Beth Monsrud Chair
Beth has more than 20 years of experience in the financial management field. She joined UCare in 2001 as controller, and was named senior vice president and CFO in 2008. In 2009 she was recognized by the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal as a “Woman to Watch” and received the Women’s Health Leadership Trust’s Mid Career Award.
Bill McKinney Vice Chair
Bill is Vice President of Strategic Development at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. In his 10 years with Thrivent, Bill has spearheaded a multitude of initiatives, from creating innovative financial education programs to redesigning the firm's grass-roots volunteer system that raises tens of millions of dollars to support local charitable causes.
Cheryl Newell Treasurer
Cheryl owns Money$marts, LLC, teaching Essentials of Personal Finance for Young Adults. Her work in the corporate world with budgets, cash flow, debt and risk management, coupled with her training and development experience, gives her a unique background for teaching others about financial literacy. She also does consulting work for small businesses on financial and cash flow matters through Newell Consulting LLC.
Leigh Bailey Secretary
Leigh is the founder and CEO of The Bailey Group, a leadership development firm which consults with executive level leaders and leadership teams. Through executive coaching, team building, strategic planning and consulting, Leigh and his team have helped hundreds of leaders and teams reach their highest potential and achieve remarkable business outcomes.
Karen is a consultant with Trexin and is currently working at Regis Corporation. Prior to this she spent over 25 years in various leadership roles with Best Buy and the Geek Squad. Karen first encountered CaringBridge as a site author in 2007 when her infant daughter was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. She has a passion for giving back to the organizations that she leaned on during her daughter's treatment and ultimate recovery.
Lawrence J. Massa
Lawrence (Lorry) became president and CEO of the Minnesota Hospital Association in October 2008, continuing a 25-year career as a hospital and healthcare leader in the Upper Midwest. Lorry has served on numerous non-profit boards throughout his career. In addition to CaringBridge, Lorry currently serves on the board of the March of Dimes, Minnesota chapter.
Mikisha is a results-driven leader who has filled roles in government, academic, corporate, and community-based settings, most recently at Breakthrough Twin Cities. Her strong track record includes promoting health, education, and wellbeing of diverse populations. In addition to her work with CaringBridge, she is a member of the Greater Twin Cities United Way Women’s Leadership Council.
Dr. Ann O’Connor Sandgren
Ann specializes in health psychology focusing on persons affected by cancer and hospitalized patients facing serious illnesses. She’s learned from her work that time is precious, to slow down and be more intentional about living the moments well, and to take time for what matters most.
Wesley is the vice president of marketing and innovation technology at Sysco, Inc., a US$45 billion food distribution company serving restaurants, hotels and others in North America and expanding globally. Wesley has broad experience within an agile environment with focus on e-commerce, business intelligence and innovation.
Kathy brings a wealth of experience and leadership in the healthcare industry to CaringBridge. Currently, Kathy holds the Chief Operating Officer title at edifyHEALTH. She is also the Interim President and COO of the Consortium for Local Ownership and Use of Data, Inc. (CLOUD), a nonprofit dedicated to restructuring the Internet to enhance privacy and security.
Shawn A. Teal
Shawn has over 20 years of remarkable executive leadership experience in owning, managing, and building nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Currently, Shawn is Vice President of Community Relations and Development with the Fairview Health Systems Foundation and is responsible for all major gift fundraising and community relations programs and planning.
Jason Van de Loo
Jason brings 15 years experience building digitally driven consumer brands and driving growth. He is currently with Financial Engines, a Silicon Valley technology and services firm; prior to that, he was with Everspring, a venture-backed startup with a focus on online learning programs.
