Hi Jackson,
I was just getting ready to present a program at our church on Hugs and Hope. Marsha said that I could promote Hugs and Hope in my area of South Carolina. I put all 97 children's names in a bright yellow envelope and I drew out one name. Guess who it was? YOURS! I was then looking up your information and your photo so I could put a face with your name. I have enjoyed your web site.
I am sorry that I missed your birthday. I hope that it was great. I moved here in SC from NY and they do not have red velvet cakes up there. I think that will be my cake choice the next time my birthday comes along (January).
We had firecrackers last night and I was just out picking up the rocket sticks that landed in the back yard. I did not find all of them so some must have gone farer than our yard and maybe in the field behind.
It was nice writting to you. A friend just called and I have to go and get some figs. He has some to give away. I make fig jam for the neighbor. He loves it and looks forward to his yearly supply! That means work tomorrow for Me!

I am glad the lung tests went well. Sorry about the weight loss issues. I had a horrible time with weight loss. I know Jackson has a G tube. You might try getting a formula to run over night. 2 Cal, Peptamine 1.5, and Peptanex DT are ones I have used. The food poi has also really helped me (it gets mixed with my tube feeds). I hope the port is okay. TPA has helped my port. Hope this week is a good one!

My daughter and husband went to Atlanta last year. They go for Newman #12. I go for Kenseth #17. My youngest daughter gets chemotherapy for a brain tumor. She is doing okay. But it's tough. Caring Bridge friends and family,
‘Form letters’ are not one of my favorite things because they don’t seem very personal. I guess the up-side
is you can reach more people quicker and have a message that contains thoughts you want to share with all.
So, I send you a message during this holiday season that I hope will fill your heart with love, joy, peace,
contentment, happiness, hope, and all the magnificent blessings that are available through our Lord. I hope
this ‘impersonal’ type of message will still share my heart-felt thoughts and love for each of you.
As I began to think of a message, I wondered just how could I find words with the above mentioned
attributes when so many of you are facing tough obstacles. Some are in the middle of treatments. Others
may be waiting for test results. Some have received good news. Others may not. And, some will have an empty chair at the table during Christmas dinner and perhaps less presents under the tree.
No, I cannot find the words to adequately express to you how important you are to me. It is by God’s love,
mercy, and grace that I hope to encourage you during this time of the year.
Many think of Christmas as the birthday of our Lord. I have always thought that the birth of Jesus was far
more important than the actual date. His love for me, his willingness to take my place on that cross, and his
resurrection, all work to give me hope of having an eternal life with him. This time of the year does have the
ability to bring out a renewed sense of devotion and thanksgiving for what Jesus did for us. I hope that in
spite of all the rough roads you are traveling, that you will be able to grasp hold of all the spiritual blessings
that can be found through Jesus.
May God’s richest blessings shower you and your family. May His love sustain you through difficult days.
May you depend on God to help you make your journey one day at a time.
And last, I want to thank each of you for allowing me to be a part of your life. Caring Bridge has opened
doors for me that have provided some of the richest blessings I’ve ever known! I’ve said many times that I
don’t know what you are facing and I don’t have a clue in understanding what each day brings your way.
But you have allowed me to be a part of your ‘world’ and for that I am thankful. I may not say it enough,
but thank you so very much for blessing my life. You and your children have shown me what bravery and
attitude is all about. Young children have been the teacher and an old man has been the student.

KRistal just called. Jackson's left lobe opened up. The right one has collapsed; they had to do another bronchopscopy (I'm SURE that's spelled wrong, but you get the drift.) She said he is coughing up huge amounts of awful green globs, the culture should start growing today from two or three days ago so they'll know more. He is running a 101 fever, down from 103 though!
She said Jackson was terribly depressed and had been crying all morning.

They started him on another antibiotic this morning. He had a bronchoscopy this morning and got lots of gunk out of the lungs. His doctors may repeat it in two days (so he's not going home anytime soon)Temperature was 103 all night, currently is 101.4
I talked to Jackson on the phone, his throat was sore of course, and he sounded tired. He is always SO polite! :) I'll call Kristal again tomorrow and keep you posted.

Jackson went in the hospital. One lobe of his lung has already collapsed; they started him on a very large dose of antibiotics this time, to try and nip it in the bud. Tomorrow they will do a broncopscopy (Have no idea if I spelled that correctly.) That will take out the crud and do a culture. His oxygen levels are pretty good, considering. He's too congested for bipap and is NOT on oxygen yet.
I will be calling in the afternoon tomorrow to see how he is doing, so watch the guestbook for the update. Not sure if Brandy (sister) will get a chance to post the journal update or not. She has been at the hospital with Jackson and Kristal.

Hello Caring Bridge Friends,
I know it has been awhile since I have signed pages, I have been very consumed with work and some classes I am taking. Not to mention the never ending Family Loving Chaos. However, this includes is my cry for help! I just learned that a dear friend's son who has ALL has relapsed! He has been in remission and receiving treatment for 2 years and 4 months to the day, when they got the news. As a Cancer Parent this is the worse thing to hear. Every day we try to go along with our daily activities. We believe with all our hearts and Faith that our babies are 1 day closer to hearing the blessed words that they are considered "cured".
This was just a devastating reminder that each day is equally as possible that it could go the other direction! I can't describe the fear I am feeling now for their family as well as our own!
Susie Breuer the mother of *Bryce*, is a remarkable woman and they have a remarkable family! She is the mother of five great boys and an equally wonderful husband. They live just north of Rochester, MN. Bryce is 7 years old now and was diagnosed just before his 5th Birthday.
When we were still new to the Medical World of ALL and I had been asking a lot of questions about our boys and how we can try to keep their lives somewhat normal. With Susie's permission, one of the nurses introduced us when we happened to be there for appointments at the same time. She was great, we spent many hours on the phone comparing notes and supporting each other. On Sierra’s 6 month anniversary of her diagnosis we had a blood and marrow registry drive in Sierra's honor. The Breuers drove all the way from Goodhue to donate and get registered.
We had connected many times when Sierra and Bryce were on the same appointment schedules. And there were a few times when Sierra wasn't doing so well with her appointments and out of no where Susie would arrive armed with cheetos and get Sierra smiling again!! They have had us to their farm to play and as you can imagine the kids had a ball! My heart aches for their family and once again the overwhelming helplessness is taking over! So I did the first thing I could think of and that was to pray!!! And also ask everyone I knew to pray as well.
I know we all have our own things going on but they could use all the well wishes and prayers they can get right now.
Also some of you may know *Chance* He is a very strong young man who had Cancer when he was 3 but overcame it. He now suffers from numerous seizures. Despite his own battles he spends hours going to children’s sites and encouraging them. Not long ago his mother found out she had cancer, and yesterday I found out she earned her Angel Wings. I think it is our time to return some of that strength he as passed on to so many.
This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, he saw me, and he asked:
"My child, what is your greatest wish for today?" I responded:
"Lord, please take care of the person who is reading this message,their family and their special friends. They deserve it, and I love them very much".
The love of God is like the ocean: you can see its beginning, but not its end. And you never want to turn your back on it!

I'm glad you guys are safe from the hurricane. We made it through here in Birmingham with minimal damage. Just a bunch of limbs down all over the yard. The kids trampoline went flying into the neighbors yard and a lot of lost shingles off of the roof. We had 11 family members evacuated here from Louisiana. My mom had 15 at her house. My grandfather in Bay St.Louis lost everything. What a mess everything has been! I know the frustrations of Fema and the Red Cross, I have been trying to help my family members get through to them. I hope you guys have a great week!

I am so glade to hear you guys are ok. I am been praying for you guys every night. and was going to try calling tonite to see if you guys where ok. I had crys of joy come down my eyes to see that you guys where ok. From wachting the news any every thing hearing how bad it was and hearing from friends down their that are in the coast gaurd I good only just pray. I have had my mind ready in case I got the call to come down their and to help out as a parimedic but haven't gotten that call yet. But I am so happy that you guys are all ok and safe.
