systems to manage network of volunteers.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Provides content and maintains the Amplifier Hub editorial
calendar, communications and blog/discussion forms.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Leads select volunteer acquisition and engagement
strategies.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Collaborates with peers on implementing communication and
recognition plan for volunteers.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Monitors, tracks and reports on volunteer engagement,
participation, acquisition and satisfaction.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Nurtures a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism; treats
donors and volunteers with respect; and comply with the highest
standards for ethical fundraising.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Collaborates across the organization with the other members of
the fund development team, marketing, application development,
service development and finance/admin teams.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Establishes and sustains interactive relationships with
external vendors and contacts to result in favorable networks to
support the current and future goals of the organization and to
benchmark practices/results to maximize organizational
effectiveness.</xhtml:li>

CaringBridge.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Tracks issues and requests; documents resolutions for reporting
purposes.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Performs responsibilities or tasks related to specific focuses
that may include; donations, collecting feedback, brochure
requests, CaringBook.</xhtml:li>
<xhtml:li>Stays current with CaringBridge website information, changes
