Wednesday, July 1, 2009 2:56 PM CDT Well, its been a while so I'll fill you in on what Ethan been up to.
Ethan just finished his 3rd grade year at Del Rosa Christian Elementary. He really did well this year! He has excelled in reading and writing. He really enjoys writing short stories, and has a great imagination. This year was a little tough on him where math is concerned. He struggles with division, but loves algebra. He likes to make up his own problems and solve them. Hopefully his fourth grade teacher will have better ideas on how to help him with the other areas of math he struggles with. Unfortunately, his 3rd grade teacher wasn't good at helping children who struggled(with any subject). When I asked her how to help him with his math, she told me to google it. What!? So unprofessional. So needless to say, we are happy he is moving on.
Summer started off with a bang as we went to Sedona, Arizona to attend my class reunion and visit some family. Ethan really enjoyed hiking through the red rocks and chasing lizards. He also had the chance to meet an old friend of mine and stay the night at a home I spent 90 percent of my time at during my junior year of high school. It was like going back in time for me.
Since then we've been spending time with friends, playing in the pool and planning to see as many movies as we can fit in this summer. We've already seen one of the movies on Ethan's list, Transformers! The next big one on his list is Harry Potter. He can hardly wait!
So Ethan's doing well and enjoying being a ten year old boy. We, of course enjoy watching him grow and become his own person every day. He continues to miss his little sister. We talk about her all the time to keep her memory alive. She will always be Ethan's sister.
I hope this year is treating you all well.
Many blessings, Richelle
