Dawn-Monique Elkin Welcome to our Web Page. It has been created to keep our friends and family updated since Dawn-Monique's diagnosis of a rare abdominal cancer called pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP). Also includes updates on Sage's Urinary Reflux/Kidney condition; and the ups and downs and in-betweens in the lives of all 5 of us! (Chris, DM, Dakota, Avery and Sage.)

Wednesday, May 24, 2006 11:34 PM CDT Hi All-
Well, we hit the one year mark of our surgeries (Me last March, Sage last April, Avery last May, and me again, last June).
Avery seems to be doing well. He survived the recent allergy season with limited symptoms. Mostly an itchy nose... which he sticks his finger into to relieve! Makes a mother proud :) He is scheduled to be tested for allergies again this August.
Overall Sage seems great. I took her off the antibiotics in January and she hasn't had any infections. Her latest sonogram does show continuing reflux, unfortunately. Her urologist and surgeon think she may have a bladder blockage as a result of the surgery. She is schedueld to have more tests (Nucleur Renal-Bladder Scan) on June 11th. We'll take it from there...
My white cell cout is still low. More testing and a CT scan on June 2nd. Overall I feel great... just tired and on edge (thanks to menopause) but healthy!!!!
Dakota is about to graduate from 4th grade and Avery from preschool! And Sage is almost 3!!! Chris got accepted into UC Berkeley's MBA program: A big accomplishment for sure! Life is moving along.
I'll add more after the reults come in from Sage's next tests and mine as well!!
We are looking forward to our summer trips and an upcoming move down the street in early Fall.
Lots of love- Dawn-Monique
