Aaron was born a fighter on September 15, 1999, six weeks early. He deals with many different health issues on a daily basis.
He has scoliosis which is a curvature of the spine. He is partially paralyzed because of some complications he suffered after he had spine surgery in April of 2003. He has neurogenic bowel and bladder as a result of the complications as well as weakness in his legs. He will need to have more revision another surgery for his scoliosis sometime next year, to stabilize his pelvis. He uses a wheelchair 75% of his day, when going to school. On the weekends he plays on the floor.
He has restrictive lung disease and must sleep with a special machine at night called a Bi-PAP. This helps him to take bigger breaths while he sleeps.
He is tube fed 100% and once in a while he likes to take little tastes of things that he can lick and likes to drink water from a syringe.
Aaron also has developmental delays which include delayed speech. However he does get his point across in so many ways. He knows what he wants when he wants it!
Despite all this he is a very happy great little guy who loves to go to school.

So sorry for letting time get away from me!! Look at the calender, it's already near the end of April!! My goodness where did that time go?
1. In Januray we went to Montreal and surgery was cancelled not once but twice. We returned home after two weeks on Feb 1.
2. Aaron returned back to school and we got into our daily routine then we got a call to go back up to Montreal for February 22.
3. Aaron had surgery February 27 on his back and did very well with no complications.
4. We were up in Montreal for 3 weeks and came home March 18.
5. He started school a week later. We ran into a bit of trouble with his incision with it getting infected. It has clearned up and is fine now.
6. Aaron hasfully recovered from the surgery and is up and about almost 8 weeks post op.
7. Healthwise he's doing well overall. He has an issue with his eye that will be addressed May 2, I hope! It's been a while he's had to put up with the eye bothering him.
8. He's doing great in school and now "eats" with his class. He's still 100% tube fed, however he is eating recreationally. His favorite things are yogurt and licking chips.
9. He's talking a lot and everyday is saying new things.
10. He's so cute!!

~~I'll try to update a bit more often but it's not always easy. If you email me personally I can share my blog address with you. I talk a lot more about Aaron there and there is a little section called "Aaron's Antics" which is a lot of fun and there are plenty of new pictures of him.~~
