JACKSON LIVES IN QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA !

Jackson was born on 19 October 2001 and is the youngest of three boys. On 13 March 2003 he was diagnosed with Acute Lyphombastic Leukaemia (ALL). It was a total shock to everyone as he wasn't even sick. Our paedietrician sent him for blood tests, because he thought he looked pale, a bone marrow biopsy was done on March 11 2003 and two days later we received the news. Jackson sailed through the first 6 weeks of chemo but things went downhill from there. He got extremely sick and in the end we had to transfer hospitals, from the Mater Children's Hospital to the Royal Children's Hospital, as it was thought he would need a bone marrow transplant. Dr Kent Robertson decided to just keep a careful eye on him and on 22 January 2004 he started on some mild chemo. On 30 March 2004 we decided to return to the Mater Children's Hospital as Dr Robertson returned to the USA and Jackson didn't need a transplant. However by September because Jackson still had some leukaemic cells the doctors thought a transplant was the only way to go. On 29 November 2004 Jackson had a Cord Blood transplant.
We are taking one day at a time in hope we will finally be cancer free>BR>
