I created this web site to keep family and friends updated on Bryan's condition. Here's Bryan's story: On New Years Eve 2002 my precious husband was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is 27 years old. He achieved remission after induction chemo therapy in January. Bryan has recieved 16 pints of hemoglobin, 14 pints of platelets and we have spent 26 nights in 2 West at Kaiser Hospital. As of June 16, Bryan is on maintenance chemo. Bryan is "kicking lots of leukemia butt", and surrounded by the love of friends and family. On September 5, 2006, Bryan relapsed. He is currently undergoing chemo therapy and is in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Bryan's treatment schedule is as follows:
Induction chemotherapy: January
Consolodation chemotherapy: Feb - June
Maintenance: June '03 - Dec '04

Please sign our guest book - we love reading all the messages!

I thought I would start a list of some well known young adults fighting Leukemia/Lymphoma too:

Barry Watson - Actor (Starred on 7th Heaven), 28 years old, battling Lymphoma

Kevin Hearn - Musician in Bare Nekkid Ladies, beat AML with a BMT. Wrote the album H-Wing during isolation. Check out kevinhearn.com for the deets.

Austin Cameron - NASCAR Winston West Driver, 27 years old, battling Lymphoma

Ken Watanabe - Actor (latest movie The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise), beat AML in his 20's (even relapsed once)

Day +69

Wow time is flying! We saw Dr. F today and Bryan continues to amaze and stun him with his progress. They are lowering his steroids, taken him off Tacralimus and Prograph all together. He's managing his magnesium levels well and the only thing the doc said was for Bry to drink more gatoraid instead of free water cause he needs more sodium!

Bryan is feeling great and it's getting harder and harder to limit his activities as he's ready to get back into life. What could be better?

XO-
Karen
