You guys and gals all came up in a conversation at our house yesterday- it was nice to tell a new family friend about some of the very special people we were lucky to meet throughout Maddie's last year here.
I still wear the "Maddie" wish bracelet you sent in the bundle of bracelets we received just before Maddie died, and 8 years later it's a bit stretched, so I may have to have it restrung. If I do, it will be done EXACTLY the way it was received- while I know life is full of changes (and accepting and embracing them), I like some little pieces to stay just as they've always been.
Of course, there have been many changes over the course of 8 years- Keegan is now 9. He's a big-time soccer player (and fan- Man U). He'll be in 4th grade this fall, and he is as delightful now as he has always been! ChaChi will turn 20 this August, and is about to begin her 3rd year of college. She'll be heading to Florence for her spring semester- yes, I'm jealous! Ashley is 25! Oh my- I've been a mother for a quarter of a century! Her work is taking her to Zambia this month where she will get to go on a tracking safari... did I mention I have a twinge of jealousy when it comes to my kids' adventures?? My kids are all well, happy, and moving forward living the philosophy you have posted on your homepage! I am also quite well, as are Maddie's 27 aunties! ;)
I hope this note finds the 4 of you all in good health and happy, too. The bracelet serves as a physical reminder of you all, and I am so happy that you continue to touch my life daily!

I'm going to assume that no news is good news!!! I've followed your story for years and haven't checked in for quite some time. God bless your family during this holiday season and may the New Year continue to bring you health and happiness!!! Yours and many other stories like this gave me much needed inspiration to continue and finish nursing school. When times were tough, and believe me, nursing school was like two years of boot camp, I would sit back and thing of your cute little face and beautiful smile and think of how it would all be worth it.

So good to know that you are a survivor beautiful child! I have not been to these pages in over a year and I assume that you are well as there are no recent updates.Praise God for that! I miss your dad's amazing and uplifting accounts of your ordeal but so glad that you are busy out enjoying life! My grand daughter Haylee still asks about you. We are all well and currently have gained an extra year of life with my mom who is battling lung cancer. It has been an amazing year and we will be forever grateful for whatever time is left to share. Thanks for enlightening me as to the good things that can come out of such a horrible thing as cancer. I retired and moved to Texas and live pretty close to Briana Roehling in Pflugerville Texas. Well, I'm not in Pflugerville but I'm close and I'm always in Pflugerville when my other grandson plays baseball.

I came across Julianna's page years ago and, even though i've never signed the guest book, have been praying for her ever since. When I read your most recent post I saw that you have experienced blindness in one eye that lasted for a while, but then disappeared. Have you been tested for multiple sclerosis? This symptom, called optic neuritis(loss of vision in one eye/vision problems in one eye that come and go) is a common first symptom. The disease can present radically differently per patient, but there are some options for treatment. I was diagnosed with it myself several years ago and have learned a great deal about it. This Brittany Dahlen, Maddie's friend and founder of Monarch.
I just wanted to thank your family for being so supportive of Monarch over the past two and a half years! I can't believe it has been that long. I am proud to say I am now in college at St. Olaf in MN. Monarch although has stayed at my high school, which was difficult at first.
Now, I hear updates from the current president and council members. They are making wonderful changes and adding their own flair to the group. I LOVE IT!

Ah, a great shot of you at Mount Rushmore, I heard you all had a super duper time!! (we, alas, did not make it there this year) And no doubt, the big 'back to school' buzz has been going on, I hope you like your teachers and have some good friends to hang with in your classes :-) Callum is currently home with croup/nasty cough, so typical, always catch a virus from someone once they all get to school!! We had better get working on that hand washing, huh? Cal, who is now a HUGE man on campus in Grade 4, has a lovely blonde teacher named Ms. Blinch...so far, she is met with 'thumbs up'. We shall see how long this lasts. Quinn is now in Grade 8, still in the hockey program and I actually smelled B.O. (!!!) on him this morning....break out the deodorant, he's a MAN!! ;-) Quinn is still hanging in with the club team tryouts and Callum has started his community hockey tryouts. Steve and I are having a nervous breakdown trying to pay for it all. Ah, the joys of fall! Looking forward to seeing some 'back to school' pics very soon...hint hint.....

Hi Julianna Banana, What a awesome site you have. I went to school with your mom in Brandon (say "Hi" for me). I have 2 children Abby who is 12 years old and a boy named Taylor who is 18 years old. Taylor was diagnosed with luekemia when he was 4 years old. Surviving cancer was a big part of his life and I am happy to say he is doing well. For his high school graduation gift he asked us if we would pay for a tattoo! Of coarse we said "yes" thinking whats a little tatto after going through all those pokes at the hospital! Well he got a tattoo alright...across his whole chest!! it says "Cancer Survivor" with daffodils on each side. We were surprised at the size of the tattoo but proud of him just the same. It's so good to hear that kids are surviving cancer more and more. I also want you to know that we continue to support the cause in finding a cure for Cancer and to read about kids like you is so inspiring! Keep up the good work.

Wow, over two years OT now! Rejoice, rejoice!
So, have you dug out from under the snow yet? Winter keeps coming back to kick us in the butt once more, when will spring stay?? Wah!
I bet you are keeping busy and having lots of fun with school and extra curricular activities :-) How 'bout them Flames? Taking it to game 7, who knew? Cheer loudly. Cheer for the Hitmen too, those Hurricanes are a great team and they have Zach Boychuk, boo hoo.
We are still doing hockey on weekends and it is great fun to watch, so we aren't totally in hockey withdrawal just yet :-) Did I mention, Quinn's team won the City Championships this year? Quite a thrill, I must say!
Must run, haven't had my morning tea yet...I'll be back, as I know SOMEONE has a birthday coming up....and Cally will be 9 tomorrow! He's still available for JB, keep it in mind....hee hee....

It warms my heart to see there are no new entries. I am going to take that as "no news is good news". The two year mark has hit. Another spring has sprung, another school year is coming to a close. The real cool thing about your site these days is that you don't have anything healthwise to share. I am so happy to see that everything is going so well. We weren't so fortunate. I lost my grandson to neuroblastoma this summer. We continue to follow other children and support research, hoping fewer and fewer families will have to endure what we are enduring.
