Maddie's Journey

Still mourning the loss of Stephen, beloved husband and father of Maddison and Derek, I am very saddened to share the news that our family has been struck again with another tragedy.
In June 2004 my beautiful 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. She is currently undergoing a one year intensive treatment of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation.
This is Maddie's Web Page.
It has been created to keep you updated on Maddie's journey.
Messages and well wishes may be left by signing in the guest book .

Many thanks for all the good wishes and prayers already received they mean a lot to us.
Sharon, Maddie and Derek.

Dear Friends,
TOMORROW
On May 31st 2008, 9:00am – 12:00 noon at the waterfront (Pier8)Williams Coffee Pub, bottom of James St in Hamilton, Ontario we will celebrate Maddie’s legacy by holding the first Annual M.A.D. 4 MADDIE 5 Km Fun Run/Walk following by a hands-on interactive African experience.

We realized that we really wanted to, like Maddie, make a difference (M.A.D.), to stand apart. We are hosting an event that is unique and will engage and empower youth and inspire families to work and learn together. The event will include hands-on interactive fun-stations, such as Kenyan Idol, hauling water, Survivor - Mbube, Mbube.
Bands, speeches by Free the Children. Something for everyone!

Proceeds will be donated to Free the Children – Maddie’s project in Kenya.
Go to www.maddieswishproject.com MAD 4 MADDIE for pledge sheets and to learn more, you can email smbabineau@sympatico.ca
I hope to see everyone there, rain or shine. Don’t forget rain is a precious commodity in Africa.
