Hi Hailey,
You looked so beautiful yesterday at the press release for becoming California's Champion for CMN. You are truely becoming quite a woman. Dr. Dox was so shocked when he saw you, he didn't recognize you. Tom and I are keeping you in our prayers for a continued cancer free bill of health. Your mom told me today how during the KSBW interview last night you kept bringing the Lord into focus. I'm am very proud of you and your walk in the Lord. There can be no greater thing than to give glory to the Lord by the way you live your life. You go girl.
Love, Maryanne

Dear Haley,
I'm Kelly P's mom. It's been awhile since I read your board. Horray for NED! (No Evidence of Disease)! Kelly's caringbridge board has gone very quiet for a few months, Just as your's has. THAT's A GREAT SIGN!!!!! Quiet boards and fewer entries are indicators that REAL LIFE is returning. Cheerleading and dances! (In Kelly's case it was Basketball and dances!). She's away at College now and meeting all new friends. No one knows her as "the cancer girl". She chooses to share or not to share her story. You'll have that freedom too eventually. Your curly hair is wonderful. Kelly's came back much curlier too. Stay healthy dear. With love from the Purcell family, Laurie

Soooo great to hear how well you are doing and to see the pictures! We are working on the American Cancer Society Fashion Show again and hope you will be able to attend this year.... It's March 17th....
I would love to make a donation to the movie library you and your family are setting up at SVMH.... How would I go about doing that? I guess you could e-mail me the info... or put it on the website, as others might like to help as well.... Thanks so much!

Hello, Haley.
You don't know me, but I sure do know some of your fan club! I'm your mom's first cousin, and I remember her and your aunts when we grew up together in CT. I particularly recall one xmas when we received camera's from our "Gammy", and went about taking goofy pictures of each other. Good memories! Anyway, my parents(Carol and Bill) have been keeping the family current of your progress and we have all been cheering your success! My best to you and your family. The love they have for you is clear.
Cheers!

Hey, Hay--
Just talked to your Mom about your progress. Sorry to hear it's still pain-inducing to eat solid food. Take it SLOW! We want you feeling ALL B-E-T-T-E-R SOON.
I have been busy making things for our Haley's Angels Team Tent -- banners, posters (one on YOU and one on preventing cancer) and next up is our Angel mascot. Lord, help me! I will need some divine inspiration to make it look good and not goofy. Someone I met last night at the blood drive reception also suggested a silver star with streamers -- Haley's comet!
I am also happy to fasten the penant-style banner to a wheelchair so you can take a spin around the track-- if you're up to it.
Heal FAST. We can't wait to see you, and I know you'll LOVE the event on Friday. We will be one of the TOP TEAMS out there. Pass this website to your Mom: http://www.acsrelay.org/
Wish I had known about it before, but it looks full of great ideas...
Love You! and see you soon! Susan

Hailey, It was good to see you even for the few minutes Tom and had with you. You looked like you really were not up for company. I was shocked when we got home to hear from your Mom that you were heading up to Lucille Packard. I know this has to be so hard for you, being so close to having this whole thing over, yet so far. I'm sorry you are going through all of this. Tom and I and our church will continue to pray for you. Be brave and ask Jesus to be your strength for you and to give you peace and courage.
You will get better, and soon. We love you. I will probably be up that way in a few days, I hope to see you then. Love, Maryanne

Hi Haley,
You don't know me, but I was good friends with your Aunt Susan when we were just about your age. I remember your mom well, and I have to say, in the pictures I've seen of you, you look so much like her! I also have a 13 year old daughter, Cassie. She's wondering if you like to watch "American Idol". She's pretty obsessed with it! It seems you have been very strong through everything you've been through. You are an inspiration to others! Keep your faith, and keep looking forward.

Hi, Haley--
We're ba-a-a-ck from our travels and checking in to send our best wishes. Your Mom tells me that y'all went to Great America yesterday. Sounds like fun! The Brice family doesn't know how to sit still, does it?
I also hear that your surgery will most likely be Friday, May 13. We are praying for a speedy recovery. You sure bounced back fast from surgery in January, so I'm sure this will be a piece of cake for you. (I bet Grandma wishes her ankle would recover just as speedily!)
We will be away for a wedding this weekend, but I will visit you at LPCH next week.
Take care! Hugs & kisses, Aunt Susan

Hi Haley, Hope you have all recovered from that awful "flu" you had..sounds terrible !! I enjoyed the pictures and you looked as though you were having a great time...I have to admit to not even knowing there was such a thing as a HUMMER limo !!! I am feeling fine now and getting my strength back but still limited in some of the things I can (or can't) do. Spring has finally come to Ohio and that means lots of yard work but I love it. Your cousin, Meghann,(18) graduates on June 5 (your Grandad's birthday !!)so there are lots of plans afoot for the party, etc. Your cousin Ashleigh(8)just finished two ice shows and three dance recitals so she is now taking a well deserved rest and looking forward to a busy summer. You cousin, Jennifer (21) was home from Reed College in Portland for the weekend and it was great to see her. Our local Cancer Walk is coming up soon and as I told you there will be a luminary burning that night with your name on it. Keep that wonderful smile sweety and our prayers are always with you !

Bonjour!
Hi Haley and hello to the entire Brice family from Susan, Bruce, Kevin and Megan. We were so glad to see the birthday photos and to read about your adventures. Sorry to hear about the flu! :-(
We are now in a small village in Provence in a rental house - très charmant (very charming). Today we went to an open air market and then went wine tasting in the countryside. Tomorrow we will go to Avignon; it was the city of popes before Vatican City in Rome. Lots of history! Bruce and Kevin have bad allergies; it is very warm (80s) and everything is blooming; it is beautiful here.
We return on Mother's Day, so I will be able to visit you at LPCH. I miss talking with you and your Mom so much! Well take care and stay HEALTHY!
Love, Susan

Bonjour Haley and bonne anniversaire,
Bruce and I are in France and checking messages real quick. I was hoping to see photos from your birthday party; but no such luck. Maybe next time I visit...
Well, take care and keep us all posted on how you feel, even if the photos do not change.

Dear Haley,
You have been in my daily thoughts and prayers. How wonderful that your Mom and Hilbert married! And what a beautiful maid of honour you were. Maryellen returned yesterday from Utah with Sharky and Kayla. She saw lots of beautiful scenery in Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon and took tons of great pictures. I hope that we all can have a visit sometime soon and that you are doing ok.
Blessings and Love, Karen

Hi Haley..it is Aunt Jeanne..I have been out of circulation for almost two weeks (Catherization and pacemaker) but am home now and hopefully on the road to recovery !! so now I can stay in touch with you. I was suprised to hear of the wedding ...your Mom looks very happy and YOU look beautiful ! One "advantage" of all of this is you can change your hair style when ever you want..long..short..or anything in between :-) Your smile and courage were an inspiration to me...I figured if you could do what you were doing then I could do what I had to...thank you for helping me. Love and best wishes from Cleveland. Aunt Jeanne

Hi Haley, My name is Argie you can call me "RG" for short you don't know me but I work with your Aunt Susan, she tells me how strong you have been, we are all very proud of you. I have 3 children 2 boys and a girl. their names are Jonathon 12, Elissa 10 & James 5. They like to do kid things like you do and they are looking forward to the summer as I am sure you are too. We live near St. Louis, you know the big Arch, it is very cool, some day you should visit it, you might not know this but you can take a very small elevator all the way to the top, there are a bunch of windows up there and you can see all of St. Louis and the Great Mississippi river. It's very cool. Well thats it for now, your Aunt Susan is very proud of you, keep up the good work and lets talk soon. Your Friend, RG.

Hi, Haley--
Just Aunt Susan reporting in. I wore my new Haley's Angels t-shirt with pride today in the MS Walk (10k = 6 miles). It is sure a beautiful day today; hope you get a chance to enjoy the sunshine!
I had a little trouble with your website yesterday; the first time I typed the new journal entry, it vanished into cyberspace; so I reposted it today. At least the photos went through fine. :-)
You are doing an awesome job of "living strong"! Lance would be proud. We all are so proud of you.
Love, Susan
PS I added up all of the donations I collected; so far it's $1,500 for the Haley Baxter Medical Fund and more than $5,300 for the American Cancer Society. WOW!

It's Aunt Susan again. We are making great progress on the "Haley's Angels" stuff for the Relay for Life. Orders for t-shirts, water bottles, etc. go in this week. Should have everything in time for your 13th birthday - yea! I will wear my t-shirt everywhere while I'm training for the walk, and tell people all about you. Are you feeling up to taking walks with your Mom? Hope so, especially now that the weather is getting nice. Take care!

Hi Haley, Round 3. Good work. Kelly allowed herself a day or 2 following Chemo to eat anything she felt like (usually that wasn't very much, so whatever DID sound good, she GOT!), and then she'd buckle back down to the hard work of eating "healing fuel". She's 2 years out of treatment and will graduate High School this June. It's all worth it!
Get stronger kiddo!

Haley, you must be a strong and determined young lady. I know your Aunt Susan through her Weekender business. My family has been hit with many major disaster over the years, cancer being one of them. It is hard to know why this is happening and sometimes the answers don't matter. What does is knowing your family, friends and people who don't even know you are supporting you. We are praying for you. Keep God, love and laughter in every day of your life. They, too, are powerful forms of medicine. From your pictures, I know you are a sweet girl. Hi, Haley--
Did you hear I'm on jury duty? It's a criminal case, so I will be in the courtroom listening to evidence for ~2 weeks! Don't worry, we don't have court on Fridays, so I will still be able to attend the fashion show on March 11.
I mailed out a bunch of letters to tell people about you, your recovery, and the Relay for Life. I've already received 2 checks for the American Cancer Society. You make a great poster girl!! I'm sure more checks are on their way.
Hope your white count will be up soon so you can go to school and see your friends (and study, too). Take care & see you this weekend at Grandma's house for her birthday.

Hello, Miss Haley-pie - a quick note to let you know how much we miss you. Finally made connections with Grandma-Mac to give her the bag of books I'd put together - some too young for you, I think, but it can be fun to read those when you're feeling quiet. Some others are mysteries; one or two may be a little old for you, but challenge is good, saith the Lord! You are certainly strong and brave in meeting the challenge to your health - we're all so proud of you and send buckets of love. Ginny

I've been following your progress on your website and am so excited that you will be modeling for us this year! I talked to your mom today and set up the appointment for your fitting at Macy's. That will be lot's of fun, selecting what you will wear, but the day of the show is great fun, too. You will have your make-up done by make-up specialists and there will be beauticians there to style hair and wigs for all the models. There are four young models this year, including you... a six year old girl and boys, four and nine years old will join you. Needless to say, it will a wonderful day.... Hi Haley,

I'm a friend of your Aunt Susan's. I am writing to let you know that you and your family are on the prayer list at my church in Pacifica. That means that you and your family are prayed for by name at two services every Sunday morning and throughout the week by folks who take that prayer list home for their daily prayers. I have also asked my former church in Atlanta to add you to their prayer list so now you are being prayed for on both coasts!

This whole experience cannot be much fun and it certainly isn't something you would choose as part of your life experience. Given all that, it sounds like you are really stepping up to the challenge, and inspiring some folks along the way! Pretty cool!!

Know that there are lots of folks praying for you every single day, trusting God for your full recovery. Remember that when you can't hold that thought, that others around you can hold it until you are ready to pick it up again.

It's clear from this guestbook that you are well-loved. Remember that all love comes from God -- we humans are just a part of God's delivery system!!

God's love and peace continue to be with you,
Sue

Dear Haley,
I'm Laurie, Kelly's mom. Kelly had cancer when she was 14. When she had low blood counts and low energy she would need me (and Dad and little Sister) do some of the rowing for her, but she always left her hands on the oars. We'd stay near, we'd bring food offerings and soft stuffed animals to hug, and we'd pray. Her job was to think positive thoughts, to take tiny sips and tiny bites, and to know she was loved. Keep your hands on the oars even if someone else is doing most of the pulling, because you will feel their strength. And their strength will flow into you. Next week you'll do some heavy pulling of your own Haley. Be fierce.

Hi, Haley--
It's Aunt Susan again. I check your site all the time. You sure have a lot of support out there! I just wanted you to know that your strength and faith are impressive. You've inspired me to go to church more often and renew my relationship with God. (I'll bet you've inspired a lot of people!) As your Mom says, God has a plan for you. Stay tuned... and row that boat. :-)
Lots of love,
Susan (& Bruce) ooo xxx
