Dillon,

Today makes 2 years since you joined the Angels. Sometimes it seems much longer other times it seems just like yesterday. I've finally realized that you are not coming back and that's been hard. I still don't understand why you had to leave, but I hope someday I will. Zack loves playing with a lot of your old toys now. He's getting so big, he's alomost as big as you were. We love you and miss you very much, but I know you are in a better place. All my love Mommy!! You still my Big Boy!!!

Dillon,

We could have never guessed the day you were born how short your stay on earth would be. The 3 1/2 years went by so fast, and now it's been a year since you went to Heaven. I still don't know why you had to go, but I hope I will some day We think about you every day. I miss your laugh and smile. You will always be my "Big Boy" Zack likes to talk to your picture. We love you and miss you more than ever.

Love Always,
Mommy

Dillon became an Angel last Tuesday around 8:20 p.m. He died peacefully at home on the love seat with his mommy and daddy beside him. Dillon fought Neuroblastoma for 22 months 6 days. He was the bravest toughest little boys I've ever known. It's very hard going on without him. Everywhere I look something reminds me of something Dillon said or did. Dillon we love you and will never forget you or your smile!!

Things are not going good with Dillon. Tuesday night he had a stroke. The CT showed new tumor growth. We have brought him home. There is nothing else we can do. It's just a matter of time now. He has started talking again and eating. He painted Easter eggs this morning. I'll try to let everyone know how things are going

Dillon is doing good since he started the new chemo. His walking has improved. He gets sick the day after chemo, then he is fine. He's getting chemo every Tuesday and Friday until the 25th of March. He has an MRI that day to see how the tumors are responding.

Tuesday February 12, 2002 5:51 PM CST

Dillon had the dye test done yesterday. It showed spinal fluid was flowing great. He started spinal chemo today. He'll get it every Tuesday and Friday for 6 weeks. He'll have another MRI on March 25th, if all is good then he'll continue chemo.

Saturday February 9, 2002 1:28 PM CST

Dillon had his MRI yesterday, the results weren't good. The covering of the brain, spinal fluid, and the spine show increased cancer cells. They are going to do a dye test Monday. They will inject a dye in his spine and do scans at 4 and 24 hours to see if the dye is getting through the spinal fluid. If it is then we are going to try a spinal chemo(Topotecan). If the dye doesn't go through then they are going to have to see what else we might try. I'll try to post again Tuesday with the results.

Dillon is getting ready for transplant. On Jan. 30th he has a bone scan and bone marrow biopsy. On Feb. 4th he is having a bone marrow harvest and central line placement. That should get to be done as an outpatient. On Feb. 6th he has a CT of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis, and a dental exam. We are going to see ear in the Big Blue House the night of the 6th. On Feb. 10th I start giving Dillon chemo at home 4 times a day for 3 days, then on the 13th he gets admitted. He will have 5 more days of chemo the the transplant sometime around the 19th or 20th. If nothing changes. Sometime after the transplant we will go to St. Jude in Memphis for 6 weeks of radiation and then a bone marrow transplant using an unrelated donor. We will be there for about 2 months. I'll let everyone know how he is doing.

January 15, 2002 6:22 p.m.

We had a merry Christmas and a good New Year. Dillon finished round 5 of chemo last Friday. On January 4th we went to St. Jude hospital in Memphis, TN. We have decided to do something that has never been done on a Neuroblastoma kid before. We are going in the hospital on February 11th to do a bone marrow transplant using Dillon's own bone marrow. Then after he recovers from that we will go to St. Jude for 6 weeks of radiation to the brain and spine. Then after the radiation they will do a bone marrow transplant using an unrelated donor. That will only take a couple of days. We will be in memphis for about 2 months. The doctors feel that is Dillon's best chance for a cure. We will be doing the bone marrow harvest on Dillon sometime in a couple of weeks. He is feeling good this week. The chemo made him sick last week. He has to get platelets tomorrow. I'll keep everybody posted on what's going on. Zack is getting big. Check back in a couple of days for new pictures.

Sunday, December 16, 2001 at 02:37 PM (CST)

Dillon finished round 5 of chemo on Friday. We also found out Friday that Zack is not a cord blood match for Dillon. Dillon's name has been added to the National Cord Blood bank so we can find a match that way. We should have a match in about a week Dillon's bone marrow is also clear, so he shouldn't have to get blood or platlets so much any more. I'll let every one know when we get a cord blood match.

Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 12:48 PM (CST)

Dillon became a big brother on Dec. 1. Zack weighed 7 lbs 5.5oz and 19 inches long. Dillon is getting chemo this week. His bone marrow harvest has been postponed until Jan 7th if zack's cord blood dosen't match Dillon. We will know in a few days if they match or not.

Dillon had scans yesterday. The tumors in the brain were about 1 1/2 inches when he relasped now they are about 1/2-3/4 inches. They have shrunk quite a bit. His counts came back up on their own this time. This was the 1st round of chemo that he didn't need a blood transfusion afterwards. He starts round 5 of chemo around the 17th of December. He has a bone marrow harvest on the 12th of December. Dillon will probally become a big brother on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at 02:05 PM (CDT)

Dillon didn't get to start chemo yesterday. His red blood cells and platlets were to low. He had a blood transfussion yesterday. His scans were good.
