Hello Alice and Blake,
This seems a strange way to get in touch with people from your past, but as I was reminiscing about some of the best people I ever knew in my life, Blake popped into my head and I just had to see if I could look you guys up.

Blake may not even remember me, I used to work with him about 20 odd years ago at Rose's and I considered him one of my best friends. He invited me to your wedding and as I didn't drive then I couldn't go. But he did show us your wedding pictures and the one that sticks in my head is the one of you both standing in front of a stained glass window.

Now that he may remember me I want to offer my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your little Alexis and congradulations on the birth of your other three girls.

I myself have non Hodgkin's lymphoma and wanted to touch base with the good people I have had in my life. I always felt like I knew you Alice, because Blake always sang your praises.

It would up to you guys if you would like to touch base, my e-mail is there for all to see, I just needed to do this for me.

Thanks for reading

Dear Mr. Hallmark,

I am writing to you from heaven, and though it must appear,
A rather strange idea, I see everything from here,
I just popped in to visit, your stores to find a card,
A card of love for my parents, as this day for them is hard,
There must be some mistake I thought, every card you can imagine,
except I could not find a card, from a child that lives in heaven,
they are still a parent too, no matter where I reside,
I had to leave, they understand, but oh the tears they cried,
I thought that if I wrote to you, that you would come to know,
that though I live in heaven now, I still love my parents so,
they talk with me, and dreams with me, we still share laughter too,
memories are our way of speaking now, would you see what you can do?
my parents carry me in their heart, their tears they hide from sight,
they plants flowers in my garden, there my living memory dwells,
they writes to other grieving parents, trying to ease there pain as well,
so you see Mr. Hallmark, though I no longer live on earth,
I must find a way, to remind her of her wondrous worth,
they need to be honored, and be remembered too,
just as the children of the earth will do,
thank you Mr. Hallmark, I know you will do your best,
find a way to tell them, how much they mean to me,
until I can do it for myself, when she joins me in eternity.

I know Christmas must be so hard for you although I can't comprehend how difficult it must be.

All my love,

Viks

Today is a beautiful day. A day when an angel was born. I hope this finds you peace on this difficult day. Alexis thought you needed two babies if this was to be the last babies you had.

May you be blessed with 2 happy, healthy baby girls. God Bless and keep your family.

I still read this...so happy to see an update. I never "knew" Alexis before she became an angel, but I did get to her website through Share the Love...they continue to share her rememberance dates. I've always remembered your little girls face because I've always, always had a "thing" for little redheaded kids. Like I said, I was thrilled to see and update, and I'd love to see pics of all the new little girls.

The Cord

We are connected my child and I,
by an invisible cord not seen by the eye.

It is not like the cord
that connects us til birth
this cord can't be seen
by any on earth

This cord does it's work
right from the start
it binds us together
attached to my heart.

I know that it's there
though no one can see
the invisible cord
from my child to me.

The strength of this cord
is hard to describe.
It can't be destroyed,
it can't be denied

It's stronger than any cord
man could create.
It withstands the test
can hold any weight

and though you are gone
though your not here with me
the cord is still there
but no one can see

It pulls at my heart,
I am bruised....... I am sore
But this cord is my lifeline
as never before..

I am thankful that God
connects us this way
a mother and child
death can't take it away!!!!!!!

A PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS

God Give Us eyes this Christmas
To see the Christmas Star.
And give us ears to hear the song
of angels from afar

And, with our eyes and ears attuned
for a message from above,
Let "Christmas Angels" speak to us
of hope and faith and love

Hope to light our pathway
When the way ahead is dark,
Hope to sing through stormy days,
with the sweetness of the lark

Faith to trust in things unseen
and know beyond all seeing
That it is in our Fathers love
We live and have our being

And love to break down barriers
of color, race and creed,
Love to see and understand
and help all those in need.

Lord, bless those we love this Christmas Day,be they near or far away Bless those good friends who mean so much and those with whom we're out of touch. We bring them all to You in prayer, and ask You to keep them in Your care.

Please know that you are thought of, in a very special way, not just this beautiful season but every day.

Wishing you all a holiday filled with warm and loving memories, joy and peace but most of all hope in the reunion that awaits us all in Heaven.

I see the countless Christmas trees
around the world below
With tiny light, like Heaven's stars
reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular,
please wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you
of the joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description
to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart
for I am spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year.

I can't tell you of the splendor
or the peace here in this place
Can you just imagine Christmas
with our Savior face to face?

I'll ask Him to lift your spirit
as I tell Him of your love
so then pray for one another
as you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful
and let your spirit sing
for I am spending Christmas in Heaven
and I'm walking with the King.

By Wanda Bencke~
May God bless you.
Love and hugs

So sorry it was late but was in GERMANY With My Daughter and family to get away and do some healing from my own loss. I pray that God will watch over you and ease your loss each day but we will never forget our special angels as they are always a part of our lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I work with Mr. and Mrs. Bailey's (your former neighbors)daughter Sheila. She told me about this website a month before Alexis passed away. For some reason, I was drawn to it today and to this portion; I have never looked at the guest book before--what a wonderful network of support you have!! This is amazing; ; you and Blake and the boys are amazing. God has not only given you a wonderful source of strength through this website; he has given all of us who know you a wonderful source of strength through your example. I love all of you dearly and we keep you in our prayers(Savannah still prays for Alexis every night; she cannot quite let go yet, but she has added Adam and Isaac to her prayer list).

It has been 1 year and 5 months since Holten passed and I still find myself checking on him and listening for him to yell for me. But each day it does get easier to go about normal daily chores. Take your time and take care of yourself, they are in heaven together playing Zach, Holten and Alexis and not hurting at all healthy little babies now...I love you guys if you need me please don't hesitate to call me..

Hey Al,
Tomorrow while be the 11 month mark since Austin earned his wings. I still find myself wandering into his room, sitting in his rocking chair, holding his stuffed animals, and thinking about his amazing little life. My heart aches daily for his absence but I do thank God that I know where he is.

I know that Alexis is in every thought and breathe that you take and this will continue for a long time. Memories are our gift of knowing them. Your faith WILL get you through every single rocky spot in the road. Pick up those 'rocks' and throw them if you need too. I have found out that it helps at times.

I miss Alexis too, and I know that Austin is loving her. Remember how shy he would get around her, the few times that we were able to let him see her on 4 Tower.

I pray for each of you every day. I treasure our friendship and I will always be here for you.

God Bless,

Another angel takes flight.

My deepest, most sincere sympathy and condolences to each and every one of you!! Alexis was a fighter, there is no doubt about that! She is now pain free, free to fly in the Heavens and watch over all of you!
We lost our precious Pam on Oct. 7, 2003, so I know what you are going through. There are no words that can ease the pain.

The worst thing that can happen to a parent is to lose a child. It feels like someone ripped your heart out. You go from the unbelievable to the unbearable.

Alexis is in a good place now and I'm sure Pam is with her. She just loved children so much.

I would just like to share a saying that was on the card my wife Diane picked out, and we bought for Pam:

If you were a star
That wasn’t expected back
In the universe
For a thousand years,
I’d wait.

If you were the sky
And everyone went inside
When you got sad
And started to rain,
I’d stay.

And if you were a peach
And the world decided to get rid of all peaches,
I’d pick you up,
Put you in my pocket…

AND KEEP YOU……..FOREVER.

I would also like to share, with you and your family, a poem that was put on Pams website:
God's Garden

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best

He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace Be Thine."

It breaks our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You are all in our prayers. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Good morning Al,
Jeremiah 29:11-13 is one of my all time favorites. When I went on my "Walk to Emmaus" five years ago, that was my verse for the weekend. That verse brings me comfort and peace. God does know the plans for our lives and even though we cannot see the 'big picture' I feel confident in knowing that He will bring us through every breath of our lives.

You and Alexis, Blake and the boys, are never far from my thoughts and my prayers.

I love you my friend and I will see you soon.

Hi Alice - I'm so glad to hear that Alexis is doing well. Eli has done well since his transplant last November 6, 2002. Unfortunately, he developed shingles last Friday and was admitted to Children's Sunday, Sept. 28. We hope he can get out of here early next week. This has been his only admission this year. They say 7-10 days.

He is a freshman at Auburn and doing well so far. We'll see how this admission affects his grades.

I just learned of Caringbridge this week. I wish I had known about it a year ago. Take care.

Alice, Lexie looked so good in clinic wed. even if she yelled at us everytime we spoke or touched her. We love her anyway. She is getting so tall. Where do you think she gets that from??? Maybe after she gets her hearing aids and can hear all the sounds around her, she want be so scared. It breaks my heart for her to scream. Alice, I know what you have been through this past year has made Mother's Day (and every day that you are all together) a VERY SPECIAL DAY. I mentioned this to Mike when we were getting ready to go to Church Sunday, after I had opened up my Mother's Day presents. I certainly know that what Alexis and Mike have been through has made my family and my friends even more precious to me, and I'm so grateful that God answered our prayers to heal them. We are thinking of you often and keeping all of you in our prayers. Lots of love, The Johnson Family (Mike, Martha, Jacob, & Jessica)

Hi Alice and Lindsey family,
I am so glad to read of Alexis' progress and good reports. We continue to think of you and pray for you even though our paths never cross at school. I have two children in St. Paul's, but not in your children's grades. In reading the journals, I realize that you have been gone for 2 and a half months so no wonder our paths don't cross. Your faith in the Lord Jesus shines through your journal entries and are an encouragement to me as I read. You are proving to me that His grace is sufficient and that His promises are trustworthy. Thank you! We will keep on praying for Alexis and each one of you.

But no, it will be cold, grey and wet :( So please send some warmth and sunshine my way please?? :) Thank you so much for you message in my guestbook...hehehe...I couldn't help but laugh when reading it...yeah, we call flashlights "torchlights" or "torch" here...I think we refer to quite a few things differently from Americans :) Like, we say "petrol" but you say "gas"... :) I love it!

Alice, I enjoyed seeing Alexis and the boys pictures. I am so happy that all of you are back home. I enjoy having Adam in my Sunday School Class, he cited all of the books of the Bible to us! I know you are very proud of your family and I will keep praying for all of you every day. I hope that Blake will do well in the Bible Trivia Contest. Does Bro. Jerry know about this, he will be so excited! We Love all of you very much! Jimmy and Glenda

Dear Alexis and Alice

I am Jo Jo, Austin's grandmother. I read your note to Austin and I had to pull up Alexis's page. She looks so good. I am glad that she is doing so good. Praise God. Thank you for all you have done for Austin and Tina.

I came across your web page in another child's guest book and read the journal entries. Your little girl is a real cutie. I offer a prayer now as I sign the book that she will defeat this beast and grow up happy, healthy and strong. Visit my web page for a little guy, dx in June of 02 as well, had surgery, chemo, radiation and now more chemo. Due to be done with treatment in Aug 03. the url for it is www.caringbridge.org/wa/cameronboyd. Treatment seems to be different, as he has not had transplant.
Love is the best medicine!

We'll be glad to have you back in Sunday School but you probably won't fit. We had people standing outside at the window listening to the lesson this past Sunday (actually it was Pete so that explains a lot). I guess we are just going to have to find (or build!) a bigger place to meet. Can't wait to have you back with the gang.
Love in Christ,

I prayed extra, extra hard for you all yesterday. I will continue to pray that your daughter be healed of this dreadful disease.

I saw this on another child's website and wanted to pass it along to you. Stay strong, my friend!
