Well, the spiders that I have seen upstairs are BIGGER than they have ever been, so that is causing me some anxiety, let me tell you!

Congrats, Miss Katie, on being over 2 YEARS OT, such wonderful news! I was just giving congrats to Julianna on the same, it's the best thing ever to see you both doing so well, warms the heart :-)

Well, I wanted to stop in and send you early BIRTHDAY WISHES, big 8 year old tomorrow! As you know, Callum will share your big day, he is very excited to turn 9. We had a family party with the Otto's for Cal and Ben (16) yesterday, so he's already raked in some gifts and moola, and tomorrow we will have my side over for dinner and cake, so more fun to look forward to. I haven't booked his big boy party yet (likely to be Laser Tag!) as he has had birthday invitations for every weekend this month...April seems to have been a big month for having babies....could have been something to do with warm summer nights?? LOL Maybe Mom can do a birthday update for us, so we can hear how your day worked out....favorite gift, etc, etc.

So, HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY Katie!!! We wish you health, happiness, gigglies and love on your special day!

Katie, I know you must hear it over and over and over...but my gosh, you have the MOST beautiful hair I have ever seen! I am sure you made a most fantastic 'model' in the fashion show, I hope it was a fun and positive experience for you. I wonder how your winter has been going so far, lots of skating and skiing, no doubt! How is your doggy doing these days? Keeping Mom fit? LOL Love all your pics, you and Alex look fantastic and relaxed, just what we like to see. I will send Mom an email soon with some updated pics, as I know she likes to hear how everyone is doing :-) Everytime I see a spider in this house (which has been often, with the warmer weather...how do they survive the cold??!) I think of Mom! Too funny....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KATIE!!!! (one day late...as you know, Cally shares your bday and I was mighty busy with his family bash yesterday, phew!) I hope you had a wonderful day/celebration :-) Did you grow much taller this year, I wonder? Callum has had a huge growth spurt, everyone has noticed, he's just gotten so tall! I think he may even end up taller than Quinn AND Dad in the end :-) It's wonderful to see how it's increased his eating and appetite, that is for sure. We are so looking forward to seeing a new photo of you, you looked to be thriving in the newer photos and it will be fantastic to see more of the same. Hi Sue,
Been thinking about you all alot latley, actually never stopped, but I knew you were moving on to the next phase of life with Katie and I was entering the end of treatment time and we both are crazy, yet I know that neither of us have ever strayed from eachothers thoughts.
I can't believe we are almost there, less than 2 months away, it's so scary/exciting.
Of course I am back reading back on Katies journals as we seem to follow such similar paths, including the low blood counts a couple months ago, an unexpected complete drop in counts and a weekend stay inpatient. And now the awful sores on Bella's feet, they are so raw, red and peeling, some awful cracks too, and it seems Katie did this too, only it sounds like it was her hands and lips too, Bella's look fine. So I would like to state in writing, we do not plan on following the appendix thing!!!
I guess I wanted you to know I am thinking of you all and am glad to have you on our journey the past 2 1/2 years!!

Katie, Alex, Sue and Scott,

I see that I had signed in just a few days before you decided to end this journal and it has taken me awhile to get back. I'll be emailing Mom with our news and to get your link to the family website, of course! You all became part of our extended family over the last few years and we always will want to know how you are doing and what fun things you are getting up to, what great things you are accomplishing! It was such a priviledge and an honour to be a small part of your tremendous and courageous journey, Katie, and we learned so many important life lessons from you all...we hope we impacted your life in a positive way also. We hope and pray we never have to see you go down that road again and we eagerly await the day that the scientists FINALLY find the cure that we feel is on the horizon, so no family ever has to go through the battle that you and so many have and continue to go through. Even though we have come to love and care for you so much, Katie, we would have given up ever knowing you if it would have meant that you never had to take this journey in the first place.
