Hi Everyone!
It has been such a long time since I signed on. I am now 17 months cancer free. Every day is a blessing for me. I like taking some time each day talking to GOD and seeing the beautiful skies and trees around me. Alyssa and I have spent our past weekends walking around the neighborhood getting to know our distant neighbors and watching everyone get ready for Halloween. We have been blessed with beautiful weather.
Things are going well for me. I had my port taken out 4 weeks ago. The only problems I am having, is the weight gain and being tired. Dr Becker is working on getting my Thyroid working. He ups my medication every 2 months. I have gained about 40 lbs since having my mastectomy and hysterectomy in July 2003. I hope that my strength comes back soon. My energy level is high in the mornings and quickly drops in the late in the afternoon. I always describe this to the doctor as me being a slug. I see Dr. Raghavan in January for a check up.
GOD has been using me to help other women in their fight against breast cancer. I am a big advocate on getting regular mammograms and having all lumps checked out. I have also been fortunate to have had time to be with my friends going through chemotherapy. I feel blessed that GOD has given me this time to do this.
