Welcome to Todd's Web Page. He was diagnosed 5/9/03 as being out of remission with ALL leukemia which was about 90 days after completing a chemotherapy program for 2 years 9 months. He went back into remission in 4 weeks due to the wonderful care of his doctor and nurse practitioner @ Children's Hospital and the entire team behind them. His transplant was 8/8/03 at DFCI/BWH in Boston who accepted him as a patient. Please keep him in your prayers and feel free to track his progress towards beating leukemia.

Checking in:
o Todd will receive some additional cells from his donor soon. A test indicated he could have some bad cells still roaming around, but a bone marrow aspiration confirmed he is in remission and spinal fluid is also clear. We are so thankful that his donor has agreed to do this for him. She is truly a blessing in our lives. The procedure itself should not require him to be in Boston more than about 3 days.

o I am back in training for the Mercedes Marathon -- this time I will only do a half (13.1 miles). I have completed fund raising for that event. We will walk with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team In Training for 7 miles tomorrow a.m. The next full marathon (26.2 miles) on the drawing board is next June in San Diego....I would very much like to dodge training in the severe heat of summer and I am about 1/3 of the way done with fund raising so far. Then I plan to do a half marathon in September in Boston. I just feel that there is so much more research that needs to be done and want to use my energy in that area.

o Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive of Todd in prayer and in so many, many ways along this 4 1/2 year journey to date. As the apostle Paul would probably say, "I thank God for you every day."

Praying and walking to beat leukemia,

Gail
